The President didn't create this division. It was created on his second day in office when Mitch McConnell stood in front of a dozen microphones and stated, "Our number one goal is to make Obama a one-term President."
It's time you stopped blaming Obama for the shortcomings and failures of the Republican party, and started finding ways we can come together as one country again. The ball is in your court - don't drop it this time.
Perhaps we can do better going forward. Perhaps the republicans will decide it is better to work with the President for the betterment of the country and not repeat the last four years of obstructing for no reason other then to hurt the President. Is it reasonable to think the Republicans will do this? No, sadly, it isn't. I think we can expect the next four years to continue to show moderate growth and improvement in our country in spite of the Republicans efforts to stop it. Republicans who support this agenda cannot call themselves true Americans.
Right now the hurdle will be to get Mitt to concede. Having gotten to know him during this campaign I believe he will continue to fight tooth and nail rather then accept that he has lost. He cares nothing for the good of the country, he will not let go of his desire to be crowned king. Don't wait up for his concession speech tonight.

We saw Christie & Obama work well together in a display of real leadership.--they showed us the way.

Well, the Tea Party took a lickin' tonight. Republicans gave up the Senate because of it. Time will tell, but don't be suprised if the House gets reined in. Not right away, but it won't take long. The Tea Party will try to block a deal on the fiscal cliff and Boehner will be forced to crack down. They will eat their own if necessary to survive.
If Republicans don't change, they will go extinct and never see the inside of the White House for many years to come. The nations demographics are becoming more favorable to Democrats. Traditional conservatives know this. Lets see how long it takes to get the Tea Party in line.
Congratulations to America. 58 million + can't be wrong. Class won out. We have succeeded against all odds and soooooo much money. The real problem that our President faces is the likes of Mitch McConnell. Perhaps the Reps. need to select another senate leader -- perhaps Lindsey Graham. I see where Romney has the UAW and some others filing ethics charges against him as well. Evidently he made $15.3 million dollars in windfall profits from the auto bailout and 'forgot' to disclose it as per law.

Where you see doom and gloom I see hope and glimpses of a country that is moving forward and in the right direction. Americans have soundly rejected Romney and everything he stands for and for good reason. He represents the past. Obama represents the future, and the future is looking a lot brighter. I live in Maryland and am so proud of our citizens. We had 5 votes in my house for Same Sex Marriage and the Dream Act that both passed overwhelmingly. It is a bright day when the citizens of the State of Maryland stand as one voice and demand that all of our citizens have the same civil rights. Thank you Maryland.

Actually he only needs to force it down 48% of America, since he won by 52%. That's the way our nation is supposed to work, not by one third of our legislative body stopping the other two thirds from fulfilling the wishes of the voting majority. A very sad day - it's apparent the tide has truly turned. Our decline as a nation is speeding up. I guess it was worth Obama sacrificing the people in Libya for this result - I can't imagine how those families feel.
We are a nation that would rather watch the Kardashians than programs of substance. We'd rather eat McDonalds than get nutrition, and we'd rather have a celebrity at the head table than a successful individual who has a proven record of accomplishment. And the Obama supporters really believe they are independent thinkers . . . . very sad.
