As for what Romney said; the shame of it all is that he's absolutely correct. 47% to 48 % of the voting population believes that the government owes them something, and that they'll get it from Obama. In that sense, they would never vote for someone who they thought would either not give them government paid social benefits (such as welfare, food stamps, or S.S. disability) , or who might cut back, or even take away, the free "boonies" that they're already getting.

He simply spoke the truth, and I don't see how that's "writing off a big chunk of the country."

Since Obama took office there are more people on welfare, more people on food stamps, and more people drawing unemployment benefits than there were before he was President.

I sure wish we had a president that actually acted like a president. We are in a crisis. A weak foreign policy is creating and accelerating violence because our country is too weak to respond and what is our president doing? On a TV late night show criticizing a challenger when Obama has no plan and has not had a budget in Congress during his entire presidency as well as no coherent foreign policy plan. Total lack of leadership.

Then we have an economy collapsing before our very eyes. The only reason it hasn't collapsed is because he borrowed $6 Trillion. That is like a small business failing and getting $100,000 loan from the bank to pay vendors and employees. But the problem is the actual PROBLEMS with the business are not resolved so when that money runs out - so does the business.

Same thing with our country. Obama hasn't fixed anything and all indicators show he has made it worse. 8% unemployment for 43 straight months. 1 in 7 on Food Stamps. 1 in 6 in Poverty. Lowest labor participation rate since the 80's. Most people unemployed since the Great Depression.

So now that the $6 Trillion spent inefficiently has worn out the economy is starting its collapse and what is our president doing? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. When was the last time he sat down with businesses to ask "what can this government do to help you?". He hasn't. When was the last time he asked the consumers "what can the government do to help you find a job?". He hasn't.

This president has been an absolute failure - but still spends his entire time either golfing, being on late night tv, or campaigning. I have a better idea - why don't you act like a president and do something.

I find it interesting that Mr. Obama's supporters on this site have not challenged the premise of Mr. Romney's videotaped comments...that the "takers" in our society, as usual, will be lined up to vote for Mr. Obama or any Democrat candidate running for office to keep the booty coming their way. Which is, by the way, a truthful statement.

With all the insults that I've seen hurled about "unintelligent" or the classic "low information" voters in the Republican Party...I'm shocked I'm not reading from the more liberally inclined Newsviners about Mr. Romney being incorrect about the voters he classifies as a 'lock' for Mr. Obama.

I'll say it again...in 2010, the Democrat candidate for Governor of Connecticut won election by about 6000 votes out of 1.13 million cast...a squeaker of an election. In just the six poorest Connecticut cities, the man won by over 70,000 votes. And the cities here are tiny, with populations of just over 100,000 and down from there. And we have more than six "poor" cities. The new governor did not win a single community that is classified as a town...you know, the places where parents wake up and go to work, raise their children, and pay an overburden of state, local, and federal taxes.

So I'll take it as an "acceptance" from Newsviners that no matter how much they hate and insult Mr. Romney, they fully accept his premise that Mr. Obama, or any Democrat candidate, are proven magnets for the votes of those who contribute the least to this nation, while taking and expecting the most from this nation.

This may come as a shock to some of you, but Obama is capable of doing more than one thing at a time. For example, the last time you guys criticized him for doing things like this with the public, he was simultaneously planning the raid that killed Bin Laden.

The average raise in the national debt is about 4 trillion, possibly 5 and I remember when Obammmmmm came to office and everyone said he was putting us in debt more and more and the dems came out with the stats of how every president had raised the debt up 4-5 trillion "but Bush sr raised it 8 trillion" and so forth....so basically, the dems were trying to show that obambam only raised it 3 trillion but that was early....now it has been raised 6+ trillion and he has not (aand hopefully will not) finished his 4th year......and yet the dems are still on their soapbox

Now, bamalama says he is the peoples pres? really? Hows that job percentage? National debt? Military...oh you people dont know about that one? Well, it seems that you cdr in chief there has been passing bills to reduce our forces, downsize as it were but also places other restrictions on the workers of our government on our bases and posts to the point where positions are disappearing. You mentioned you paid taxes, I'm wondering if you pay more than what is asked of you? Do you take advantage of write offs and tax shelters like Roth IRA's? The Affordable housing act which REGULATED banks to make risky and careless loans combined with Freddie and Fannie (Both ran by Democrats giving money to democrat campaigns along with special loans) backing bad loans and packaging them as triple AAA investments with no oversight from congress (rejected by Barnie,Maxine and other Dems) had the largest role in the huge bubble and down turn.

