Clinton joins Obama for rally wrapping whirlwind day of campaigning

Wrapping a whirlwind day of campaigning, President Barack Obama joined Bill Clinton — the last Democratic president, and vocal advocate for Obama — at a massive rally Saturday evening in northern Virginia.

Before a crowd estimated at 24,000, Obama both literally and figuratively embraced Clinton, who has emerged as one of the most dogged advocates for the president's re-election campaign this fall.

"He has been traveling all across the country for this campaign. He's been laying out the stakes so well that our team basically calls him the 'Secretary of Explaining Stuff,'" Obama said. "He was a great president; he has been a great friend."

As the final weekend of the 2012 campaign raised the question of which candidate, Obama or Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, would best move Washington past its intractable problems, Clinton, a president who has only grown more popular since leaving office, offered Obama his imprimatur.

"As you see, I have given my voice in the service of my president," the hoarse former president said, following some local favorites, the Dave Matthews Band, at the rally in suburban Washington.

NBC Politics coverage of the 2012 campaign:

Both Obama and Romney spent the day criss-crossing the United States to make a firmly centrist appeal, each of them trying to sound upbeat as the clock counts down on Election 2012. Each candidate drew thousands — sometimes tens of thousands — of supporters to rallies in Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Ohio and beyond. And each candidate argued he was the one who could break through the gridlock in a Congress beset for the past two years by bitter partisan fights.

"You know that if the president is re-elected, he'll still be unable to work with the people in Congress," Romney told a sprawling crowd in Colorado. "He's ignored them. He's blamed them. He's attacked them."

Romney spent much of the campaign's final weekend arguing he was the candidate of "change," co-opting Obama's 2008 message to use four years later against the president.

Whether the Republican candidate's claim to to the mantle of change would resonate with a handful of remaining swing voters in just a few battleground states was unclear. Obama seemed to enjoy an edge in states like Iowa, leading Romney by five points among likely voters, according to the Des Moines Register's final poll. But a WMUR poll of New Hampshire also found the president and Romney tied, at 47 percent, in another battleground state: New Hampshire.

That neither Obama or Romney had managed to open a solid advantage over the other in the final hours of the campaign only raised the stakes for the final series of events on Sunday and Monday. Both Obama and Romney — along with Vice President Biden and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan — were set to hit the road for another robust schedule tomorrow. Obama was set to travel to Colorado, Florida, and New Hampshire; Romney's schedule would take him to Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

"It is undoubtedly worse than Obama simply turned his back on cornered American citizens in a foreign land, knowing undoubtedly they would die. But that Barack did so without any compelling reason—except political—is beyond evil. Only a moral monster would have made that decision when it was within his powers to possibly save them with almost no effort of his own"

Rumors abound. According to Admiral Lyons writing in the Washington times

…one of Stevens’ main missions in Libya was to facilitate the transfer of much of Gadhafi’s military equipment, including the deadly SA-7 – portable SAMs – to Islamists and other al Qaeda-affiliated groups fighting the Assad Regime in Syria. In an excellent article, Aaron Klein states that Stevens routinely used our Benghazi consulate (mission) to coordinate the Turkish, Saudi Arabian and Qatari governments’ support for insurgencies throughout the Middle East. Further, according to Egyptian security sources, Stevens played a “central role in recruiting Islamic jihadists to fight the Assad Regime in Syria.”

I just went back through 4 articles on msnbc and the last 5 pages of comments and kept a little tally on a piece of paper (thats something you mark on with this thing called a pencil). I put a mark for each liberal and Republican tilted comment that contained foul language, hat speak, derogatory or violent remarks. I was skimming and didn't count just funny sarcastic remarks which I think are fine to have. I came up with 4 Republican and 63 liberal. I know liberals comment a lot more, I didn't count to weight the results, but I am almost certain that the liberal people would be making far more terrible comments pound for pound when adjusted. I think they are mean hate filled people kind of.

Do NOT be fooled by Romney/Ryan! You will regret it and wish you had not been taken in by those two. Use your common sense and check the facts about Romney. He has no intention of putting the people of this country first, as evidenced by his refusal to answer questions or ever explain his so-called platform. This man cares nothing nor knows anything about what it's like to be an "average" person. He's absolutely horrible on foreign policy and will have us in a war in a heartbeat. He's insulted and alienated other countries and the American people repeatedly, and contradicts himself at every turn. There is something wrong with this man. He nor Ryan can be trusted or believed. He says what he thinks you want to hear and doesn't mean a word he says. Our citizens will suffer because of these two men. If he's elected, YOU will reap what he and Ryan sows...and it will not be good.

VOTE OBAMA and give him a chance to finish what he's started. He had a tremendous burden when he was elected and NO ONE could have possibly fixed the disasters in four years which was created by Bush in the preceding eight years. VOTE OBAMA!

