On Day 2 of the Democratic National Convention, speakers cherry-picked employment numbers to make President Barack Obama's record on jobs look better than it is and misrepresented Republican proposals on Medicare to cast them in the worst light.
A look at some of the claims from the stage, in speeches preceding former President Bill Clinton's featured address Wednesday night, and how those assertions compare with the facts:
Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, House Democratic leader: "Democrats will preserve and strengthen Medicare. Republicans will end the Medicare guarantee."
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., delivers a speech at the DNC, Wednesday, urging Americans to reelect President Obama.
Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee: "Paul Ryan wrote the budget that turns Medicare into voucher care and could charge seniors $6,400 more every year, while funding tax breaks for millionaires. Here's their economic plan: if you're a millionaire, you win the lottery. If you're a senior, you lose your Medicare guarantee."
The fact: Both are on shaky ground in declaring that Republicans will end the "Medicare guarantee," and Israel's figure for how much more seniors could pay is outdated. It's actually based on a Congressional Budget Office analysis of the 2011 version of Rep. Paul Ryan's Medicare proposal, different in several important ways from the Republican vice presidential candidate's latest 2012 version.
The latest Ryan plan would offer future retirees the choice of a government program modeled on Medicare or private plans subsidized by government. That's not a proposal to end a Medicare guarantee. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office does, though, estimate future retirees would get less from the government under the Ryan plan than if current law continues. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has endorsed Ryan's Medicare ideas in broad terms while saying the White House agenda will be his own, not his running mate's, if they win.
Ryan's plan only affects people joining the program in 2023 or later. It's expected that private health insurance plans serving seniors would have to guarantee some basic level of benefits, yet to be spelled out. Finally, there's no such thing as a "guaranteed" Medicare benefit for the ages, because Congress can change the laws.
__—
Pelosi: "Under President Obama, we've gone from losing 800,000 jobs a month to adding 4.5 million private sector jobs over the last 29 months."
Steve Westly, former California state controller and chief financial officer: "President Obama understands that future. He knows that this election is about creating jobs today. That's why he's helped create 4.5 million of them, growing the economy from the middle out, not the top down."
The facts: While that figure has become a White House talking point, it's only part of the story. It's a selective number that refers just to private sector jobs created in the last 29 months, from the trough of the recession through July. Governments — especially state and local ones — have continued shedding jobs. And the claim ignores job losses during Obama's term before the employment picture bottomed out.
The economy lost 8.8 million jobs from the time employment peaked in January 2008 until it hit bottom in February 2010. Between then and this July — the most recent month for which there are figures — just 4 million jobs have been recovered. Never since World War II has the economy been so slow to recover all the jobs lost in a downturn.
__—
Pedro Pierlusi, non-voting member of the House from Puerto Rico: "The president is a champion of comprehensive immigration reform and is preventing the deportation of thousands of young men and women who were brought here as kids, have played by the rules and have done nothing wrong. Indeed, they are doing everything right by getting an education or serving in the military. But if Mitt Romney gets into office, he has vowed to overturn that action and veto the Dream Act if it ever passes Congress."
The facts: During the Republican primaries, Romney did pledge to veto the DREAM Act, a bill that would provide a path to citizenship for many young illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children. But Romney has not said what he would do with Obama's deferred action policy, which allows many young illegal immigrants to avoid deportation for two years and get a work permit. Romney has only said that he would work to create a "civil but resolute" long-term fix to illegal immigration.
__—
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America: "When Mitt Romney says he'll get rid of Planned Parenthood, and turn the clock back on a century of progress, it has real consequences for the 3 million patients who depended on Planned Parenthood last year. "
Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, gives a speech at the DNC, explaining why supporters of Planned Parenthood support President Obama.
The facts: Romney has proposed to eliminate federal money for Planned Parenthood but not get rid of the organization. Planned Parenthood's budget is roughly $1.1 billion, and it receives about $75 million in federal financing, which cannot be used to pay for abortions.
__—
Pelosi: "Democrats passed health reform to allow Americans the freedom to pursue their passion; to make health care a right, not a privilege."
The facts: Access to health insurance is essentially becoming a right under Obama's health care law, although one that most people will pay for, and that right comes with a mandate to obtain coverage. Those who don't will be penalized. It is true that insurers will no longer be able to deny coverage to people who have been sick or charge them exorbitant rates, once the law takes full effect.

And there stands Sandra Fluke hate mongering and fear mongering.
What a foul human being she is. If it were her "choice" she'd FORCE everyone else to pay for her abortions, her contraceptives, and ALL of her health care while she makes hundreds of thousands of dollars as a lawyer but simply "can't afford" to pay for it herself.
This Convention is full of filth this time around. The Democrats have LOST IT!
Where's the discussion about JOBS? Where's the discussion about the ECONOMY?
Sandra Fluke wants "FREE" crap for herself, she can take her sorry self to Planned Parenthood. They'll kill her baby without asking a question and provide all the "FREE" contraceptive care she needs for her lifestyle.
You've lost it Cheryl if you think that the Repubs are going to do ANYTHING for the benefit of US citizens. Unless you have a million dollars you're nothing to them!
Wow. You sound a nutjob. Guess you have no problem with others telling you how you should live your life. I find it odd that you have no issue with health care paying for Viagra type medications. You really see an upside to kids being dumped on society?
Exactly Cheryl, that should be the issue. Jobs and the economy. The Obama administration set it up months ago when George Stephanapolus asked a Republican candidate what his position was on birth control. That was a setup by the Obama administration in advance because he knew that he had NOTHING to run on but bringing up issues that have been solved decades ago and will never be an issue again. Birth control and abortion are done deals but the lib's are like sheep and follow like little lambs. You lib's are being deceived by the Obama administration.
Other than "the Democrats haven't boosted jobs" I haven't heard a solution from the RNC. As far as the economy, my portfolio is u;p about 30 percent over the past two years. I can't complain.
If all the RNC has if "the other side is crap", they are no better than the last four years.
Oh....whats with that woman Elizabeth Warren on the DNC stage now? Man she looks like the dead mom from the old black and white movie 'The Birds'. Go home Grandma. Yuk!
The Republicans want to hire a CEO, not elect a president. They want their guy to have the power to hire and fire Americans and to chop up and sell off America in the most profitable manner.
"bringing up issues that have been solved decades ago". Two words: Personhood Laws.
The Republicans want to pass Personhood Laws that would prohibit hormonal birth control. And you think the battle hasn't been reopened? Place an aspirin between your knees and call us in the morning.
You are sleeping through your life.
Was Faux-ahontas wearing her Fake-owi headress
This is not surprising. The only way Obama can be reelected is to distort the numbers to try to fool the people. The national debt crossed the 16 trillion threshold yesterday and not one democrat addressed it. Instead, they discussed more stimulus, more spending! Absolutely insane!
R Scalzo: The jobs and the econmy are the issues... where have you been? And do you even care about anyone else other than your portfollio is up 30%. You only care for yourself... like the democrats and want eveything handed to them.
It's good to see somebody cut through all the crap and explain it like it is....Thank you, from both sides of the aisle.
There are actually only 318,000 more people working than were working when Obama took office. These guys can twist numbers until they are greek, but it doesn't change the facts.
The fact is millions lost their jobs, are not working, have exhausted their unemployment benefits, and are fleeing in record numbers to disability.
We have 15% of Americans on food stamps.
Family income is down $4,000, net worth has disappeared for millions of us.
There is NO policy to create real jobs. The only thing the President proposes is higher taxes on rich people, the Buffet Tax, which is estimates to generate $60 - $120 billion annually depending on who you talk to, while these ding dongs are overspending $1.3 trillion every year. So their best estimate covers 10% of the annual deficit, and none of that money would go towards debt, as Obama wants to borrow MORE MONEY to spend on MORE government jobs.
Obama's America has expanded the dependent class. He has seen more early retirements into poverty than any President in history. More debt, more dependency, fewer rights (except for union workers).
And to ice the cake - Union workers in several states are now exempt from trespassing and stalking laws.
Please tell all of us regular Americans, why do our union brothers deserve an exemption from stalking and trespassing?
Finally - why are Democrat districts being given Obamacare waivers that total into the thousands? Why is Nancy Pelosi's district the beneficiary of the most Obamacare waivers of any district in America?
If Obamacare is such a wonderful program, why would any Democrat ask for a waiver for their constituency?
I'll tell you why - Obamacare is the biggest overreach in US history, and as we are seeing with costs, will bankrupt the nation. In just two years, we have seen the actual CBO estimates DOUBLE for Obamacare, and it is still not fully implemented.
This criminal conspiracy that is the federal government must be defanged and defunded.
Nora-616050
your brain dead. Obama doesn't give a shix about you.
You know the democrats are in serious when even the ultra-liberal MSNBC is calling them out on their lies. LMFAO!!
You can't expect the Liberals to give up their life of welfare and handouts.
America is tired of paying for your lazy asxes. get a job and pay your own way.
I find it funny to read the comments from the Democrats who actually support Obama. I really don't get why. They like to complain that it's all the congresses fault. However, when Obama took office he had it all. And, not once has he produced a budget that even his party could agree on. Amazing to me how someone who has never had a real job is going to tell the real job creators how to create jobs. I'd much rather have a CEO run this country than a community organizer. This country is a business, and business ain't good.
lucky, when we end corporate welfare I will listen to your ranting.
I hear ya Angie. I'm still mad about Comrade Obama bailing out GM with $70 billion of our hard-earned tax dollars. Glad you agree!
Jobs are NOT misrepresented!!!!
GOP MISLEAD WITH: "LESS PEOPLE WORKING NOW HAN 2009" - These job losses occured during Obama's first year --- it took time to turn things around from Bush's 750K jobs lost per month ---- and if you read the graph at left you can clearly see that Obama turned the trend around. Just imagine if Bush had remained! Just imagine if Romney is elected. GOP, GO BACK TO SLEEP!