We also know that Bush INHERITED the dot come bubble plus the largest attack on American soil yet unemployment never went over 7%. We also know that after his tax cuts Unemployment dropped to under 5%. We also remember the Democrats took over his last two years in office right before the time the economy started to tank.

We also know that Reagan INHERITED a similar if not worse situation from Carter as Obama and had 6% growth by the end of his first term. He ran on what was an obvious recovery, not on a plateform of "I need more time".

You are backing a man who has been President during the worst recovery EVER, record breaking numbers of people on food stamps and disability, and the middle east, along with tensions between Japan and China are at World War III levels.

I love the way liberals talk about Republicans "deflecting" but isn't it the liberals that are deflecting? Here are the facts:

1) We were told by Obama if he was allowed to spend nearly $1 Trillion unemployment would not go above 8%. It has been above 8% for 43 straight weeks.

2) Obama has added nearly $6 Trillion in debt that we as a country have no way to pay back.

3) GDP is stagnant at less than 2% annual growth - not even enough GDP growth to keep up with population

4) 1 in 7 on Food Stamps - highest since the program was started

5) 1 in 6 in Poverty - highest since the "war on poverty" was even started over 50 years ago

6) Lowest labor participation rate since the 80's

7) Highest percent out of work 6 months or more since the Great Depression

And the sad part is Obama has not even offered a change in what he has done as to what he plans to do. Only Obama can convince the unintelligent that he will do the same thing for the next four years and expect a different result as the LAST four years.

We have a choice in this country. To "stay the course' and expect a different result or elect someone in Romney who understands business and how to grow the private sector. Remember, ONLY the private sector can create jobs and economic growth - the federal government cannot. So we either grow the private sector or we don't. Romney will help grow the private sector but Obama will continue to attack the private sector as he has done the last four years.

Now liberals won't believe me, but why would liberals ever be interested in the truth, and many businesses now are simply "waiting" to find out what happens with this election. I do a lot of business consultation and the last couple years many businesses delayed expansion and hiring. That's why GDP is not growing because any hiring is "on hold". If Romney is elected businesses will believe the government will try to HELP them and support them and you will see GDP growth in the 4% to 6% annual rate within 12 months. If Obama is elected I know a number of businesses who plan to close. They say, and I agree, that Obama will make it difficult for them to make a profit that is worth the risk. If the "risk" is higher than the "reward" they will get out of that investment and business. If Obama is elected again I see 12% unemployment within 24 months and in a recession that is worse than what we have in 2008. The next recession, if Obama is elected, will be closer to the Great Depression. That is not MY opinion it is what I see and who I talk to.

So I have a suggestion for you - make sure you stock up on ammo and get some emergency long term food to have as backup (at least enough for 7 days) because if Obama is reelected we will see an economic collapse within 6 months and finding food and protecting your family will be most important. We will see riots not seen since Rodney King in the early 90's and crime will skyrocket with armed robbery and home invasions occurring on a daily basis. Again, that is not MY opinion but what occurs during an economic collapse because when unemployment skyrockets, and cities and states don't have the money for unemployment insurance and the federal government cannot borrow any more money, things are going to get nasty. Real nasty.........

Romney claims our navy is the smallest it's been since 1917 even though in reality our tonnage exceeds the total tonnage of the next 17 largest navies combined. When Reagan was elected we had 3 naval task forces, today we have 11. If there's any argument that our military is strained it's not lack of spending it's the constant wars we've been fighting for 11 years in republican wars.

Romney suggests the mere thought of Reagan being elected was why Iran released the hostages on the day he was elected ignoring the deal Reagan made to supply parts for Irans American made tanks and planes they couldn't legally buy parts for.