Yes he had a big burden and he said it would all be better after four years ,but it got worse.

And most of the burden came from a left wing congress and there policy's

( a $200,000.00 home with a salary that can not afford the mortgage) and of course the lending institutions ran with it and got away with it.

These past four years remind me of the movie gladiator.

Plaques and diseases. So what does Caesar do. He holds games to take the focus away from Romes real problems.

and the people ( 47%) fall for it not realizing that the issue will still be there when the fun is over. Kind of reminds me of throwing money at a broken system instead of addressing the issues and telling the citizens that a sacrifice needs to be made on all levels.

But Cesar could not do that because he is full of himself, pride full and has no experience running a country

While our new President was just sworn in America! The GOP/RNC Tea Beggers met that evening in the backroom/quietroom of the Caucus Steakhouse. That evening the GOP/Tea Beggers formed a "Conspiracy" to destroy the US Economy at all costs. The Tea Begger "Conspirators" wanted revenge on the American People, and the new President. The Tea Begger Conspirators were from the GOP/RNC "House Of Hoodlum's," and from the GOP/RNC US Senate. On that night back in 2009 the Tea Begger "Conspirators" conspired to destroy the Office Of The Presidency at all costs. The American People need to vote out on November 6, 2012 all GOP/Tea Beggers from both the US Senate and the US House Of Representatives. The GOP/Tea Beggers are all guilty of the act of a group "Conspiracy." Nutty Newt" made it clear that the seeds of 2012 were set on this night for 2012. Hey! Hey! Keep it Simple! Here are the past four years of Obama's accomplishments:

                                1. Refusing to come to the aid of our Ambassador and Associate Americans.

                                2. Complete display of ignorance or willful refusal to accept any responsibility for the deaths of four Americans.
                                3. Commander in Chief with not a clue as to what happened in Benghazi while the murderers hide in place sight and ridicule our country and its impotency. That is, if you want believe Obama's revolving and evolving explanations.

                                4. Record deficits to the tune of over one trillion per year.

                                5. Record number of unemployed Americans.

                                6. Record number of food stamp recipients.

                                7. Record number of welfare recipients.

                                8. Record amounts of spending on welfare.

                                9. Lower and lower numbers of work force participants.

                                10. A failing administration in regards to foreign policy - Al-Qaida is now in Libya, Mali, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. In 2009, basically in 2-3 countries, now in approximately thirty countries.

                                11. Poverty at the highest level since the sixties.

                                12. Reduced wages - only the 5th time in the past thirty-three years.

                                13. Record number of citizens on disability due to no unemployment benefits.

                                14. Adding three dollars of debt for every dollar added to the economy.

                                15. Two credit Agency downgrades.

                                16. First President to ever complete a term without one single budget being approved.

                                17. First President to have experienced actual "evolution" while in office.

                                18. Increased gas prices to nearly double what they were when elected.

                                19. Added 11,327 pages of new business regulations in less than a full term.

                                20. Three consecutive years of GDP lower than the previous year.
This is certainly a "Record Breaking President" and that is just for starters.

Why wouldn't everyone endorse the above?

is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

TheGDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

                                The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

Fuel prices were under $1.65 a gallon.

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB
                                CREATION!

Rememberthat day...January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House
Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking
                                Committee.

Barney Franks significant other, Herb Moses,
was the CEO of Fannie Mae!

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the
                                economy?

                                BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney) for taking us from 13,000
DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment ... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other
things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

(BTW:Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001
because it was financially risky for the US economy).

Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky
                                did fall!)

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? BARACK
                                HUSSEIN OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress, especially
                                BARNEY!!!!

So when someone tries to blame Bush...REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS
                                TOOK OVER!"

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas
pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.

Budgets do not come from the White House…They come from Congress and the party that
controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well
                                as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to
compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending
                                increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely,
passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama
                                could take office.

At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009
budget. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He
was a member of that very Congress that passed all of
these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to
                                complete 2009.

Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last
                                of the Republican budgets.

That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in
                                deficit spending.

After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes
Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama

is REALLY saying is "I inherited a deficit that Ivoted for, and then I

voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

Another stat the will shock you since all we hear is we’re recovering. Bankruptcies

Do you remember January 3, 2007??

This is just a History lesson. I am sending it to all regardless of party . I bet I can tell

you who won't read it. People afraid of the facts and truth or those who haven't tried

                                to look up the facts.

