In an interview with NBC's Brian Williams, former President Bill Clinton addressed chatter arising from his praise of Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital, and pointed out that the loss of thousands of public jobs could have been avoided had Obama's jobs plan passed.
Former president Bill Clinton roiled the presidential campaign Tuesday with comments in an interview with CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo in which he called for continuing all the current income tax rates into early 2013, as opposed to President Obama who wants income tax rates on higher-income people to go up at the start of 2013. Clinton also said the economy is still in a recession.
It was the second time in a week that Clinton had appeared to go “off message” from the Obama campaign and to put distance between himself and the president. In comments on CNN last week, Clinton defended GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney’s role as head of Bain Capital, praising Romney as a man who “had a sterling business career.”
But Clinton said in another interview Tuesday with NBC's Brian Williams that “I’m trying to help the president win re-election because I think he’s done a better job than most people know. I think the health care bill is a step in the right direction... I think his economic policy is dramatically better than the one articulated by Gov. Romney and his supporters."
Clinton also told Williams that he was "aghast" at the media reaction to his comments about Romney.
But Republicans were quick to seize on the apparent divide between Clinton and Obama, citing Clinton’s comments in his interview with CNBC as evidence that Obama is out of step on the tax question and that even the Democratic Party’s elder statesman thinks the economy is in dismal shape.
Bill Clinton ruffled some feathers at the White House when he defended Mitt Romney's role at the private equity firm Bain Capital. CNBC's Maria Bartiromo asked him about that in an exclusive interview.
“I don't have any problem with extending all of it now, including the current spending level,” Clinton said in his interview with Bartiromo. “They're still pretty low, the government spending levels. But I think they look high because there's a recession. So the taxes look lower than they really would be if we had two and a half, three percent growth. And the spending is higher than it would be if we had two and a half, three percent growth because there are so many people getting food stamps, so many people getting unemployment, so many people are Medicaid.”
Within a few hours of Clinton’s frankly downbeat assessment airing on CNBC, Clinton’s spokesman Matt McKenna felt compelled to issue a statement seeking clarify or perhaps revise the former president’s remarks: “Two questions have been raised regarding President Clinton's interview on CNBC today. First, on extending the Bush tax cuts, as President Clinton has said many times before, he supported extending all of the cuts in 2010 as part of the budget agreement, but does not believe the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans should be extended again. In the interview, he simply said that he doubted that a long-term agreement on spending cuts and revenues would be reached until after the election.”
And McKenna explained further that Clinton’s comments on the economy simply stressed the need "to keep the expansion going."
McKenna said that Clinton had said federal revenues were lower than they would normally be “because there was a recession and we're still living with the aftermath of it” – not that America is now in a recession.
Clinton did say in his comments to Bartiromo that “the real issue is not whether they (the current income tax rates) should be extended for another few months. The real issue is whether the price the Republican House will put on that extension is the permanent extension of the tax cuts, which I think is an error.”
Clinton also said that Obama is correct in not wanting to make any commitments in his negotiating with congressional Republicans on tax policy “that will constrain our ability to have long-term debt reduction plan” because by 2014 or 2017 “when the economy grows,” interest rates will “go through the roof.”
It was noteworthy that Clinton did not seem to foresee the economy growing until 2014 at the earliest.

Clinton is certainly correct about that. There's actually some irony here too in the history of Obama apologists claiming Obama's failures are all Bush's fault. In three years, Dems will be blaming Romney for the high inflation, and Republicans will be blaming Obama. The irony is that in this case it actually will be Obama's fault. The damage was already done with Obama's unfunded trillion-dollar "stimulus" and "Quantitative Easement" (printing money) to cover it. Because of those, inflation became inevitable. You can hold it down in the short term, but it will eventually manifest.
Kannin
There's actually some irony here too in the history of Obama apologists claiming Obama's failures are all Bush's fault.
So is it for Mitt. Not only is it ironic his camp blames his adminstration for his poor jobs creation in MA; it is also typical of Mitt being a copy cat.
Mitt does not have an original thought in his wooden brain.
Former President Clinton's speech today while campaigning with President Obama was awesome.
The budget must be balanced and Clinton was the last to do it, so I'll always listen in case he knows something missed by all others.
Clinton's stump for Barret in Wisconsin was zilcho. Barret got the votes that signed the recall petition and that's about it.
Beverly - with all due respect, please re-read your post and change some pronouns. What you wrote makes no sense at all ...
I know the Media loves to blame Europe for all of our problems, and yes our politicians want to blame each other, but as soon as Europe gets it's act together, we are all going to be in deep do do...our interests rates will go through the roof as soon as another "safe investment" becomes available...