Graph at left: RED = job losses/Adds under BUSH. BLUE= Job losses/Adds under Obama. GOP, how can you not see the truth here? Obama turned the Bush nightmare around and if you can't see this you need help. GOP YOU NEED HELP!!!
I'm saying the same thing AP is saying, just not spinning it negative. GOP, you were never even close to the truth. You're the liars. Always were.
How can anyone be so heartless to use MediScare to scare our granny..
..scary that election is only one week after Halloween; voters have to turn out enough to avoid GOP's 'end medicare as we know it.'
WOW! This is the Associated Press trying to show objectivity by trying to fact check that which is redundant. Since Fact checkers totally proved that Ryan and several of the republican speakers at the RNC were outright lying, AP wants to show that they're impartial and are trying to find lies where they dont' exist. Every statement being addressed in the article is true. Many of them are exagerated; but then, all politicians exagerate. There's a big difference between exagerating and flat out lying.
Sorry AP! You come across as rather dumb on this one. Lying Ryan and Mr. "I will take credit for that" have no comparison.
It is kind of funny to listen (read?) the Republicans howl, writhe, scream and whine because they know they aren't going to win this election.
It's also kind of funny that Democrats think there is going to be " hope and change" and "forward" when we all know that Obama is going to keep doing what he's doing ( even if its not working) and the only way your going to get out of this hole, that Obama put us in, is if you rely on yourself to adapt.
GOP - did you notice the difference between what Clinton did tonight and what your LIARS did last week. Clinton expressed FACT. Didn't see much of that last week... plenty of hate and BS politics with some old senile guy talking to a chair.... LOL
From what the article said I don't see all the 'Twisting" that the title would leave to believe. In my life I've heard a lot of 'Twisting" of words by political candidates (most right-wing).But that was quite mild for a change. As for the economic situation.Did people expect a miracle from the President. With the horrible problems he had to deal with.Leftover from Bush's wasted years.I'm surprised its not worse now than it is.Especially since the whole world is in a recession, verging on depression. We are lucky not to be in worst shape. Many countries are at 18-25% unemployment and on the way to full economic collapse. I for one won't be voting to return to the bad Republican years, the people that got us into the mess to start with. Not being one of the 1%er's,I'd rather support the party, that if even only a little bit, cares for us 99%ers.
Hahaha! MSNBC has already taken this article down off its front page! AP tells the truth for once and the libs at MSNBC can't take it!
Also hilarious, they put Slate op-ed pieces up as "news". But the American people won't be fooled forever, and November draws near.
You lefties and your socialist god/president better prepare for a long, cold winter, cause we're kicking you out in the snow...
What? Democrats tell ball-faced lies? Well, they do have as a key speaker, Bill Clinton. The man who got up on national television and wagged his finger in the face of every American and told a shameless, bald-faced lie to all of us. Like Obama and the Democrat's, his mistake was assuming we're a bunch of saps that will believe them.
Sure, MSN is so left-leaning. I love this line from the article:
"Never since World War II has the economy been so slow to recover all the jobs lost in a downturn."
A downturn? We have not had a 'downturn' like that since WWII. This was not a 'downturn', this was a financial collapse. The last time we had a collapse of this magnitude was the Great Depression, which took 2 decades to fix. But the 'liberal media' remembers it as a 'downturn.'
That's like calling 9/11 a 'house fire'.
What's not in question is that Obama stopped an economy in free fall, established a foundation and began years of growth, adding 4.5 million private sector jobs, and saving millions more from being lost. His policies were the first in decades to grow manufacturing jobs. And he did it without killing education, without killing health care, without taking away grandma's medicaid - all of which, and more, is in the republican trickle-down agenda.
Republicans drove our economy off a cliff. Now they argue that Obama isn't fixing it fast enough, so they should come back to do it - with the same exact ideas. I don't think they're gonna win this one.
Republicans say it is about jobs, but then they go and try to legislate against women and other non job related social issues. They are trying to suppress votes they think will go against the, and they want to privatize Medicare and Social Security. Republicans have done all they can to make sure the economy is still in the @!$%#ter so they can blame Obama for their own obstruction.
Obama/Biden 2012 FOR WOMEN
Lib50: that's because they don't have an actual jobs plan. As Patrick said the other night, their 'plan' is to give the wealthy another tax cut, get rid of business regulations, crush the unions, and wait...
They do, however, have very definite and distinct plans about how they are going to make life miserable for those Americans they don't like, and have made a lot of moves in that direction - in the states, primarily - over the last two years.
i would have thought democratic NObama the fan worshipers would have been flooding this post in defence, slamming the Faux News... but it wasnt FN was it? lol. the numbers in a good quick won debate is as good as the polls.. smaller the numbers less of the blind willing to sacrifice truth for self imposed reasons. :)
Nice to see AP has officially outed itself and joined the pro-Romney camp. It's slanted reporting and continued bias against the president has been obvious for months.
Let me get this straight....you're whining about the media being biased AGAINST a democrat??!!!! Lmfao!!! Priceless ....
I know. It's so weird. Usually they bend over backwards to defend Barack.
time for Obama to go!
Don't worry this story will be off the MSNBC politics page in one hour.
Have you lost your mind! The AP is biased against OBama. You need to up the dosage on your anti psychotics. Barry will go down in history as the most ineffectual president in our nations history. Why is it that when Kerry was running none of you bed wetting libs seemed to care he was a gaziolionare. At least Romney made his own money, he didn't marry into it. How can you folks continue to back the worst president ever. You should have all voted for Hillary when you had the chance. But no you all thought it would be more fashionable to vote for the first black president rather the the first female. Your all ridiculous. Or worse, Socialists.
justin,
Are you slow? David is dead right. Here's my explaination, posted above. Not that you or your GOP buddies (16 sheople at the time of this post, LOL) will be able to understan it...

StopTheLiesNOW:
G W Bush average unemployment = 5.3% (8 years)
W J Clinton average unemployment = 5.2% (8 years)
B H Obama average unemployment = 9.2% (3.6 years)
The source? The USA Department of Labor.
Homer,
Do you not understand the nature of an average? Bush inherited a fairly stable economy and a better employment picture than what he left Obama. From there, the graph at left clearly shows you what happened. Your average is just a dishonest way of expressing this. It says nothing.
Obama turned Bush's 750K jobs loses per month left to Obama - AROUND. PERIOD. END OF STORY. DEAL WITH IT. What kind of man are you to blatantly attempt to lie about this?
noison -
you can not deny my FACTS so why don't you just be a man, get past your HATE, and recognize that you believe the LIES Faux News tells you...
Stop the Lies ...
Clinton handed Bush a recession, which he turned around in spite of 9-11. Remember, the 2004 election had nothing to do with the economy.
Job growth under Obama has been stalled because of his policies, not in spite of them. Fact's are that Obama is presiding over the most impotent "recovery" of modern time.
As the article points out - all the dems can offer in defense of there record is lies and distortion. They know that sheep like you will take up the talking points.
Take a look around.... there are hardly any democrats on this site. Too many democrats have already made up their minds for who they want to vote for..... I bet only a few of them are actually watching the convention. As long as Obama keeps handing them stuff, why should they vote for anyone else?
AP has no allegance. Pay a fee and even those not members of AP can post an article. The source is a gutless annon. The conclusion of the article is not surprising since the aim of any political party convention is to smear the opposition.
If you think AP favors one candidate over the other, then you probably are reading only like thinking posts. FYI Fox likes to post annon articles to reference them later in their political commentary shows.
Is this really the best you can do?
You do NOT refute my point at all -- Clinton left Bush better employment numbers than what he was given! Clinton left Bush roses compared to what Bush left Obama.
Recovery has slowd since the GOP took the house... find statistics other than on one of your nut-ball right-wing crazy sites and you'll see this for FACT! Where are those jobs boner premised??? Oh, that's right, they just set a record for least productive House...
Finger pointing is ALL you have. No statistics. No FACTS. Nothing. Your kind just accuse others of lying or whatever when you have NOTHING!!! Just empty words like those you offer above!
Your Faux News is run by a 20 year GOP media consultant and you call educated men such as myself the sheep. LOL. Try being honest with yourself and maybe you can still recover your integrity. Good luck.
PS. thanks for reinforcing our point that this article is critical of Obama. don't think your GOP buddies like this though. LOL
And we all know rating guide the truth.... LMAO! Now see, an intelligent man might ask ---- is Faux feeding me crap I want to hear???
GOP mental midgets ate work. LOL
The most important fact of the article is missed by most people. Jobs are being gained by the private sector and lost in the public sector. That is exactly what should happen.
Less overhead expense is a good thing.

You can't handle the truth.
Wow, the flock are out tonight spouting all these BS numbers, once that great BIG SNOW BALL BUSH left Obama started to roll it's pretty hard to bring it to a stop but OBAMA did, Most Americans except for the Republicans are not that stupid and are aware of all the BS, so you can spin the numbers all you want but guess what no one but yourself believes you.
To Burning Brightly; Replace the word "Obama" with the words "Congressional Republicans" and you've got something there.
@ Patricia Mc ..So you agree Obama is just an empty suit/chair then? If he wins no one will ever let him do anything. Better to have a Gov that does something than nothing at all. You will not loose food stamps the poor will not go hungry. Business will thrive and so will jobs. Republicans create jobs. We will not live with our hands held out. The only drop in manufacturing and sales will be in guns and ammunition.
You know when Paul Ryan was slinging around "half truths" last week I didn't hear a peep from the right about the lies he and the rest of the republicans were speaking. NOW we have an article reporting the "half truths" the dems are stating and they are loving it.
The sad part, Republicans half truths were bigger whoppers than these.