The GOP/Tea Beggers still do not want to face the cold hard facts that their "Political Party Of Pukes" committed treason against the US Constitution, the American People, the Office Of The Presidency, and the success of the US Economy. The GOP/Tea Beggers want to 'bury' the GOP/Tea Begger "Caucus Conspiracy." Just like the GOP/Tea Begger Congress 'buried' any and all bills presented by the President. Yes America! On Janruary 20, 2009 in the backroom of the Caucus Restaurant in Washington D.C. The GOP/Tea Beggers 'conspired' to destroy the People Of The United States Of America. We the People on November 6, 2012 need to vote out all of the GOP/TeaBeggers in both the US Senate and the US House Of Representatives. All of them knew before Janruary 20, 2009 that this meeting was going to take place. The GOP/Tea Beggers for the last Four Years have followed the messages from the "Caucus Conspiracy" of 2009. Get the facts America, and then vote!

Keep it Simple! Here are the past four years of Obama's accomplishments:

                                1. Refusing to come to the aid of our Ambassador and Associate Americans.

                                2. Complete display of ignorance or willful refusal to accept any responsibility for the deaths of four Americans.

                                3. Commander in Chief with not a clue as to what happened in Benghazi while the murderers hide in place sight and ridicule our country and its impotency. That is, if you want believe Obama's revolving and evolving explanations.

                                4. Record deficits to the tune of over one trillion per year.

                                5. Record number of unemployed Americans.

                                6. Record number of food stamp recipients.

                                7. Record number of welfare recipients.

                                8. Record amounts of spending on welfare.

                                9. Lower and lower numbers of work force participants.

                                10. A failing administration in regards to foreign policy - Al-Qaida is now in Libya, Mali, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. In 2009, basically in 2-3 countries, now in approximately thirty countries.

                                11. Poverty at the highest level since the sixties.

                                12. Reduced wages - only the 5th time in the past thirty-three years.

                                13. Record number of citizens on disability due to no unemployment benefits.

                                14. Adding three dollars of debt for every dollar added to the economy.

                                15. Two credit Agency downgrades.

                                16. First President to ever complete a term without one single budget being approved.

                                17. First President to have experienced actual "evolution" while in office.

                                18. Increased gas prices to nearly double what they were when elected.

                                19. Added 11,327 pages of new business regulations in less than a full term.

                                20. Three consecutive years of GDP lower than the previous year.
This is certainly a "Record Breaking President" and that is just for starters.

Why wouldn't everyone endorse the above?

Don, you forgot the real truth, when the dimwhitcraps took the congress and senate in January 2007 with the help of obama and biden the economy started it's slide then. We had a GDP of 3.6 unemployment at 4.6, gas at the ppump at $1.65 and the stock market bouncing at the 14,000 mark. It's altime high was 14,160 under Bush and the 10 year low at just over 8,000 under obamy. And to the fool posting 262.2, what can one say to an IQ of 2 like yours?

All you can hear from the Republicans and Tea Party is that Romney is a religiousman and will bring God back into the country. Was it not the Republican and Tea Party that objected to a Mormon as a non-Christian before. Romney is a businessman, we need a businessman in office. Romney is a businessman and a lawyer also, and was not GB jr., a businessman, look what happened. I personally don't want religion running my government. Separation of church and state must continue. Who kept President Obama from accomplishing his goals, the obstructionist Tea Party and Republicans by orders of no other than Mitch McConnell and BoneHead and Cantor. Go Forward, Not Reverse. Let's see Obama lowered taxes what 17 +- times and now he tells Romney that it does not work. So does this mean that if he is re-elected he will raise taxes 17 times? Biden say's hell yea we will.

What was it Biden said "If we raised taxes on the rich we'd have $500,000,000,000 we could cut the national debt." Does the blooming idiot realize we are only in debt 17 trillion, and the world debt is less than 60 trillion. Two total idiots on one ticket, obamy/biden. We can count on fools leading fools and that is obamy/biden leading the dimwhitcraps!

Guess Clinton has totally lost his mind since he is supporting the very same person who threw his wife under the Benghazi bus. But then, Clinton has historically been just as much a liar as the current Prez. ("I did not have sexual relations with that woman.") Which bring me to the real point. Any person who votes for Obama is saying the Benghazi cover-up is OK and it is perfectly alright for the Obama to continue to lie. It doesn't say much for the state of ethics and morality in America. I will never accept the lack of action by our govt. in this tragedy "OK." In the least, the actions were criminal, by some other accounts, treasonous. I will never vote for anyone involved in this tragedy.

Romney/Ryan, the only choice for America

(BTW, the number of those attending Romney events are not "estimated." Tickets were issued, and checked when going through security, so the numbers are true. Even in my own, rural portion of Ohio, 8500 showed up to a Romney event when the pre-event estimate was 1000 would attend. This was going on all over Ohio, yet the Media just couldn't bring themselves to report the truth.)