If there was a .000000000000000001% chance that tax increases would not be used to pay for spending increases, I would say raise taxes on every single American and Corporation, and keep them as high as possible, until the debt is paid off...but until Washington proves it can control spending they shouldn't get a dime of new revenue, and if the only way to control spending is to shut of the revenue valve is through more tax cuts, and keeping money off shore...
When neither the right or the left can admit that Clinton has been correct about many issues (past and present), then perhaps he has become the middle (from a political standpoint).
@wize
It's kinda like Homer Simpson's comment to Bart..."It is the worst day of your life...so far..." ...If we had known when Clinton was in office what the future would hold for candidates/presidents...we would have appreciated him a little more than we did at the time...
President Clinton is still brooding underneath about the fact Hillary did not get the Presidential Nomination in 2008---Obama 'aced' her out from being the top runner.
I can imagine how Obama and Clinton do not get along---they both are very diverse people having different approaches to the Economy, and Taxes.
During the Clinton years, the US Economy was booming---
The Presidential Election coming in November will all be about the state of the US Economy and jobs.
Whatever was done in Foreign Affairs will be forgotten at the time of the vote, especially the killing of top Leaders of Al-Qaida.
Most ex-President's from both parties do not get along---that's the way it goes. Differences of approach and opinions..
Clinton and Biden are the gifts that just keeps on giving. You gotta love it. All you left-wing loons just don't know how stupid you sound when you dump on Romney about his job creation record. Mitt took office in 2003 with 6% unemployment. Then left office in 2007 with unemployment at 4.5%. My source? The U. S. Dept. of Labor Stats.
"During the Clinton years, the US economy was booming---" with a Republican majority in Congress.
Believe'nAmerica
Yes, your comment is true, but it was also the time all the Hi-Tech Companies were in high Swing. The Stock Market went crazy in the 90's doing very well. "The Dot.coms" stocks. People were getting mega rich.
Microsoft, Dell, Amazon, Apple (a little later); Yahoo were the main Companies..
And Clinton--unlike the *Great Divider*-- was able to negotiate and work with his Republican congress to get things done. Obama just whines and blames everyone but himself for his abject failure as a president and as a leader.
@Mr.PheaNiques-0000001
We don't need to raise taxes on anyone. We don't even need to cut a single thing. If we FROZE spending at it's current level we'd be out of debt in just 5 YEARS! If we limited the growth of government to 2% we'd be out of debt in just 10! But the politicians won't do it, they expect a certain level of growth. When Obama says he "cut" 2 trillion in spending what he actually means is that they "cut" 2 trillion off the expected growth. Instead of increasing the budget from 4 trillion to 9 trillion over the next 10 years they are only going to increase it to 7 trillion. Only in "politician speak" does a 75% increase equate to a "cut". This is a bipartisan failure but the republicans at least seem to acknowledge the writing on the wall. The Ryan budget "cuts" (again politician speak) 4 trillion over the next 10 years which isn't quite enough to solve our woes and is in reality a 25% increase but the democrats call it "draconian". Give me a break. Who couldn't freeze their budget for just 5 short years if it meant getting out of massive debt? Every single American would tighten their belt, just a little bit, in order to do so but our government and our politicians are incapable (i.e. unwilling) to do so.
@Mr.PheaNiques-0000001
I NEVER thought I would miss Clinton, then came Bush. I NEVER thought I'd miss Bush, then came Obama. This has to be rock bottom. I won't vote for Romney myself but have little doubt he is the lesser of two evils and Clinton proves it. When he's on the stump he's a good soldier doing his duty to his party, but when he's being honest he practically endorses Romney himself.
there is a much bigger problem than our deficit / debt...and it's moment is coming, and when it does any debt we have is going shine like a thousand Sun's...we nolonger win with a balanced budget, we have to be closer to 1/2 trillion in the black each year to pay off our current debt in the next 35 years...and that still doesn't address the problem that "can not be named"...Spending cuts, real spending cuts, really serious spending cuts, don't get us there alone...when Washington (RNC or DNC) gets serious about spending, we will have to address revenue increases and steep ones...we have long passed the ability to deal with America's Economy in half measures
I too, will not / would not vote fore Romney, and again not because he isn't the lesser of 2 evils...but because he is only a rubber stamp for the RNC version of Bigger, more Powerful, more Intrusive Federal Government...America needs a change of direction, not just another "shimmy" to the left or right...It is "U-turn" or "Bust"
Maybe, we should ditch the ban on Human Cloning, and dig up George, Abraham, Ike, and Jefferson...