Burning Brightly; I believe your numbers are slightly off.......like all of them. How about reporting the numbers from 2011 and not 2009.......Also nice to see you twisting Patricia's words around but I you are definitely missing the point. It's wasn't Obama BUT congressional republicans that vowed to obstruct any and everything Obama proposed.
An empty suit is one that does NOTHING but signs what congress sends them without looking at it or even challenging it. Kind of like Mitt would be to Grover Norquist. Remember HE's the one that said "All we need is someone with a pen to push out our policies". He was talking about Mitt.....But you knew that huh?
I do believe that if Republicans are elected you will see the rusted wheels of Government start to turn again. If it takes just a single pen to do it then I will take that. I say adjust the height of the chair in the oval office and have a new pac of Bic pens ready. You are right though.Common Sense. The republicans have reduced him to inept inefficiency that has hurt some bills and stopped disasters with others. This will be the same with some Republican ideas. I just want to work and see the economy back on track. I also want to see our service members given every chance possible.
It is odd that the associated press did not bother to have the reporter or writer put his/her/their name to the article. If the person or persons were proud of their article then he/she/they would have put their name to it.
Even the main stream media is not that unpolished.
Just by reading the title alone was to give readers the headsup that this was a hatchet job article by some faux and biased reporting mascarading as presenting truths.
Romney cannot totally close down Planned Parenthood, a private not for profit healthcare organization, whose total funding is not dependent on the govt alone, but he can defund the portion that is given by the federal govt and leave the states to find ways of closing this organization down as some are already trying to do by trying to find ways to not license them as a healthcare provider.
Ryan's budget did reduce medicare to a voucher/coupon program where the elderly with all their preexisting conditions, gets a coupon to go purchase healthcare coverage on the open market from the private for profit health insurance companies and for the elderly to also pay the difference between the value of the coupon/voucher and the actual cost of healthcare coverage. Never heard about giving the elderly the opportunity to participate in a medicare style plan before.... that's new and does not make sense anyway. Why would you give the elderly a coupon/voucher to buy into a new medicare style plan offered by the govt? Something is fishy here. LOL
One other thing .... all those patients in nursing homes paid for by the medicaid program will now be the financial responsibility of the family members or whomever is responsible for that person. If you cannot afford to pay for the person staying in these homes then you can alway take them home and care for them for yourself and go bankrupt in the process.
Talk about rationing care....or death panel T'GOP style. Just remember that assisted suicide is still illegal in the USA ....so far. Of course you could always give the nursing home operator a few chickens as payment for the care of your relative in a coma or with that senile dementia or alsheimers etc.
Who is going to pay for those disabled kids/adults in those assisted living facility once the parents etc run out of money? Wonder how many of these dementia folks will be wandering away from home never to be found until it is too late.
Wonder how many of those 20 odd weeks babies will be kept alive to need intensive care while in the hospital and then assistance for the rest of their lives? Think the parents insurance will be paying for these childrens care after it meets that catastropic maximum? Didn't they used to call these babies the million dollar plus babies because of the cost of their care while in hospital?
The writer(s) is fudging/twisting the info on the jobs numbers and a lot of the other socalled info so as to benefit the T'GOP from the look of things.
Putting it bluntly the article is questionable at best, trying to sell folks a 6 for a 9 at worst.
How about the writers of the article or who ever posted it on the internet be upfront and claim it by putting their name to it? LOL
Whatevva....
Peace..... think...
Not that this will have any affect on the blind stupidity being espoused here, but one of the first things Bush did when he got a Republican congress was to drop unemployment benefits back to 13 weeks. And as we all know, or maybe we don't, if a person isn't drawing benefits they are not included in the figures. See how that works? Only give 'em 13 weeks and you can pretend they aren't there...
We went through years in his administration where manufacturing jobs were siphoned off to China and India with hardly a bleat while Cheney beat the drum of war and unemployment was severely under reported.
You can't possibly compare someone trying to help the unemployed by extending benefits and counting them with someone that spent most of his administration pretending like they didn't exist and ignoring their plight.
@Burning Brightly:
Your statistics are interesting, yet virtually all of them are misleading. You are failing to take into consideration the economic events surrounding the time-frames for one, and secondly you are judging the wrong time frames.
The cataclysmic economic events that unfolded prior to the Obama Presidency are not measured properly with respect to history. Your data lumps all the "bad" that was responsible under his predecessor in with him.
Your data also fails to explain the cause and effect of policies that this administration put in place to effectuate this downfall. The reason you can't do that is because it all occurred on his predecessors watch. All the policies of his administration have been geared towards are making sure the economy didn't go completely over the edge.
Have you ever stopped to think about where we would be today had we done what the Republicans wanted us to do back in early 2009? The answer they had was to lower taxes further for the wealthy to stimulate more jobs. It didn't work the first time and won't work a second time. Virtually every economist in the country agrees that having done nothing would have lead to a depression much more severe than the recession we are in. Unemployment estimates range from 3% - 7% higher than what they currently are. If you are a teacher, cop, fireman or civil servant of any kind, you would most likely find yourself in a new occupation because your job would have evaporated. Remember that of the two largest parts in the stimulus, one of them was direct funding to the States.
I applaud this President for taking the action it did. We might be deeper in debt, but we all feel deeply indebted.
Holy Crap! Someone is going to get their ass fired for allowing this article on NBC!
Wow, these are some weak ass "fact checks."
1.) In the medicare debate the Dems used the 2011 #'s from Ryan's budget, not his new updated 2012 one. /yawn
2.) Dems say "4.5 million private sector jobs created in 29 months." Fact checkers say, "well this ignores jobs lost prior to that 29 month starting point (note, Dems didn't say that) and doesn't include government jobs (note, Dems didn't say that).
3.) Dems say "Romney promised to veto the DREAM act." Fact checkers say, "well, he did say that, but he didn't word it that strongly and didn't discuss some other stuff." /yawn
4.) Dems say "Romney said 'Planned Parenthood, I'd get rid of that' (and I quote!)." Fact checkers say, well, he just promised to cut off federal funding, he can't actually make the place close its doors. /yawn
5.) Dems say "Obama turned healthcare into a right, not a privilege." Fact checkers say, "well, that's actually true, although people will have to pay for it (no @!$%# sherlock)." /yawn
Seriously, after Paul Ryan blatantly lied several times during his RNC speech, apparently fact checkers feel the need to nitpick statements that are predominantly accurate from the DNC just in the guise of "fair and balance."
F'ing YAWN, wake me when the Dems out and out LIE like the Republicans did!
So much of this article is obvious slanted bull. Some of the most obvious examples (but, not all):
1: About the 4.5 millions jobs gained, they fault Obama for starting the count at the bottom out point 29 months ago in the last months of 2009 instead of when he took office. But then THIS ARTICLE says: "lost 8.8 million jobs from the time employment peaked in January 2008 until it hit bottom in February 2010. Between then and this July — the most recent month for which there are figures — just 4 million jobs have been recovered." So they are starting THEIR count in January 2008, a full year before Obama took office!!!! (They did this because Jan 2008 was the PEAK, so will show the highest number of job losses when compared to the bottom of Feb 2010. THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT THEY CRITICIZED FOR OBAMA FOR!! The second obvious problem with the criticism is that if Obama started the calculation earlier then then end of 2009, say January of 2009, then he would be counting job gains and/or losses that he is obviously not responsible for creating or losing - you've got to start SOMEWHERE significantly after January of 2009 when he first walks in the door - each of you can make your own call whether that should be 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, whatever. But, in any case, going back to Jan 2008, A YEAR BEFORE BUSH LEFT OFFICE is patently ridiculous.
2. "While that figure has become a White House talking point, it's only part of the story. It's a selective number that refers just to private sector jobs created in the last 29 months ... Governments — especially state and local ones — have continued shedding jobs. And the claim ignores job losses during Obama's term before the employment picture bottomed out." EXCUSE ME??? Large cuts in PUBLIC sector (GOVERNMENT0 jobs are is the GOAL of the Republicans - they make no excuses for that - they feel that whatever can be handled privately (mail, sanitation, correctional factilities, etc.) should be, and they want to reduce the size of the government at all levels, federal, state and local, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. So, they criticize Obama for using 4.5 million private sector jobs, while ignoring the PUBLIC sector job losses - without mentioning that getting rid of as many public sector jobs as possible is a primary GOAL of the opposition. What would they say if he was able to say "Oh, and we added 3 million public sector jobs also." The obvious outcry would be - typical democrats, always growing government - we need less government, less people working on the taxpayer dime, more people working in the private sector growing the economy." So, by this article's standards, this is a lose-lose for Obama - didn't matter whether the public sector lost or gained jobs - he'd be hammered for either.
3. "Finally, there's no such thing as a "guaranteed" Medicare benefit for the ages, because Congress can change the laws." Again, they've got to be kidding. None of these are constitutional amendments. They're legislation. So, when Republicans pass a new crime bill and they say "This law will guarantee that sexual predators will pay a higher price for their crimes", EVERYONE knows that what they mean is that his law will guarantee this, UNLESS legislation is adopted to change this law. The guarantees made to seniors in the medicaire bill as it now stands is UNDERSTOOD BY EVERYBODY to mean only guaranteed unless legislation is passed to CHANGE THOSE GUARANTEES. Both Republicans and Democrats ALWAYS talk about what they're legislation will guarantee. Everyone knows what they mean. Obama is completely justified in using this language.
4. " During the Republican primaries, Romney did pledge to veto the DREAM Act, a bill that would provide a path to citizenship for many young illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children. But Romney has not said what he would do with Obama's deferred action policy, which allows many young illegal immigrants to avoid deportation for two years and get a work permit. Romney has only said that he would work to create a "civil but resolute" long-term fix to illegal immigration." WOW. I think that when, in the aftermath of the President's action they are referring to - deferred deportation enforcement for those who qualify under this action - when both Romney and Ryan and all their surrogates go on national tv and denounce this as a terrible idea, a violation of the will of the people, blah blah blah, that is safe to assume what they are implying about the action they would take if they won the election. They're critical of Obama for making that assumption??? They think Romney and Ryan are considering whether they are wrong, and maybe Obama's idea was really good after all??? This article is way nuts.
