I am really tired of referring to Afghanistan as Bush's war. Say what you want about Iraq because it is mostly all true. The reason we are in Afghanistan however can be easily viewed, or not viewed depending on your view point, by the fact that their are 2 rather tall buildings missing from the NY skyline.

When President Obama got into office he didn't start pulling troops out rather he massively increased the troop level somewhat similar to the surge in Iraq that seemed to work so well. This was not Bush's war it was America's war. If George Bush had chosen not to invade, considering the rage that was in the country then, he may have been impeached. War was not declared because technically we were not going to war against a country but if it had been requested he would have received it. He did receive approval from Congress for his military actions and unlike Iraq the Democrats cannot argue that point.

More of the same during the dog and pony show....Tax...Spend....Redistribute....and MORE regulations.

You forget that to go to war it needed Yes votes from the House and Senate. Many of the Democratic Senators including Reed, Clinton, and Pelosi wanted to go to war.

The President and Vice President should step down because of the Benghazi scandal.

Impeachment proceedings should start if they don't come clean on everything going on there.

Bush didn't step down because of any of the dozen or so identical ambassy attacks that happened on his watch. I don't recall any of you guys on the right getting upset about those. Not to mention 9-11-11 itself, which happened on his watch and because his administration was asleep at the wheel. So save your faux outrage over this "scandal" and channel it into something more constructive.

@justaplumber, to quote your words, and the same words others in the GOP low informed based said to everyone back when GW Bush was President: " If you don't support the President, you are un-patriotic and a Traitor to our country."

So, from what you said back then, as to your post now, are you now a hypocritic? You had over 4 yrs of squealing about Obama messing up with the constitution, but you never every once tried to impeach him. Care to explain that? Crickets...

What embassies were attacked when Bush was in office? And what attacks did he try to deny were terrorist attacks or mishandled as bad as Obama has handled? Think you're talking about the 3 embassy attacks that happened on Bill Clinton's watch that he did nothing about. Amazing how people blame Bush for 9-11 when the planning started during Clinton's time and it was Clinton that made us a weak country. I notice that the economy and jobs got worse under Obama but he's never ever blamed for any of the problems.

Great speech! If the GOP would just try working with the President instead of against him, maybe we could actually solve some of these problems. And tell Rubio that oil is a finite resource that is rapidly destroying our environment. We need to find more alternatives, not further exploit a resource that is both finite and destructive.

Rubio pretends to care about social security and medicare while embracing a plan that would deny those programs to younger taxpayers and would raise the retirement age to the point that no one will live long enough to take advantage of medicare. Do you know how many people have died waiting for medicare to kick in? If you push it out even further, then even more will die because they won't be able to get medicare in time to save their lives.

Congratulations to Obama. What he has already done and what he will do will take us out of the lousy economic and social situation that he inherited from the Republicans. Antything negative the GOP will say about the State of the Union will be just ignant and baseles criticism. And Rubio, the blabber mouth chosen by the GOP to criticize Obama is the epitome of the GOP hypocrisy!! Rubio has been pushed to change his views about immigration reform, which he avoided consistently before by saying to many other Cubans and other Republicans that it is not of their interest as Cubans are allowed to come in our country by just "touching" our territory, which is not a problem for them. Now, after the Hispanics voted overwhelmingly for Obama, the GOP has "instructed" "Rubio the puppet" that to get the Latino votes they have to change their views about immigration reform, and he should be the "latino" to pretend that they support it. Also, Rubio's family has been found to be involved in drug trafficking, which is not much of a qualification to be a congressman, much less to reply to Obama's state of the union. Another stupid action of the GOP.

            when the truth IS--he is leading this country into destruction;

... the numbers for Bush's last three months. Between October and November, 597,000 jobs were lost; between November and December, 681,000 were lost; and between December and January, 741,000 were lost.

Jan4, 2013 -- The economy has now added private sector jobs for 34 straight months, and a total of 5.8 million jobs have been added over that period

            DJIA Dec 1, 2008 8149

            DJIA Feb13, 2013 13975

Dec. 29, 2008 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. corporate earnings fell for a sixth-straight quarter, the longest streak in at least 20 years, as consumer spending on automobiles, homes and retailers collapsed.

Jul 31, 2012 (Bloomberg) -- Profits for companies in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index have grown for 10 straight quarters, helping to power the index to a more than twofold increase since March 2009.

Excellent State of the Union Speech. Outlined a Positive way forward. No fear folks America is smart enough, strong enough and has the initiative to drive forward. The Fear spread by George Bush and the GOP has kept us down long enough. We need to meet all the challenges as a nation. No one does it alone. WE can make the future bright for our children.

Want to stop illegal aliens, prevent criminals and the mentally unstable from getting guns, ensure voting rights, then GOP stop all the 666 stuff and approve a National ID that is like a Government CAC card used by the military. It can be a valid ID, your driver's license, work permit, voters registration and contain information on your criminal and mental health. Make it a work requirement with a high fine for employers and our illegal aliens problem will diminish.

                Good Job Mr. President.

Obama hasn't done a budget in three years? He needs to check the Budget Office website. They are listed there in detail.

Obama spends more than Bush? Take out the two wars, the unfunded prescription plan, and the tax cuts and we are doing pretty good.

Does he really think the Republican southerners will vote for him in a primary? Fat Chance.

Just like the first Republican Depression it will take a long time to fix the disaster created by the very stupid and incompetent Bush Administration and the Republican Party.

Especially when Republicans have intentionally done everything they could to damage the economy in hopes of political gain.

Republicans have been advocating the trickle down theory of economics for 40 years. It didn't work under Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush 41 or Bush 42. In fact it has created a recession every time it has been implemented. Republican economic ideas are, to quote George Bush Sr "voodoo economics".