All of which would be banned from the republican field.
Deficits don't matter. We never paid WWII off.
Presidents don't matter. A head on top of a pimple.
The owners of this country want you to believe they all matter. But, what matters?
Money.
There is nothing money won't buy. Walker bought a 50 million dollar re-election. Health insurance and big pharma swayed public opinion from 70% for reform to 70% opposing it.
When you have more money than you have products to spend it on, what else do you do with the money? You change the world to your liking.
The presidency and Congress are toys to manipulate, play 'what if's, a puppet for amusement.
You can imagine two gazillionaires are making bets with each other on what they can make people believe.
We are a nation of pawns with queens dominating the board.
Backcountry164,
How on earth did you figure that? Let's say you keep spending at the current levels ($3.655 trillion) with revenues as projected:
2012 projected revenue: $2.555 trillion - outlay: $3.655 trillion = $1.1 trillion deficit
2013 projected revenue: $3.090 trillion - outlay: $3.729 trillion = $639 billion deficit
2014 projected revenue: $3.442 trillion - outlay: $3.729 trillion = $287 billion deficit
2015 projected revenue: $3.651 trillion - outlay: $3.729 trillion = $78 billion deficit
2016 projected revenue: $3.832 trillion - outlay: $3.729 trillion = $103 billion surplus
So over 5 years in total, keeping spending levels the same it will add $2.703 trillion to debt.
As things stand now with moderate increases it will add $3.543 trillion to debt. There is no way to pay of the existing $15.673 trillion of debt in 5 years. (Or you'd have to more than double existing taxes and keep spending constant.)
The only way to pay this off is to actually inflate our way out of it. It provides an indirect way to tax the rich without having to answer to the Republic overlord (Grover Norquist).
So...listen to Clinton because he was the last President to balance the budget?? Clinton ignored over 12 separate attacks on this country costing the lives of many Americans so he wouldnt have to spend any money. Also, 3 months after being elected he raised federal taxes 90%...the largest tax increase in history. Those of you who dislike Romney...I say this....give him a chance. We gave Obama a chance and he has ruined our economy, jobless rate, health care, no balanced budget in over 3 years, and nothing but hype and blame during his administration. Then, if Romney doesnt do any better, throw him out and try something else. Just don't reelext Obama...he does not deserve another term....and everyone knows it.
You can not inflate your way out of debt, when you are borrowing the money to inflate with...especially when you factor in the 700 billion dollars the US is losing every year in trade deficits...
and even if we print 16 Trillion new dollars tommorow, you still have to deal with the fall out, next years budget would need to be 10 Trillion just to provide what we provide today...yuukkk...there is only one way to solve it long term...that is to allow the Economy to do what it is trying to do, exactly what we are spending trillions per year trying to prevent
It will/would take a politician(s)/political party(s) with the integrity, and balls, to admit that they have been running a "Pyramid Scheme" on America for the last 40ish years, and it is going to collapse, regardless of how much money we borrow or print...we can only try to guide the "crash", it will be a terrible Decade or So, but it is nolonger a choice, and postponing it another day will make it exponentially worse
@Borlock Guy
Well when insomnia keeps you up until 3 in the morning you can figure all sorts of things, lol. My brain was saying deficit but my fingers were typing debt. Hell, most people don't even know the difference. Thanks for the catch, wish I could go back and edit my blunder. Oh well, C'est la vie.
@meatgrinda:
I am way over to the right wind and I do not will never ever support Mitt; I have enough and knows better on my own account and experiences from my current job status to vote for an extention of Nobama !
The media and the bleeding heart libs and the less intelligent wants to fade out Dr. Paul; if he is in the ballot he will have my vote; if Mitt campaign expect us Paul supporter to unite to help him be our next failure they are way out there for the long ride as if that is the case we will swallow more Nobama times and who knows what else!
At the end of the day both political partys are getting the best of America for their own agendas; that is why we need Dr. Paul, that is why nobody talks about him and everywhere they try to fade him off the picture.
Lies can run for a whole year; the truth will always reach it and will prevail in just a second.
With the choices we have in November, the best thing we can do for America is vote for a Third Party, and though it might not be enough to elect that person...(I'm hoping for a Paul/Rice ticket)...maybe it will be enough to show those voters who still believe the 2-party propaganda that it is "us or them or a wasted vote"...that there is a real choice in 2016
Marchant and believe in America - Let's not forget that the driving force behind the tech boom was the capital created by the tax reform act of 1986
@Mr.Phea
I was starting to think i am alone or maybe insane for talking about Paul in here; nobody seems to "want to" notice him; good job on the media; proof we live in a country that has a long way to go in education and polotics
@Rock
There is an old saying..."You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people, all of the time" but I don't think the guy who said that understood that "if you have enough people fooling some of the people all of the time, you can fool almost everybody all of the time"
Until this I thought the Media was left and/or right, now I know it is DNC and RNC...the coverage of Paul proved that...Even, FOX bashed the Conservative alternatives to Romney, often harder than the DNC Media
@Mr.Phea
Amen !!