I could go on and on. There are DOZENS of other examples of nutty, off-the-wall bogus criticism. Those who don't like Obama won't care, and will eat this up no matter whether it's obviously ridiculous or not. But, that doesn't change the fact that it's obvious.
I find it quite amusing to see the Liberals here get all bent outta shape because someone in the AP actually did their job as a journalist. "Wait, you aren't sposta do that to us! Just to the Republicans!" Well, I think the writing is on the wall. They know that if they don't start telling some facts here, they won't have jobs anymore. This election is more important that most of you on the Left realize. We are at a crossroads and once we head further down the path of distruction with Obama and the socialists, there is no going back. Most logical thinking people realize that and are prepared to vote a real leader in. I forsee a landslide victory for Mitt Romney. Why? Take a look at what happened here in the wonderful state of Wisconsin. Scott Walker was voted in and did EXACTLY what he said he would do. The left went wild. Teachers leaving schools and bringing students to their rally. The capitol was destroyed. Unions bussed laid off workers in to show "support". Millions of dollars were spend to get him RECALLED. The silent majority voted for him again, this time he actually gained more support. Like I said, people have realized that it's time for a real leader. A fiscal responsible leader who cares about the tax payers, not just the ones who live off the tax payers. Change is coming, but not the kind Obama has been preaching. WE THE PEOPLE WILL PREVAIL.
Democrats are lying, cheating, mooching, welfare recipient losers.
Doesn't fit the backwoods trailer trash image????
i don't think you should look down on people that receive welfare dude. also, i know some dems that make quite a bit of dough.
If you know dems that make quite a bit of dough, why aren't they paying their fair share? your dem freinds need to pay more!!!!
And yes I have every right to make fun of people on welfare and look down on them. The people that use it are leeches!! They don't contribute, they only take!!!! If you don't want to be made fun of or looked down on, then get off welfare!!!
Obama gutted welfare saying you no longer have to work in order to collect welfare!! BS!!
JOBS -- Obama adds 4 Million in just the past 2.5 years (THIS AFER BUSH LOSING 750K PER MONTH WHEN HE LEFT!) Thank You Mr. Obama. GOP WIL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP YOU FROM KNOWING THIS!!!
more trash
Haddock....dems are trying to pass laws to make the rich pay their fair share, repubs Ryan and Romney want the middle class and poor to pay for more tax breaks for the rich........Are you on that space vehicle that landed on Mars?.......What you are whining about is not happening on this planet!
Funny to laugh at repubs and dems who lost their jobs because of your greedy rich friends crashing the economy? Would love to see you try and laugh in their faces when these guys have to apply for them...
Obama did not remove work, for welfare...you are TOTALLY IGNORANT OR A LIAR, I give you only two choices to answer as those are the only two choices for your rant!
noison - i KNOW, you "won't let fact checkers run your campaign." enjoy your world of enchantment. LOL
Rob, Thats like saying all GOP are redneck, hillbillies, who sleep with their in-laws, racists who dont know slavery times are over.
Just shows that you live in a small uneducated world where the magical GOP elephant with wings blessed anyone thats not a dem with money and no problems with life
how do people still believe this nonsense LIE. Obama did nothing of the sort.
Sheesh!!
Hmmm, "Obama gutted welfare saying you no longer have to work in order to collect welfare!! BS!!"
Yeah, right. Most of the requests for "waivers" came from Republican Governors - when Romney was gov of Massachusetts he was one of the governors who sent in a formal request for waivers. The plan Obama approved allows waivers from following the strict letter of the regulations, only if they show a plan that should improve welfare-to-work success by at least 20% over sticking with the regulations as they are. AND, even if a state is granted a waiver, if the 20% doesn't actually pan out, they LOSE the waiver.
Yup, Romney was really trying to gut welfare-to-work when he asked for that waiver. Yup. You betcha.
Too many lies on here, so I'll just call out BULL@!$%# on the republicans LIES.
Nice to see AP has finally outed itself and officially joined the pro-Romney camp. It's biased reporting in favor of Romney has been obvious for months. And Cheryllm, you apparently don't know what Ms. Fluke has been talking about so best not show any further ignorance on these posts.
She's an anti-abortionist so it doesn't matter what Ms. Fluke talked about, she hates her anyway just like Rush.
AP is still combing the hills for the WMD.
Keep up the bible thumping pregnancy at any cost and you'll lose the entire female voting public.
WHy do liberals think Republicans want to take their birth control away? Thats a total lie.
Republicans want to take away tax payer funded birth control! Why should I have to pay for someone elses birth control? Why should I in Arizona pay for someones birth control in Detroit? That makes no sense!!
Noone is taking away your birth control. If you want it, than YOU pay for it. You don't ask for everyone else to pay for the gasoline in your car do you? or pay for your shoes? Or pay for your haircuts? Maybe those should be rights too? Should those all be free? I bet you think so!!
funny how the dems talk about how the repubs will take womens rights to their own bodies....did anybody bother to read obama care? it limits abortion and birth control to government discretion lol they accuse the repubs of trying to do what theyve already done! lmao sheep
if women they get free birth control pills then men should get free Cialis or what ever it is called : )
Men do get free what ever you call them (viagra, cialis, other name brands as well) and birth control pills are used for other purposes than procreation i.e., irregular menstrual cycles, hormone defficiencies etc. which have absolutely nothing to do with pregnancy or abortion. Of course, the opposite concerning men does not apply, they just need a woody to force their dominance over the women in their lives and to satisfy that blueball disease they are suffering from. I side with those women who want the government to stay out of their health care issues.
Burning did idiocy come natural to you or did you have to work hard at it?
Let me get this straight...you think that if women get free birth control pills (which btw I think every man should be for and if you're not you're and idiot) then men should get something that promotes more pregnancy. Oh I see what your adolescent mind is coming up with, since we pay for their anti pregnancy pills then we can use something to have more sex with them. Are you for real? And btw don't give me that "or whatever it's called" garbage. I think you know from experience full well what's it's called.
Honestly is that the best you can come up with?
And freelyradical1 you're a braniac as well I guess...let me point out one thing that's not included in "obamacare"...personhood. And btw when you make claims about something, post it lets see it. You should have no problem doing that because you've indicated that you HAVE read it and the rest of the so-called "sheep" haven't. A lemming calling others a sheep...there's the cliffside, go for it.
Hey Budster you seem so angry? I would just like something for free for once.I never get anything for free and would like to sign up. If you would learn to comprehend what you read and process your thoughts then you would see I said if they get the birth pills then we should get the Cialis. Why not? No one gets pregnant and everyone has fun. You are an idiot that reads what they want and jump conclusions. Now you may bash my post with your three I mean two brain cells.
I own a business and work hard paying all my taxes and Insurance and trying to keep people employed and paid. I guess you hate that too.
Why do I in Detroit have to pay for your faith based initiatives?
I'll tell you what, you give up your free religion at my expense and I'll give up my birth control at yours. Be careful how you choose. Hint: One side has a lot more to lose here than the other...
Free Birth Control.
Why do you change the oil in your car? You want to make sure it doesn't break down?
Why should we provide free birth control to anybody? How much does it cost in comparison to having to pay for delivering a baby? How much does it cost to have to take care of an unwanted pregnancy? Food, clothing, shelter, education, social services, etc. If they can't afford birth control, how in the world are they ever going to afford the basic necessities of life? Oh, that's right - they can't. I guess when you think about the bigger long-run picture, it might make sense.
I don't want to give away free birth control to anybody. I would much rather spend that money someplace else.
hey Mj--it isn't about religion half bake, it is about paying your own damn way. Nobody pays for my birth control and why should they. Get a clue!!
This entire article twists the facts to make a case for the repukes and RMoney. At least the AP is finally out with it.
Obama/Biden 2012
Featured speaker...Fluke...AMAZING...
The Dems have moved so far to the left, it's obvious they've realized that Independents and centrists are going to vote based on Obama's record, and they're throwing red meat at their "base" to try to get them to turn out.
Dismal fundraising.
Cancelling Obama's speech at the stadium because they couldn't fill it...
And now this Fluke CLOWN wanting taxpayers to pay for SEX CHANGE OPERATIONS?
BIZZAAARROOO......
A recent AP Article confirmed that one of the biggest flaws in the Affordable Care Act is rapidly appearing. People in large numbers, who do not have insurance, are buying it in three month increments after they become sick or injured, as there is no "preexisting condition" clause, and then dropping it once they recover. The insurance companies are getting hit hard by this legal, yet unethical loophole, often paying out in excess of $10,000 for medical expenses and collecting only a few hundred dollars in premiums.
The Obama administration was warned over and over again of this possibility, yet ignored it. The existence of the loophole appeared in the press so often that many quickly learned how to use it. Yet the Obama administration, continued to bury its head in the sand and continues to ignore it.
If the loophole continues, insurance companies will be taking loses which will become greater and greater as more people become aware of and use the loophole. If Obamacare is to continue, as conceived, it will have to allow insurers to raise rates. Which would cause all, who carry insurance, to pay the increased rates so as to subsidized those taking advantage of the loophole. Further, with the insurance companies taking loophole loses do not expect the rebate checks in the future as they are based on the collection of fixed premiums as compared to claims experience. The 80% will be gone and and you can expect poorer service from your carrier. Increased costs will force them to lay off administrative personal.
This loophole, unless closed will destroy the Affordable Care Act. As more and more people become aware of it, more and more, people will drop their insurance and the carriers will be forced out of the healthcare business forcing the government to subsidize all healthcare. If the loophole is closed by denying coverage to those with preexisting conditions then one of the major goals of the Affordable Car Act is out the window and Obamacare goes.
