Raise everyone's taxes, double them while you're at it too. Not counting SSI and Medicare recipients, 107 million people are taking from the actual taxpayers already. I think most people would have less of a problem accepting tax increases if there was some guarantee of fiscal responsibility from government. I live in CA where we have been told that more revenue is needed, sound familiar? Last summer we were told that many state parks would have to be closed due to no money. Thousands of people raised a lot of money to try to keep them open. Then it was discovered that the State Parks Department had millions stashed away. Either they were hiding the money or they did not know they had it. Either way I resent sending more money to any entity that is that corrupt or incompetent. At the federal level the talk is about slowing down the spending increases. In other words, we want to spend 50% more than we take in but in the name of responsibility we will only spend 40% more than we bring in. To some people that sounds logical. Our grandkids and their kids are going to have to pay for this and close to half the country couldn't care less as long as their gravy train continues.

Folks, regardless of party affiliation, you and I (collectively and historically) voted for this situation. No amount of blame (in either direction) will wash off the facts as they stand to date. Th only means to enhance the standing of the US, domestically or internationally, is to get the country's present and future house in order. World and domestic Economics are trumping politics by a large margin .... we need, as a people, to concentrate on the large economic picture (developed world's aging population and work force, developed world's sky-rocketing health demands, information driven post industrial job market and "house-of-cards" developed world's domestic and international debt situation). We cannot afford to get ourselves caught up in some pointless short-term political sideshow. We risk the falling out of our world leadership position and historical high standard of living. Get the fundamentals right and we all can prosper ... take the wrong turn (political infighting deadend) and we will all regret this missed opportunity.

Obama has Squandered Trillions on his programs with little return. His policies aren't working. The Money was spent improperly Saving the Rich & the Wall Street Bankers. It should have been spent building the Economy. Obama's Policies for Job creation has netted a cool 1 Job for every Million spent. Totally unsustainable for any country. Growing the Economy was the only hope of averting the coming problems. The Money well is dry. The Government is left with only the Option of printing money which devalues everyone's income. The Same Policies that brought down the Soviet Union. The Soviet people had money, but No Product to buy.

If you think Obama's Policies have worked, Your partly right. The Rich & Wall Street have recovered most or all their losses. After that your wrong. The Middle class has gradually & is continuing to lose ground. As I said, the only way to fix this was to build the Economy. Most likely we have past the point of reversing this. Note: The Number of Billionaires increased by about near 25% under Obamas reign. From about 380 to 475.

Before Obama's term is over, I fully expect him to take over the 401K system. Returns will be capped at 2% regardless how high the Inflation rate goes up. This will be a last ditch effort to keep the U.S. from going bankrupt. It will only be a temporary fix. Very soon the will try to save Social Security with higher Payroll tax. The Same system that Obama diverted half a Trillion in assets from. It will include a gradual Age increase basically turning retirement age to a Disability System. You'll work until your no longer fiscally able to work & receive disability.

A Statistic about U.S. Billionaires. Net worth of about $2 Trillion Dollars. U.S. National debt. $16 Trillion & growing. That's 8 plus times more then all the Assets of the Billionaires. Include the assets of Millionaires & the U.S. debt is still 2 to 3 times their total worth. Were in Trouble & a Natural reset is going to take place. A Depression Followed by a 30 to 4o years rebuilding society. It's not that the Rich don't have money. They just don't have enough to bail the country out.

Things are going to get really tough, & Most Americans aren't going to handle doing without very well. Get used to the Idea. It's coming. And all parties are responsible. Including every last individual.

The Democrats controlled both the Senate and the House from Jan 3 2009 to Jan 3 2011. The Democrats were in charge of EVERYTHING for 2 full years (under the current President) and now the crisis we face is the Republican's fault for being obstructive over the last 20 months?????? If as much energy was spent on fixing the issue, as it is spent on spitting poison at each other we'd be out of this mess in an instant.
