It was enough of an embarrassment for the GOP that Cantor (whose own staff was involved in the incident) reprimanded them. The problem with the story is that it doesn't indicate the type of "punishment" handed down. I guess it was just a simple "Shame on you! Look at the bad image you created for us!" As others have posted, they were there on a fact finding mission (I wonder what kind of facts they were looking for, related to Congressional activities, other than further financial support of the Israeli lobby) and were there as representatives of the United States.