A revamp will only save Obamacare and the American people from continuing escalating costs and I doubt that such a revamp is possible without increasing the tax (penalty) so that it equals the cost of insurance, which the people will not accept, or doing away with "preexisting condition" coverage.
I hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.
I think that this is already being compensated for. My health insurance premiums have tripled in the last three years for no change in coverage except increasing my deductible. Clinton said that healthcare costs have decreased since Obama passed this -- I wonder who for? My spouse went in for a cardiogram and his "share" was $650 (after the deductible). Repeal & REPLACE! Keep the good and get rid of the loopholes (and kickbacks, and opt-outs, etc.! R/R2012
John Haddock
We pay for contraceptives for women in the same way we are paying for Viagra for men.
Here's the difference. If a man can't screw, we have less chance of unwated pregnancies. If we provide women contraceptives we will have less unwanted pregnancies and those guys that need Viagra can screw them with less unwanted pregnancies and less abortions. I call it WIN WIN.
If everyone took care of their own crap.... NOBODY would have to pay Fed Taxes.... There would be more than enough in federal leases, permits and import/export tarriffs to cover our nut... You all are idiots to turn to the feds for anything. It's like hiring a massive heavy construction company to replace your toilet paper roll. Don't you all feel your state is taking enough from you as is? The price of gas has doubled in 3 years.... Isn't that enough taxes?
Look...I dont believe in abortion..for myself. I do however believe in choice. I dont have the right to tell someone else how they should make decisions about their own bodies..no one does. We were all born equal and the same so we should have the right to make our own choices. I do however believe in birth control. It is less expensive to provide affordable Birth control then to have unwanted children that people cant afford to raise. Birth control is not THAT expensive people..for god sakes a packet of pills is less then 5 bucks. And I dont think that abortion should be used as a form of birth control..you no..where girls keep getting pregnant and getting abortions rather then just taking a precautionary pill? Abortion should be kept legal but there needs to be some guidelines.
Also guys you cant have it both ways. You want to bed the girl but you dont want to take any precautions to keep her from getting pregnant?? Your just being irresponsible self centered and stupid. It takes 2 to tango..you need to be held responsible too. I hear all you repub.s talking about banning birth control but I dont hear you saying anything about men taking responsibilty for their actions or affairs.
That's because most of the people here are on the dole in one way or another and want more -- squeezing the hardworking taxpayers to death. Am sick and tired of paying the way for those that do not contribute to society!
^this x 10! I'll repeat my post from above:
Think last night was bad ? Just wait until tonight.
More promises to be broken, more smoke and mirros, and more distortions will fill the circus air. Wait a minute, Mr. Obama needs four more years to complete his 2008 campaign promises (I really liked the one about cutting the deficit in half).
Mr. Ex-President Clinton made history last night....bowing to a current President of the United States of America. IF, and that is a big IF, Mr. Obama is re-elected, will we have a coronation ?
What women and men need are good and decent women and men to join together and form families that create stronger healthier happier children with an often brighter future because the women / men put the children first. What the women, men, children do NOT need is a self-center political party that finds ways to divide and conquer through policies any cohesive unit that thrives.
Hey, republicans!! Stay the @!$%# out of my (and ALL WOMEN) business. Try learning about how a woman's body actually works (not that idiotic republican crap that occasionally gets out) and tell me how YOU would feel if a POLITICIAN tried to control YOUR body? Jesus Christ, some on the right are total morons when it comes to women's physiology.
lib50,
Jesus Christ is diety to many people. Have some respect.
This country is doomed, the citizenry are intellectually lazy idiots. America deserves to go away, a foolish populace is undeserving of that which they inherited from scholars and patriots.
no kidding, I just found out yesterday, that Comcast in their area give reduced internet service for house holds with kids getting free lunch. Are you freaking kidding me?? What is next free TV. So sick of paying everyones way. Get a damn job!!
Free Cell Phones, TV and Net for the poor in California.... Look at your cell/cable bill. We pay for it. Without it they couln't find a job. Or should I say without it they would have to get a job.
Not sure how you dolts figure you are paying for anything for anyone else. If Comcast decides to offer it, how in any way does that mean you are paying for it? You think you are entitled to Comcasts profits or should have a say in how they do business? Sounds like big government ideas from you guys. And Wacko, fitting name by the way, I have Comcast, and NO we aren't paying for it. Grasping this morning I see. I bet the drug stores had a rush on depends last night after all you whiners peed your pants. LOL
Is that a question? Seriously? Or sarcasm. Do you think Comcast is reducing their profits so that poor people can have cable? Uh...no.
Look Liberal Shellie, WE THE TAX PAYERS, end up paying for everything in one way or another. Nothing is free. If the price is reduced for one and not for another, the other is paying for the reduction. Businesses don't give out freebies because they are kind and thoughful. It's more government subsidies that are forced upon the people who still actually pay income taxes. Soon, we will have half a nation that pays income taxes, and the other half who collects from it. That is our breaking point. There is no going back from there. We will have a mass exodus. People with money will leave and the balance will shift even more. Funds will dry up and government will have to cut back permanently. We will see riots worse than Europe. It's time to do what's right. Time to be responsible and vote real leadership into the most powerful position in the world. Vote for Mitt this November and give our nation a real chance. Keep the idea alive. God bless the USA(I know you libs hate to hear that)
Vouchers will end medicare for those who can't afford to cover the inevitable difference in cost. So, yes, Republicans are planning to end the medicare guarantee of being covered to those multitude of seniors who cannot afford an additional $6K/year. How difficult is that to understand?
ejbr you really need to read the article! One of the points is tell you liars that this is not true.
Also if disaster happens and obama is reelected he will have to make some changes in medicare if it is to survive!
again please read the article your liberalism and ingorance are showing you for what you are.
@Shawn - We Americans have been scrxwed. Politicians should have addressed this decades ago (planning for the retirement of the Baby Boomer Generation). Now we have two choices: Vouchers (stinks but we get something possibly) or "Let'er go broke." Great choices...
Well at least Medicare would survive Shawn, that's more than we can say about what Romney/ Ryan will do to it! Seniors who wouldn't be grandfathered in, IF they told the truth about even that, are totally screwed if they get in and put their voucher system into effect!! Of course the Insurance companies will clean up!
I love how liberals claim vouchers to send their kids to different public schools is a great idea.
But vouchers for medical care is a bad idea!!
Even after this article, liberals are still lying about the Ryan plan for Medicare. LOL thats hilarious!!
Whats funny, is that under the current obama medicare plan, Medicare will be broke in the mid 2020s. LOL where is Obamas plan to fix it? he doesn't have one even on the table!!!
Romney/Ryan = Medicare done by 2016 Obama/Biden =Medicare good through 2024. Period. Set. Match. Eat it you voter suppressing, liars. To think that soldiers died for our freedoms, only for Republicans to lie, steal, and suppress. You should feel ashamed of yourselves. But your too obtuse to do that, so I won't hold my breath.
The liberal hysteria is really starting to show. A news organization actually pointed out the lies and the only response the likes of ejbr can come up with is to double down on the lie. A statement like "done in 2016" is a prima facia lie - besides the fact that anything that Romney/Ryan are proposing is just that ... a proposal. One that needs to be negotiated through both houses of Congress.
Until then, no one of good faith can say what it will cost or whether is will end. On the other hand, with Obamacare, it is a matter of law and record that it will cost $2.6T and cut $716B from Medicare. Those are facts.
LOL now you have a liar on here two posts up stating that if romney gets elected medicare will be done in 4 years?
LOL oh how the libs are getting desperate. I would ask you to defend your facts on how you came up with 2016, but I know you have none. No media outlet in the the US has stated that.
To many conservative true talking points on this page. They are going to collapse if it you all are not careful... If it is right it will be left... out.
John Haddock liar! Solvency for medicare guaranteed until 2024, but liar Ryan wants to take that 716 million and put it in the pocket of the wealthy (like they are suffering so badly) rather than investing it back into healthcare for seniors. Does your mom know you are posting this crap?, she should take your ear and twist it right off your empty head.
Burningbrightly all Erectile Dysfunction meds are covered by health insurance where birth control is not i dont know about you but free birth control seems like a good thing if you had a teenage daughter over 13 there is a good chance now days that she is sexually active now would you prefer the health department provides her with birth control or that she gets pregnant at 15 and has to quit school and work to support her baby or not quit school and you end up taking care of the baby and any normal teen life she may have had will be for the most part gone either way. Yeah you can preach abstinence but you were a teen once just like i was and everyone else was and most generations that went through their teen years from the 60s to now have progressively started being sexually active sooner and sooner so talk until you are blue in the face but i know as a teen i did what i wanted as many do now and i would prefer my daughter be on birth control and know she will not end up pregnant now you say fine then you pay for her birth control well thats fine but some people may not be able to afford it so those individuals are going to have no choice to prevent a teen pregnancy? that doesnt seem right to me. Also not everyone on welfare is a leech I had 7 brothers and sisters my Dad made decent money but not enough for all of us so yes we got food stamps but my dad worked full time 6 days a week to be able to afford everything else for all of us and thankfully welfare helped provide us with enough food that we could eat decent meals. I was making 36000 a year not a hefty sum i know but decent for my area and i still needed a little help each month to pay for food i was only getting about 120 dollars a month on the vision card but without it we would not have been able to get by a full month on food after all the bills we had to pay I worked hard and a lot of times i was working 12-17 hour days as a Grain Elevator Superintendent that was during summer and fall harvest all the while on salary getting no overtime I busted my ass to provide for my family and that little bit of extra help got us through so not all welfare recipients are lazy frauds who dont want to work I think that is an unfair almost bigoted view on welfare recipients and the welfare program in general. I am astonished at the number of supporters romney/ryan are getting with the back peddling on issues proven outright lies and overall complacency they seem to have with the average americans plight you need to go be a fool somewhere else myself i am a realist and see things for how they are and i am in full support of another 4 years of the 2nd best thing to happen to our government since the 70s the best being Bill Clinton. Obama/Biden 2012
I am waiting.... Go back and look again what the title to this article was. Come November we either continue with nothing or we try something. Either way I am going on holiday. I am not bitter and support the office just not all the people in it.