As he has a right to do. I watched the media elect Barack Obama on nothing but smoke and mirrors. Hilary Clinton would have united the parties and the country.
Big Business could not have that because it would put the focus on what they were doing instead of an imaginary battle playing out in the middle class over the color of a man's skin. So they put a man in place who albeit is not a bad president but because the country is not truly ready for an African American president, fractured the country even more. As if Bush wasn't divisive enough.
The machines of public opinion have this sown up. We will never have a legitimate election again in the United States. The cards are in the hands of an ultra rich select few who understand how to take a trivial issue and build it to a mountain to deflect focus on their nefarious deeds.
Just look at the religious people who come here to trumpet that the liberals hate them and are out to get them. What an absurd notion. The point of being liberal is live and let live. Any yet, contrary to all evidence they've been convinced by the ultra wealthy money machine it is so.
We are indeed doomed in the United States. We are fighting over scraps while Rome burns
Clinton said he would not raise taxes on the middle class. What was one of the first things he did when elected? Raised taxes on the middle class.
But now that it's his filthy rich scum bags turn to be taxed, he's opposed to it. LOL! Does the guy even own a mirror?
until Barry beat the tar out of him and makes him flip flop on his own ideas. Why cant anyone speak the TRUTH????
You're confusing "liberal" with "libertarian". Both the Left and Right do everything they can to control our lives. The Right tries to tell us how to live. The Left tries to tell us how to think. Both are equally damaging to our liberty.
@Patrick
You have obviously forgotten our nations founding motto..."Give me Liberal, or Give me death"...or was it "Give me Liberty, or make sure no one has any either"....see now you got me confused
@Mr.PheaNiques-0000001
I'm not far enough into my first cup of coffee for the day to tell if that's supposed to be a dig or not, but it's still funny.
Edit: Ok, I get it now. We seem to agree on this.
I was going for funny, and a disguised pat on the back....
That's the difference between Clinton and Obama . . . Clinton knew how to compromise to pass legislation for the good of the country, Obama is the Great Divider.
As Lori and "Believe in America" point out, Clinton balanced the budget and made a large number of accomplishments with a Republican congress.
Obama would never do this, instead his Community Organizer instincts move him to try to Incite the Country to a greater Divide.
I voted for Bill Clinton but admit that after 8yrs I was tired of the Clinton's reign. Now, with Obama, I wish that we had tried Hillary instead. She is Smart and would never resort to dividing the country in order to follow the orders of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
While Clinton was "screwing around" in the White House American lives were lost. While in Arkansas, he and Hillary had some questionable land deals that made them millions. He had bin Laden his sights and let him live to kill over 3000 U.S. citizens in New York. Bill is still pissed because Hillary did not get the nomination and I believe if O'Bama continues to screw things up, Hillary could get the next Democratic nomination. She may still get the nomination for Vice-President because the White House Village Idiot Biden is a liability. But we have to look at the positives - with friends like Bill Clinton, O'Bama is sunk because Clinton has too much baggage.
Backcountry said:
You recognize Romney is "the lesser of 2 evils," yet you would not vote for him?!? Do you want to waste your vote, or are you convinced it is ok to use your vote to help American go down the tubes? Frankly, all of the recent Presidential elections boiled down to "voting for the lesser of 2 evils." Unfortunately, in the last election, the "greater of 2 evils" was elected, and we've paid dearly for it. For me, we can not start too soon to correcting the damage done. What about you?
As for the article, I think Clinton knows exactly what he is doing, unfortunately, it is not in Obama's best interest.
I see no issue with allowing ALL of the Bush tax cuts expire, because I believe that a pissed off citizen is a good citizen when it comes to demanding our elected "representatives" quit f**king around and get serious about their deficit spending addiction and starting to pay down the INSANE equal to our annual GDP U.S. National Debt !!
I love the US vs. THEM or Dems vs. Repubs arguments. When will you zombified people wake up to the real truth going on? We are being manipulated, google "Presidential Bloodlines". Would it shock you too know that 33 of our Presidents are blood related? We are being manipulated by the ruling elite, and you eat it up like a kid with candy.

