Republicans used to believe in donor disclosures in return for unlimited donations; not something I would agree to, but still somewhat reasonable. But when you get unlimited donations, you say to hell with disclosures because now you're running the show. Freedom of speech should not involve money; if so, then America was founded as a dictatorship of the wealthy instead of a democratic republic. I don't care if you think that you are being blacklisted; no one person has the right to control an entire election and manipulate candidates because of their wealth and influence. NO ONE. Hahahaha. Citizens United ended the days of political accountability. Politicians realize that by getting more money, chances are that they will win. Whether that is true or not is debatable, but that is what politicians believe. Now, if a majority of those campaign funds (or even a large minority) comes from wealthy backers, that essentially forces that candidate to support the positions of the 1% lest his opponent gain their support and launch a blitzkrieg of ads against him. And Obama didn't get his money from undisclosed Super Pacs in 2008; and even though he got money from Wall Street, they've turned on him right now (see the GOP Super-Pac fundraising). And finally, Citizens United DID NOT level the playing field between corporations and unions. Unions used to provide strong support in politics years ago; after the decline of labor unions (only 11% of Americans are unionized), their political impact has shrunken. Corporations, on the other hand, have poured billions into lobbying campaigns that are much stronger than those of unions. Now, corporations practically own the campaign funding race, and you know it. Unions are a shell of their former selves; corporations are at their highest level and are still growing. Who do you think is the underdog????

Okay, first of all, I think we all can admit that race still plays a large role in American society. We are not as tolerant as we think we are. And secondly, while I have grown to get tired of the racist-accusing from my side (I see it as partially justified, but nowadays getting a little stale), I have to admit that there is still racism in the GOP. I mean, take the Reagan stance against welfare. Back in the late 1970s and early 80s, African Americans literally swamped the welfare lines (not being offensive) because social and legal restrictions allowed them to take welfare. As that time coincided with the stagflation of the 1970s and the recession in the early 80s, white blue-collar voters became discontent with the results of the civil rights movement, among them many formerly segregationists. Ronald Reagan chose to exploit this frustration by attacking the "welfare queen," which to those segregationists (and many other white Americans) represented the recently-empowered African American community. One can find people and examples to make a movie to push almost anything. Such propaganda films do not really prove anything. But there is no getting away from some of the big numbers and promises.

To help pass the stimulus Obama's administration produced a report that predicted that if the stimulus were passed unemployment would not exceed 8%. The report also provided an estimate as to how unemployment would be without the stimulus. According to the charts in that report actual unemployment has been a little worse than if the stimulus were never passed. The President called the stimulus a spending bill. The idea is that more spending by the federal government adds more cash to the economy. More money increases demand and jobs are created to meet the new demand. More jobs causes more money to flow in the economy that causes demand to further increase. The problem is that with so much of our goods and services coming from other countries the money just leaks out and we are left with the debt. The stimulus may have done good for some but it did not solve the unemployment problem and it did not spark the economy enough to turn it around. The stimulus was a gamble that did not pay off as expected.

Obama gave speeches concerning how bad deficit spending was. As he was campaigning for President he vowed to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. To keep his promise the 2012 federal deficit cannot exceed 229.27 billion dollars and according to the President's own White House, the President's promise id going to miss by almost a trillion dollars. I estimate that this additional trillion dollars that the federal government is having to borrow is going to end up costing the tax payers more than 9 trillion dollars before it is all payed back in 170 years. The President has mentioned paying down the debt but he has never issued a comprehensive plan to do so. The tax payers have a right to know how much all this federal borrowing is going to end up costing them.

Then there are promises like closing GITMO within one year of his becoming President. The President was so adamant that it was going to happen but GITMO is still open. Making promises is easy. Keeping them can be more difficult even if you are the President of the United States of America. The President has a tendency to say things that sound good but turn out to be just bs. He has been learning. President Obama seems to be making far fewer promises than he did four years ago at this time. The poor President is having to deal with reality.

If you look at a world map....these bases just happen to consistently be near large natural resources whether water, mineral or oil.

Sometimes when I hear the FOX illiterate viewers call the President of the United States a fool, it begs the question, how did the most uneducated viewers in the United States describe George Bush?

When I voted in 2008, I voted for the Alternative not the Almighty. Since then, I realized that it would take the ALMIGHTY to dig us out of this MESS that George Bush left us in.

Now I am faced with a similar dilema. The almighty isn't running. No one man can fix the economy. There is no democratic or republican solution. So what do I do. Which one do I TRUST. Which one is more transparent.

My vote is not for sale. No amount of money can influence it. So, I continue to question myself. Who do I give the benefit of the doubt to? If both men were standing in front of me asking for their trust, which one is more TRUSTWORTHY!!! Which one would stare me in the eye and which one will look away !!!

If you can't see then difference between birthers and people that want to see tax returns of a candidate, like every candidate over has in recent history including Romney's dad who argued we should see more years, because a couple could be a fluke or purposely done for the election, then my friend you have the IQ of an money.

Personally, I wouldn't normally care so much, but he does want to lower the tax rate for his income level, because they are too high for the "job creators". What is to high, shouldn't we see what to high is?

Obama is just one man. There are 435 people in Congress and 100 people in the Senate who are in charge of making our laws and spending our money. Just what have they done for America? If you want hope and change, get new players in Congress and the Senate. If you want hope and change, start at the local level and at the state level. It is leadership in the executive branch which unites those elected officials to make changes and/or pass bills which will greatly influence what needs to be done. He does not show any leadership ability at all. Many Presidents in the past have shown great leadership and things were done...Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George Bush, President Kennedy and so on. It is the leadership...not the makeup of the Senate and the House. obama purposely divided this nation and there have been bills passed in the house for a budget which does not get passed through the democratic strongholld of the democratic party. We have not had a budget for three years. Ask a democratic congressman "why". Don't ask them...this is an election year and no one will speak the truth.