It was addressed. It's just that Congress, seeing that big ole heap o' money couldn't keep their fingers out of the till. The unchecked rise in the cost of health-care isn't helping. No one wants to touch that one because big healthcare insurance is one of the largest lobbies in Washington.
The simple thing to do is cap the amount they can raise cost but no one is going to do that. It will never happen.
As Elizabeth Warran so eloquently put it, the game is rigged. She didn't mention we the electorate are always the losers.
Under Obama's plan Medicare ENDS in 12 years. 10 years before I might need it. Geeee glad I paid all that money into it....
Just waiting for your handout huh Wacko. That's really the bottom line with you whiners. You wantYOUR freebies.
Let's see. Out of all the people I am going to believe, the Indian or is it White person or what is she today, Elizabeth Warren, is not who I am going to believe.
I don't really see how it's twisting the job numbers and GOP Medicare plans.
Sure, they omitted the job losses, but the truth is the jobs have been created. And while the Medicare fact may have been based on Ryans 2011 plan, even just saying it's changed for 2012 still doesn't explain what Mitt Romney and Ryan will choose to do once elected.
By quoting the 2011 plan, it's the first proposal he made before trying to tailor himself for VP nomination. At least there weren't blatant lies or misrepresentations of the truth, and at least the Dems are explaining policy instead of promising it.
Kinda like, "I didn't have sex with her!", that kind of thinking???
Right there ... I want to know their true intentions before they are seated in positions of power. I want to know if Mitt Romney is a felon before he should even be considered for this job, not after.
Obama/Biden 2012
Hey, where ARE Romney's fricken tax returns, anyway? What the hell is he hiding?
There is only one reason you liberals want to see Romney's tax returns......It's to take the focus off of Obama and his record of failure. That's it. We all know he's rich. We all know he made money. We all know he paid the legal amount of taxes.(if he didn't, he wouldn't have been trying to become prez) We all know he came from money but did you know he's more charitable than all you Democrats combined? He's self made and that upsets you all so much. You want everyone to have to rely on Government. WE THE PEOPLE will show you liberals that we don't agree with you, we don't want to be on the dole, we don't want a liar in the highest office in our nation and we do want a leader. That leader is Mitt Romney. Learn to like hearing that because it's all you will know for the next 8 years. You made your bed, now lie in it. Liars.
lib50, where are Obama's collage transcripts? Whats he hiding?
So funny to see the Republican haters spouting off the fox lines in lockstep with their agenda. Because the GOP convention in general and Romney/Ryan in particular have been proven to be speaking lie after lie after lie in an effort to lie their way right into office. Ryan even lied about how long it took him to run a marathon. You people are being used and like the simple tools you are, don't even see it.
I think this article is about Dems lying ya moron.
They twist it whatever way suits their needs calmconservative. They just don't get it.
This article is a twisted misrepresentation of the truth, the democrats did not lie, they might have not filled in every blank in the time given, this was after all a convention speech for the democrats, what the hell did you expect "ya moron", like that has not been the modus operandi of the republican party??? right.......This article should be considered a slanted misrepresentation and nothing more "ya moron".
Calmconservative...I hate to break it to you but he was talking about the rest of you not the article, moron.
Jodeper yea that's the pot calling the kettle black.
And bocatennis seriously you should take some advice. It's better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Bahh what's the use I should know better than to even begin to argue with fools. You'll just bring me down to your level of idiocy and beat me with experience. Say what you want I'm done here.
Davidxavier, you are proof that Dems hate women and have a war on women, especially thinking women. Is it because they are so much more intelligent than you. Is it because they threaten your Bohemian man world by being intelligent and independent. Is it because they refuse to drink your koolaid and become stupid also? I think it is all of the above. Go back to your liberal friends crying while the intelligent adults finish discussing this.
KC, women, myself included can judge for OURSELVES what the GOP is doing! And it IS an assault on our rights!! They've even enshrined an anti-abortion stance in their party platform with NO EXCEPTIONS!! They voted AGAINST the Paycheck Fairness Act recently as well! The GOP is so far out of the main stream in their thoughts it's pathetic!!
Nora,
the vine has an article showing how the POTUS own staff is not being paid equally. Watch out for all that glass your stepping on.
Obama lobbied FOR the act and I'm SURE that if he were to try to give women in the government a raise the Republicans would have raised a holy stink about it. They sure lobbied AGAINST the bill and EVERY single one in the Senate voted against it!!
I want to know what Nora thinks is her right?
You think tax payer abortion is your right? You think tax payer birth control is your right? you think tax payer mammograms is your right?
LOL
Cool, Testicular exams are my right!! If you don't want to pay for it, then you are denying my rights! Nora, will you gladly pay for my testicular exams?
Nora, if you want birth control, pay for it yourself. If you want an abortion, pay for it yourself. If you want a mammogram, pay for it yourself. Stop being a leach, and expecting me to pay it for you!! Grow up!!
I employ 90 high-paid workers at my software company. If Obama (or anyone) ever passes some dumba_ss law that requires me to pay women the same as men, then I will lower everyone's pay. I pay my people on merit not their sex. I know hundreds of other business owners and they do the same. This would be the dumbest law of all-time. Thank God it has zero chance of ever passing.
Liberals. God love em! LMFAO!!
sure you do bobster.
Seriously Nora!! I'm a women and that freakin' crazy Fluke lunatic is completely offensive! If I were on the fence I'd definitely not fall on that side!! We are here in 2012 Nora, are you aware of that? Roe v Wade is from 1973 Nora, are you aware of that? Roe v Wade hasn't changed in 40 freakin' years Nora, are you aware of that? Are you aware that the current abortion law is in your favour??? Last but not least, pay for your own @!$%#! How the hell do we rewind a gajillion years to all this womens lib crap anyway? First-wave feminism started in the late 18th century for fricks sake...time to move on to more important things like, ummmmmm quit making me pay for your birth control crap, get a job and stop living off the rest of us... GAWD what is wrong with people!!!!!
Ugh!!
Chicagogal - What's wrong with people a one word answer - YOU
Why because you are a totally uninformed woman - get rid of the term "Birth Control" and replace it with Hormonal Replacement
These so called birth control pills are used for various female complications Regulating heavy flow of the menses - in many cases in young females
Now you seem to be a bright albeit somewhat vulgar person - but you do have access to the computer - do your own research
Plus as an ex-Chicagoan - I am totally ashamed of you
And bocatennis - friend of Chicagogal - you too should have a Biology 101 class
This is medicine same as any prescribed treatment by a doctor
PS you can't buy this over the counter it must be doctor prescribed - unlike your call now and get your free Cyallis
Practice safe sex and it will not be an issue.
Not a chance you're a woman. A woman would never react this way to Sandra Fluke. It would be very difficult for the things she said not to resonate with most women, they are so basic and simple. A woman might not agree with her, but this kind of venom over something so simply stated can only come from a man... or a boy.
You've just suggested we roll the clock back to the 18th century when women had no rights. Really? I mean really?
Sure you're a woman.
How does being opposed to abortion on demand turn the clock back to the 18th century?
I think just the opposite. Democrats seem to believe that women just aren't quite up to the task of taking care of themselves and the government and the rest of society should have pay for their "mistake" if they get knocked up.
If pregnancy threatens the mother's life, that's one thing. I can even see the argument if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. But Sandra Fluke? A law student who can't figure out how to keep from getting pregnant? Who can't figure out how to scrounge up $9.00 a month to go to Walmart and buy the pill? Oh please.
Is she really that dumb and ineffectual? If this is the future of the liberal mindset, the dems are in trouble.
Actually, I am a woman... in case you are unable to read, I stated that women's rights started back in the 18th century and we've come a long way since then (if you need me to spell it out), it's 2012 for goodness sake! In this day and age do we really need to be painting the picture that the Republicans hate women???? That's just so ridiculous, it's hard to comprehend. Just because I'm a women it doesn't automatically insert me into the liberal herd of sheep. We all have to pay for ALL our OTHER medicine, do we not? How does cutting the funding to birth control turn the Republicans into a - women hating, women bashing, no rights for women party. It's utterly incomprehensible and the fact that you buy into it is just as.... well never mind it might be to "vulgar".
And yes "Barbara Adams Jackson", there is definitely pent up "venom", the mere fact that we are making women's rights such a colossal issue in this election in the 20th century is just inexplicable. There is no difference in you paying for your Xanax and Prozac than paying for your birth control, correct? Why should the rest of the tax payers be required to pay for it? Oh, and let me use my bright and vulgar personality for this little bit of research on my accessible computer:
Freeloading; To take advantage of the charity, generosity, or hospitality of others.
Who's this "we" you speak of gal? You got a mouse in your pocket? Oh, you are talking about you and your republican cohorts. Well sweetie pie, if you don't want it to be an issue may I suggest you keep your yap shut about it and encourage your republican officials to not storm like gangbusters on required vaginal probes and publicly state they intend to push for person hood which would ban forms of birth control. Nothing more amusing than dimwits who shoot themselves then whine about it after the fact. Congrats, hope you have insurance to heal your self inflicted wound.
