I usually watch with both palms out. One for B.S. And one for the materialization of anything beneficial. The B.S. hand always fills up first.

This is the State of the Union speech for tonight but next week it will be a whole new set of words that mean nothing so why bother waste your time and listen at all?

This guy Obama is nothing but a snake oil salesman and one of the best at it. A total and complete empty suit. He gives new meaning to the word. He never had a job where he had to pay for his own mistakes with his own money so what experience does he have that relates to the American People that WORK FOR A LIVING? He sure knows how to piss away other peoples money though.

Brian Williams??? Gosh, I can't wait. He's the biggest supporter that Obama has. I'm sure he won't be partisan.

Wouldn't it be great if the news agencies reported the news, like they used to?

Good thing about it is, folks are wising up to the liberal news media and their days of pushing their agenda on others are numbered.

The sequester will not be easy, nobody said it would be easy. It will be devestating to have to actually pay for the things we buy for a change. And, this sequestration is only the start. Another sequestration should be implemented each year until there is a surplus, not a deficit.

The country may not be able to afford Obama's agenda? It's laughable you think that is news. The country could not afford the $5 Trillion of new debt Obama has racked up in 4 years. That's why it is called debt. It hasn't been paid for.

OK so the bailouts didn't achieve anything. You live and learn. So, let's take time out from spending and pay off Obama's $5 Trillion in new debt first, then perhaps borrow a little more later. But I hope not.

But if both Democrats and Republicans alike quit on even the sequester because it might be a little tough for awhile, then they are wasting their time in Congress, and the American people are in big trouble.

Dear all

How to watch the State of the Union with NBC News...

First turn on TV

Next, NBC commentators will explain everything you need to know by interpreting it for you, so there is no reason for the viewer to analyze anything. Isn't NBC talking heads the ones that advertise "...we understand the news and explain it to you with everything you need to know...."

Then again, NBC is not alone (ABC, CBS, FOX) as all other commercial TV News does the same.

They all make it seem that America cannot think for itself!

@Fordman4life...I see how u got your name. Your afraid of change, or anything different, so your comment is about as dumb as you are. Get out in the world and see what's out there instead of hiding behind your own lil fears. Btw....are you even old enough to post on here??

    #1.10 - Tue Feb 12, 2013 6:46 AM EST

jackfromJax.....try watching AlJazeera.com/English. It's not all propaganda like the US channels are, because they aren't bought and paid for by big industry, big lobbies, and big money, left or right wing. Try it out.

Here is how to watch the State of the Union...........don't.

It is more fiction and useless than one of the movies in your DVD collection.

Plug in Tommy Boy, grab a bucket of popcorn and a soda, and watch a movie. You will be better entertained and the movie will actually make more sense when it is over than what this useless and pathetic president has to say (AGAIN!!).

Better coverage of the SOTU will be provided by FOX NEWS.

      #1.15 - Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:30 AM EST

How to watch the SOTU: With an open wallet sitting in front of you- throw money out of it every time you hear the President talk about "needs". With an open bottle- take a drink every time you hear the President tell us about what's wrong with the US. With an open barf bag in front of you- for every time the President uses a member of the audience as his propaganda pawn to further his agenda. With a copy of the Constitution and a match- light up a bit of it and then put it out every time the President talks about needed "changes" and "common sense changes".

I agree,it will be fun to watch republicons go nuts, knowing they have over three years and ten months left of Obama.

And then they have to look forward to losing the house in 2014 and the white house to. Hillary in 2016.

And the abandonment of the Tea Baggers.

Just how much legislation will they pass without the House? Please tell.

And YOU should look forward to losing the Senate. People will attach the deficit to Obama and thereby his party. And if you knew anything about anything you'd know the ruling party generally loses seats in the second term And correct me if I am wrong but you have a bunch people up for re-election and Rockefeller retired. Are you really that stupid? Obviously.

Hillary? Maybe we should ask Vince Foster's widow what she thinks of that since Hillary was sleeping with her husband.

Tea Baggers? I'm not going anywhere BOY.

Wrong! Tonight is "snitch on your parents night" just like the old days in Mother Russia. I think the Dems. already had one or two of them already but if I had kids in the 8-12 age group I would be very careful of making sure I applauded after every sentence loud and clear in full view of the kids and then comment on how smart Obama is.

Obama isn't going to be happy till he has complete control of your daily life.

How to watch the SOTU? By turning on my TV and adjusting the sound. I don't want to see tweets and messages and whatever flashing on the bottom of the screen. I don't want to hear what the analysis is until at least tomorrow. I want to listen to what the President has to say and then decide what I like and what I don't like. I never listen to the opposition response anymore whether republican or democrat. No matter how hard they try, they sound like idiots after the Presidential SOTU - especially the Tea Party.

Pay no attention to China, Russia, the Middle East, buy Gold commercials, importing labor, closing businesses, Rising costs and dwindling pay, chipping away at every liberty and right, but the state of the union will be strong right up to the point it collapses.

1.) Ignore the the babbling heads before the President arrives for his speech.

2.) Listen carefully to the President.

3.) When he is done once again ignore the babbling heads the best method is to turn the television off.

4.) And for God's sake do not give any consideration to listening to the opposing view, that is all that is and offers nothing to the conversation.

He's having the mother of the 15 year old girl killed in Chicago by a criminal with a gun - Why? No reason for having this mother at his Speech of the Union other than to further his gun grab speech. He is grabbing at anyone he can to get sympathy for his goal to take all of our guns. These people are all just his puppets - like Gabriel Gifford - he's reaching out to them to get our guns and the little puppets are falling all over him to kiss up to him. It's sickening - he's exploliting this 15 year old girl and Gifford and all the others that the Media is bringing out for their king, Obama. I hyope no one even listens to his speech that it has been said is going to cost taxpayers $542.00 a minute or a word - can't remember which was noted.