Romney intends to cut the top rate from 35% to 25% and eliminate capital gains taxes which is most of his income and means under his plan he'd pay zero or close to zero with no explanation as to who or how this would be paid for or how the country would benefit.

Executive orders are Constitutional and used to direct the officers of The Executive Branch to carry out their DELIGATED Duties. 2. Homeland Security

As I read your (the) list of Executive orders One can see they all are directed to security measures thet must be taken if we are attacked again or under threat of attack.. Last night I watched two asses on television. One was pretending to be a comedian and the other was pretending to be a president! Both came out as complete frauds!

I must be part of that one percent! I worked all my life, paid taxes, including Social Security, and Medicare! Then I retired only to find something I had paid into all of my life was now considered an entitlement! Like they were giving me something!

Now I would not want you to get me wrong! I understand that all the money paid into Social Security was stolen back out to fund the welfare nation started under LBJ! It just is not there!

Bill Clinton tried a unique approach! He just wrote off the money owed to Social Security, and all of the interest on it! Low and behold there was now a surplus and everyone cheered, until it was understood what he had done! His accounting tricks made him look good for awhile and some people still believe it!

Unfortunately, accounting tricks will not solve what is going on in this country! It is not just the National debt that is a problem but the worthless money Obama is still having printed, Sixteen trillion and counting! That's right, just printed up and put into circulation with nothing to back it!

Some of you will say that I belong to the 99% but I disagree! I am not dependant on Government handout! The Social Security I draw was paid for in advance! If it gets taken away I will go back to work if need be to survive! Those who rode the welfare train on Social Securities dime will have a problem! Now states and counties are raising the tax rates on homeowners to pay for the ever increasing burden of Union contracts! The worth of our houses has gone down but the price of owning them has gone way up!

If you want to live high on the hog, try finding someone else’s ass to chew on! All civil servant union are parasites! They feed on the ones they are supposedly helping! For them to get ahead they have to take it away from those who pay taxes! In this case, homeowners! So when they actively compete to get someone elected who will give them a better contract they are hurting the homeowners! In recent years the homeowners have become enslaved to pay for ever increasing pay and benefits for these groups!

Of course there is a vote on School budgets! That is when the takers show up in droves to vote for something they do not have to pay for! Making it highly unlikely for school budgets to get voted down!

So, if you want to put me into that so called one percent that we all know is the fifty percent, I would be proud to be there! Let’s call that fifty percent the payers and you can be the takers! Now isn't that much easier?

Obama claims to be creating 90,000 jobs every month for the last 44 months ... there is one problem, we need to create 275,000 jobs per month just to employ the new new people entering the work force ... Additionally if we are to cut the unemployment number down we need another 490,000 for the next 48 months !!!

So, what we needed was 766,000 new JOBS per month ... In other words, Obama needed to CREATE 33,000,000 million new jobs over the last 44 months not the absolutely pathetic 4 million he is bragging about. Why does the press allow Obama to even brag about 4 million when he should be creating 33 million, it's like Obama saying I raped 9 women not 10 ... yeahhh Obama you're swell.

For President Obama, being interviewed at the David Letterman Show was not a good idea.

Letterman is associated with a bad reputation in his TV and personal life---he is a has been with many demons..

It would be better for Pres. Obama to stay away from Late Night Shows. He must project he is bigger than that as President of the United States; it looks cool and could be a call for desperation.

Staying on the campaign trail in all States is where he should be, among the masses here, along with updating the American People on his voice and plans for the worldwide chaos that is going on--He must address Foreign Policy.

Those monsters in the Middle East will try to bring us down with another Terrorist Attack like 9/11 if ignored.

I do agree with Herondel on one point. If you are going to collect welfare and have the ability to work then you should be doing something for that money. We need highways cleaned, parks maintained, etc. We don't even have to displace people already in the field, the welfare recipients can just provide additional help. Hell they don't even have to work a full week, just 20hrs and have your supervisor sign and submit your time sheet so you can continue to receive welfare. Teach a man or woman to work and he will support himself eventually.