@ Shellie "sweetie pie" with the obnoxious yap:
Sandra Fluke is a birth control zealot. She’s a third year law student at Georgetown, a Roman Catholic university. She enrolled there knowing the school would not pay for contraception in their student health plans. Her entire reason for attending Georgetown seems to have been to stir the pot on the contraception issue, which she has done. She attempted to testify at a Congressional hearing on the matter this week, only to be denied by Republicans. She has since gone on to hold a press conference with Nancy Pelosi. As a result of the presser Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, which seemed dubious to as she looks like one of Limbaugh’s early 90′s uglo-Americans.
Fluke alleged that birth control costs $3,000 a year. She has since started claiming it cost $1,000 a year. Of course Fluke could go down to her local Wal-Mart where she can walk away with a month’s worth of the pill for between $5-20. That comes out to $60-240 per year, far less than the $1,000 she’s peddling now. It isn’t even close to the $3,000 she originally suggested. Of course there’s nothing stopping Miss Fluke from buying these products herself. She has every right to, no one has suggested that the government ban women from buying contraception.
But that’s exactly what Fluke and the Democrats want you to think. They want you to believe the Republicans want to ban birth control. That simply isn’t the case, no one has ever proposed such a thing. What the GOP wants to do is protect the free exercise clause of the Constitution. The Roman Catholic Church, and any number of protestant churches, believe contraception is a sin. They therefore won’t pay for it as part of their health plans. There’s nothing stopping women with one of these religious health plans from buying contraception on their own of course. But you wouldn’t know that listening to Fluke and Pelosi.
Miss Fluke made a decision to attend a Roman Catholic university. She wants all the benefits of a Georgetown education but she is unwilling to put up with what she considers a drawback. Georgetown law costs $45,000 a year plus room and board. Their student health care plan, which appears to be voluntary, costs between $1,900-8,700. Miss Fluke is likely single so she would be on the low end of that. If Georgetown were forced by the government to provide contraception, it would only increase the price of student health insurance. In short Miss Fluke would pay for it anyway.
The issue here isn’t whether Miss Fluke pays for contraception or not, it certainly isn’t whether she’s a slut or whether she wants other people to pay for her promiscuous activity. The issue here is that Miss Fluke wants to force a church to pay for her contraception and thus she wants to destroy the church’s free exercise of their faith. That’s what this is all about. Miss Fluke is going to pay for contraception one way or another. She’s either going to pay for it out of pocket or she’s going to pay for it via an increase in health insurance premiums. What her goal and the goal of the Democrats is has nothing to do with contraceptive freedom. It has everything to do with government power over religious institutions.
Miss Fluke will gain a lot of sympathy because Limbaugh called her a slut. Obama apparently called her and the left as usual is on the rampage against Rush. All of that masks what the Democrats are trying to do. They want the power to sweep aside the First Amendment so they can order the church universal to do something which it is morally opposed to. That’s what this whole issue is really all about. It has nothing to do with contraception, which every woman can buy at Wal-Mart cheaply. It’s about getting the tentacles of government into the church. Where it leads from here, if the Democrats are successful, one can only begin to imagine.
Seneca Falls New York - 1848
Shellie, some of us have spent time trying to moderate the right to life planks in the Republican Platform.
And we weren't told to shut our traps. I agree with Chicago Gal about paying for your own birth control.
When I was a poor college student - I went to Planned Parenthood for subsidized, virtually free BC pills. That was 20 years ago. Not a new idea - Ms Fluke and her friends should be able to find a PP office somewhere near the school.
On another note - hormonal replacement? Barb - Have you noticed the rise in prescriptions for depression medication? Do you know that the hormones in the Pill affect your brain chemicals, not just your reproductive? Gee, is there a correlation?
As far as the War on Women is concerned - "We have met the enemy, and SHE is us".
Chicagogal - well put! It is insane that this grad student thinks she is entitled to free birth control. Is she entitled to free allergy medicine because she is allergic to the trees on the Georgetown campus too? I guess condoms should be free to everyone as well. I'm sure the folks at Trojan would just love that. To say that women should receive free birth control because impotency drugs for men are free is like saying well that boxer can beat the crap out of a guy for money, so why can't I beat the crap out of someone for free? Two wrongs don't make a right...just highlights the crux of what's wrong with the system and society. Now, should Rush have called her a slut, probably not. But that's Rush - he says stupid stuff and everyone laughs at his ignorance. Ms. Fluke is just as ignorant, expecting a Roman Catholic University to bow to her 'poilitcally correct' fueled public rants.
I find it interesting the unemployment numbers are based on NEW claims filed! How about how many lost their unemployment because they used their resources up?? I am a registered Democrat but I do not find this party is doing anything for the middle income Americans who work hard to earn a living & keep their homes. I am approaching retirement age & in the healthcare field - Obamacare and his lack of respect for people who have worked almost 50 years paying taxes, Social Security, and Medicare out of each & every check are now going to see their Medicare premiums jump almost 100% over the next few years while healthcare is given free to people who entered country illegally & have not contributed one cent to the funds! I am proud to be a hard working American who has earned every penny by hard work and the desire to make life better for my family- now it looks like as I get ready to retire I will be paying even more to "enjoy the privilege" of supporting those who would rather sit back & collect services of the backs of others. What ever happened to Personal Responsibility and Pride of Accomplishment???
Kat,
I'm truly sorry that you will have to face this in your future, it really is a terrible situation that we are facing. I hope that someone (preferably Romney :) at least tries to make some headway so that you can enjoy your retirement. I think it's awful that this new generation really does prefer to live off the backs of others, it's so sad. Best of luck to you..
Wow some media outlets are actually starting to call the Democrats out on their BS? Maybe 2012 really is the end of the world.
There is a special place in hell for Cecile Richards, right next to Hitler.
Democrats twisting facts and fudging numbers?
Say it isn't so !
@calm is anyone REALLY surprised?
Can't believe the Dem party, even Michelle stretched the truth about the car being rusty. Obama was working for a law firm at the time. Dems will lie about anything to get reelected. This DNC is nothing but blame Romney and hide from the truth of their terrible economic situation. This is truly the worst DNC ever. Don't even think that Bill Clinton will bring this party back from the dead - it is DOA. The numbers they are giving on jobs is incorrect and no one in the democratic party could even say "we are better off than 4 years ago."
Romney/Ryan 2012 and God Bless America - something the Dems took away from platform but had to change their minds on - geez this party is screwed totally.
If an impeached President is their keynote speaker, what else needs to be said.
Better than and old has-been actor, talking to and empty chair!! I bet you are not a millionaire so Misfit Mitt and Lying Ryanwill screw you too. You're just to stupid to realize it.
Rburn - your right most of us aren't rich but I live in the blue state of Massachusetts and I've seen the state sales tax go up here and Deval Patrick is trying to change our state income tax from a straight tax to a progressive tax so I can pay more for the state deadbeats. Unlike you I don't have class envy but I'm tired of supporting the deadbeats who decide to have children when they can't support them. I'm tired of the left always pandering for votes by coming up with another government program for the giveme crowd. What i would like is to keep more of my money so I can provide for myself.
I rest my case. A pos scum screwing anything that moves with his wife in the next room as he is acting President and you think that is better than an acting icon in this country. Tells you where your ethics are.
I never knew folks that made $200 thousand a year were millionaires. Is that socialist Obama math?
Amen. I'm glad there was a football game on tonight. I know I would be bored to tears listening to a President who was impeached supporting the incumbent whose aunt was ordered deported in 2004 because she was here illegally and she continued to hide in Boston after President was elected. Why should the illegal aliens have to follow the law when the Presidents Aunt broke the law and stayed in America illegally. You bet I am going to vote in November to see if we can turn this scik economy around.
Kim - Since you know so much about the Obamas- you missed the fact - that what Michelle said is that he was offered high powered jobs , but instead he worked as a Community Organizer
I know you and your friends have made that a derisive occupation - however last I looked pay in helping other people - doesn't get you the millions as would a Vulture Capitalist
Barbara you are right but now he is in the 1% category ?? That is a democratic talking point right? Romney earned his in business. Obama earned his through government. Simple.
Wow it's nice to see you have such a keen grasp of the issues. I mean this REALLY important stuff you're spewing. I'm certainly glad someone has the incisive insight to laser in on this stuff the rest of us could miss while we're... oh I don't know, trying to feed our children or something.
No surprise we're where we are today with sharp tools like you wandering the country.
The article tries to make the contrast between what the speakers said and what the facts are and here is one example:
"Pelosi: "Under President Obama, we've gone from losing 800,000 jobs a month to adding 4.5 million private sector jobs over the last 29 months."
The facts: While that figure has become a White House talking point, it's only part of the story. It's a selective number that refers just to private sector jobs created in the last 29 months, from the trough of the recession through July."
HUH? Oh, I see. Thank you.
@ acspore, what makes it misleading isnt the creation number, but the omission of the 8.8 millon jobs lost to 4 million created worst job creation numbers since ww2 dont believe romneys a great pick by any means but Id wager he'll be better for the economy than the current moron in chief, you can slice it up any way you want to but in the end its about money and lets face it like it or not romneys got more experience at making it than obama we cant redistribute it untill we have it, if that helps you!
acspore - And the complete story is not even been told
If the newly elected Republican Governors didn't go on a campaign to fire workers in the public sector in an effort to keep the unemployment numbers high
The actual unemployment rate would be 7.3%
Barbara, oh ROFL. You gotta be kidding! The actual number is even HIGHER than anyone is quoting. How many gave up looking for work and retired with much less?? How many underemployed people are there now?? How much has the debt increased??? If Obama wins again, I shudder to think what this country will be like in 2016. He needs to GO! He is the worst president of all, even worse than Carter!
Romney/Ryan 2012!
Really? Then I don't think you know or understand much about the man for which you are intending to vote. As soon at Mitt Romney is in office you will be forgotten and the massive shift of wealth to the ultra rich will begin again.
Wave bye bye to your job. If there is any possible way to outsource it they will do it.
Someone needs to share the figures of how many jobs went to China and India when Bush/Cheney were in office.
@mj
no I doubt it see I understand the rich want to increase their wealth and they do that by expanding their businesses and what happens? they HIRE PEOPLE! to increase production so they can sell more of their product so they can make more money ...... besides I was smart enough to pick a field that is largely reccession proof, the service the company I work for is vital for YOUR food lol think aabout that the next time you eat anything refrigerated! as long as people eat and store food I WILL HAVE A JOB!!!!!!!
Guess the author couldn't bring themselves to be honest and write "lie"
First of all, your report could not be more biased if it tried. Second Romney has actually said he wants to get rid of planned parent hood, which is about a lot more than abortion. They provide breast cancer screenings, and other exams women without insurance can't afford otherwise, and they do it because they are funded by the government.
Second, Cheryl you sound crazy, carrying on about abortions and killing babies especially since its a fetus not a baby.
Third Ryan AND Romeny have said they want to privitize social security and medicare, they don't believe in social programs.
And of course the best part..lets say for the sake of argument they are slanting the facts as all politicians do, at least they are using ACTUAL FACTS, and not outright lying to people unlike the RNC. There were so many lies being thrown around even Fox "News" called them out!!!!
funny lyndsayy on mars a single reproducing cell is life, but not on earth .....isnt that odd? Also dems slanting facts and not lying..........bwahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU FUC*ING KIDDING ME?
Lyndsayy......define the difference between a fetus and a baby.........
Lyndssayy, I don't think Cheryl is the crazy one. Glad your mother considered you to be a baby and not a fetus, I guess you were pretty lucky, huh? I was born 3 months prematurely, so was I a baby or a fetus at 6 months?
Amber - Actually you are one of the lucky ones - your family must have had good insurance
Our infant mortality rate is 37th in the World
Plus - actually times of conception is not always accurate - but I'll give your mom the benefit of the doubt
Barbara you do know that other countries, including many in Europe and Japan, only count live births where an infant breaths at birth, while the US counts an infant exhibiting any signs of life as alive, no matter if the infant is still in utero.
Countries such as France, Czech Rep., Ireland, and the Netherlands do not report live births ofbabies under 500g and or 22 weeks of gestation.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Your beginning statement is actually a paraphrase of something originally written by Karl Marx. Ozero is a big fan of socialism and has been for years. The aim of this administration has been to make as many people dependent on government largess and entitlements. Who do you think will support his run for a second term? Certainly those on welfare (who don't work), illegal immigrants who won't have to provide ID in order to vote, and all the other hind tit parasites that are dragging this country down, both in government and "the real world". Those who have been looking for work for so long that it seems like a career choice sure as hell won't vote for him. He has never held a real job himself and, for the life of me, I cannot understand how he ever got elected the last time. He really had nothing of substance to offer the country. He is a narcissist - he ONLY cares for HIMSELF and not the rest of us. He needs to be sent out into the real world come January 20, 2013. He certainly does not deserve another 4 years to further destroy the US Constitution (which he ignores) and us.
The larger the Government the more job security and benefits for them And by the way the benefits of politicians are not even close to what we have. They are gods. What a profession for people with the mentality of used car salesmen.
If nothing else happens this year. Please please please get rid of Pelosi!!
Any representative who states," We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in" should be ashamed of themselves.
She does not deserve her pay and that is OUR tax dollars. Pelosi you are now fired from your job, NEXT!
If you think the Republicans are rich, check out some of the Democrats. They are not out to help us, just their wallets.
Sure then they can get rid og Bohner right along with her. It's only fair since we're now getting rid of people who are wasting "our tax dollars"
Lynd,
Do you have anything to contribute other than insults?
@lyndsayy
now that one I agree with!
LOL Grasping I see. Pelosi was the speaker of the house and presided over the most productive house ever. Nice try doofus.
Typical Liberal Democrats, lying sacks of chit. What else is new.
hey the republicans lying through their teeth is new....oh wait no it's not.
Go bow down to your impeached keynote speaker, slick willy.
Than watch this and get back with me.
Part I -- http://www.youtube.com/embed/3CmkbShVqNA?feature=player_embedded
Part II -- http://www.youtube.com/embed/gy6odnqyLeU?feature=player_embedded
i don't watch dirty propoganda, thank you. And Clinton was a great president aside from repealing Glass–Steagall Act. And Castro gave the keynote, just saying.
dont forget nafta lyndsayy or lying to a grand jury .....sure he was a grrrrrrreat president lol
Great Presidents don't get impeached. It is a liberal democrat speech Lyndsayy...what? Afraid to watch your own?
Ya know Jon, all of this fixation on Clinton's sex life makes me think you might benefit from of that free government viagra... you know, sour grapes and all...
just sayin...
Where did you read that? On your etch a sketch?
This travesty of impeachment was just the beginning of the looney legacy that has brought us to where we are today--fighting over scraps while the wealthy with the aid of congress, rape the country.
Give it up. Let's focus on what we need collectively not something that happened nearly 20 years ago and wasn't even very relevant then.
How comical the right has become. They display all their outrage for Clinton and his personal indiscretions and demand he be ousted. That didn't work. Then their hero, New Gingrich, who lead the charge to nail Clinton and who was responsible for the loss of control of congress was tossed out on his ass for ethic charges. Fist Speaker of the house in history to be kicked to the curb and thrown out of office. Then they put up Gingrich as a presidential candidate. That didn't work work either. Then they all tout the economy of Clinton thinking it would somehow draw people to Romney. (Yea, that was a brilliant move. LOL) They have Gingrich and his 2nd mistress/3rd wife give a Ken and Barbie speech at their convention. Nope that didn't work either. Clinton gives a speech in favor of re-electing Obama and wa la, here's the same old worn out crowd taking another lap in that same circle. Predictable as you all are, here you are, just as expected, displaying outrage again over Clinton. Never mind the free b/c and viagra, you guys need free skitzophrenic medication. Watching the republicans is like watching someone with their foot nailed to the floor spin in circles. lol
32 comments and not one collapsed? What's wrong with you folks? The site discussing the opening remarks of the DNC looks like a WWI battlefield. Dozens upon dozens of collapsed remarks. Civility? How dare you!
I guess when a reputable source calls it like it sees it, all you here are the crickets. Ignore, deflect, distract the new Democratic platform, until further notice.....................
Anyone believing that the GOP cares about any Social program like medicare is a fool.
The Republicans goal is to rid of every single social safety-net the Democrats have drafted and created.
And they will accomplish this with war spending and Pledges to never raise additional cash nor revenues for the government.
That way they can and will overload the entitlement system to scrutinize it, sabotage it and watch it fail.
It's happening now. Wake up.
If you believe the Democrats you must be from Greece or Haiti and want everything given to you. This president has spent your money my money and our kids money.WAKE Up
Watch this and weep Bo...and than try and explain it
Part I -- http://www.youtube.com/embed/3CmkbShVqNA?feature=player_embedded
Part II -- http://www.youtube.com/embed/gy6odnqyLeU?feature=player_embedded
Name the policies that add up to the $5 TRILLION you CONS accuse him off.
Who's lying now.
Watch the video of a Liberal Democrat Bo. Afraid to?
What's your point JJ?
Here's one for you
Whistle-blowers come in all colors shapes and sizes.
My point is, tell me what she found out about Acorn, with Obama deeply associated and entrenched with them to get elected. That is my point.
Bo, name me ONE social program the Republicans have eliminated! Bet you can't because they haven't done so. Sheepling seem to still be following the lying agenda of the Demoncrats.
On a side note, I love how so many booed and hissed when God was mentioned at the Demoncrats Convention. I hope America was watching because like it or not, many of us still are Christian and are offended when our Lord is mocked!
I don't even know how to address this any longer.
You sir, are a moron and your comment is completely without merit as are you.
What kind of hatchet job is THIS??!? Is the AP forbidden to use Google or is this the 2012 version of the Republican-supporting Washington Bureau of four years ago? A Medicare voucher system requiring increasing co-pays is the end of Medicare for seniors who can't afford it. Four million jobs is four million jobs (or 4.5 or whatever), not just "part of the story". Romney called Obama's Dream Act executive action "unconstitutional"; most commonly intelligent beings can figure out his stance. Romney said in an interview in March to Ann Rubin of KSDK.com ""Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that." Is this the kind of garbage we are going to have to put with for the rest of the campaign from the hacks at Associated Press?
They all lie. So what is the argument about anyway. We all just vote for the lesser of two evils and not one president can be blamed for the any one particular thing. They all have had their hands in the cookie jar and each and every last one of them is responsible for what we are suffering with right now. You can't please all of the people at any given time. So I ask you again what is the argument about?
The democrats only say thinks they think might get them votes, and not what they believe or stand for.Their policies will make the USA look something like Greece or even worse Haiti.Wake up America vote to be true and free America vote Romney&Ryan.
HAHAHAHA, and you REALLY think that the teflon Mormon DOESN'T just say things that will get him votes!! You are very naive if you truly think he doesn't!
I do not judge another person by his Religon.Mr. Romney has a excellent track record.
America will end up like Haiti or Cuba with the way obama is spending money. Won't that be awesome? Look how everything is fair in those countries
lol
Just remember, Dems always blame the reps but the truth is Barry could not get anything passed in the first 24 months of his fake presidency even though BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE were under complete Dem majority!!!!
Now there is an intelligent post............good grief.....
Most factual posts are intelligent. Good point.
Oh he DID get things passed.... the worst being the govt takeover of health care... and growing govt by leaps and bounds... and trillion dollar plus deficits that continue automatically (which is why they won't pass a budget)... but he DIDN'T do anything to help the economy or jobs though... some LASER FOCUS, huh? And of course, all those executive orders that suspend immigration laws, and shut down power plants, the scores of new regulations that squash business creation, and let's not forget running guns to cartels that got Mexican civilians and one border agent murdered... some record for the Blamer-in-Chief...