Wake up and make some real changes or we are all doomed to become slaves again.
trust2112 . . are you saying that Obama and Clinton are really cousins? . . or maybe it doesn't matter whether Obama was born in the U.S.??
odumo only wants More American Taxpayers money...so he can Spend More...
But Surprise....!!!
His tax Spending Days are coming to an END..Real SOON...!
Romney 2012...!
Clinton proves some Democrats actually get it, too bad Obama and his supporters are not among them. Obama simply does not have a clue what he is doing or what he should be doing. Obama outsourced his presidency to Reid and Pelosi so he could enjoy the lifestyle, and we wonder why nothing has worked. Obama is an unqualified president who surrounded himself with an unqualified administration, and the country will pay a heavy price. If Obama had a record to run on he would. Yes we can has been replaced by why we couldn't, and the blame and parade of excuses is no longer drawing a crowd.
Obozo makes Jimmy Carter look a great President.
I didn't care much for Bill Clinton. I thought he dropped the ball on certain issues, (attack on the USS Cole #1) but I agree with him on this article. We are STILL in a recession. Washington has tried to convince us that over 8percent unemployment, increase Foodstamps, welfare, foreclosures is simply a figment of our imaginations. That the economy is coming back around.
Yeah right. If you believe that one, I'll explain to you about FREE Health care.
In November no one in America is going to care about who ended the war in Iraq (Bush), or who killed Osama bin Laden. What Americans will care about are jobs and the economy, health care and the Illegal situation.
Clinton has been in the truth in his recent comments, even when the Democrats want to banging by not agree with Obama, Clinton is right when he says the experience of Romney as Governador and businessman gives enough experience to be remarkable president. Obama is wrong on its economic policy due to its extreme ideology, is delaying the recovery of our economy
The Clinton's and the Obama's share many of the same values, lie cheat and steal. Neither of them had a pot to piss in but look at them now. All gains at our expense.
I think you're correct, and I've been saying this to my friends for a couple years now. I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an 80's style recession - which was much worse than the "great recession" for the poor and middle class. It had double digit unemployment, high inflation, and double digit interest rates. Think mortgage payments are bad now, wait until the interest rate is 12%...we'll see another housing price crash if that happens.
Politicians are the only people on earth that create a problem(s) and then campaign against it.
I think it is great that all posters on here are talking issues instead of bashing the "other side". Maybe some are waking up to the fact that unless we start FACING the issues, the leader (Dem/Repub) can just offtrack the real issues and DO NOTHING for the betterment (word?) of this great country.
At some point it will be a revolt, sorry to say, however until we do revolt it will be the same song and dance and the people are the ones losing!
Again the right are taking what Clinton is saying. You can take one snippet, if you remember Clinton also stated that Romney is not good for our country because he wants to double down on tax cuts for the wealthy who got us into this mess and that the Repubs have in every instance block every bill that would put Americans back to work. Tax cuts for the job creators didn't work under Bush so why would they all of a sudden work for Romney. BTW, I hope Americans realize that what happened in Wisconsin is more evidence that our democracy can be bought and everyone knows that the majority of Wisconsin have now sold their state to big money so they had better be prepared for working class Wisconsins to pay for Walkers tax cuts for his contributors. It's a sad day for democracy, we have seen Arab countries buy the elections and now we are doing the same thing. America is no example for democracy. America, welcome to the 3rd world.
Let us not forget that united we stand and divided we fall. Division helps the politicians which is why Obama has spent the past 3.5 years trying to divide the nation with class warfare, a conjured war on women, race, college students, and the list goes on. This nation couldn't get much more divided then it is today, and people thought they were electing a leader. Instead of united we stand, Obama espouses divide and conquer. The politicians in Washington are there for themselves, their friends, and for everyone else, they simply talk a good game.
Just becuse you Repubs say something doesn't mean it's true. In fact it's usually not true. Obama has bent over backward to be fair, it was the Repubs that tried to divide us. And they will do anything to win, even trying to throw our country off the edge financially to stop Obama from achieving anything. A conjured War on Women? Rick, I'm 64, and until this year nobody has ever suggested shoving something up my vagina, and it wasn't the Dems. And it was the Repubs that want to take away money from college students, who don't like a black president (they're the racists), and who want to give a helping hand to the rich. Every single thing you said was done by the Repubs, not the Dems. And everybody knows it. How can you guys so boldy lie and think people will believe you?
And when the interest rates go through the roof, everyone who's retired will sceam with glee, because all through the Bush years we got nothing on our savings (he needed the money for wars, ya know)...........now we'll finally get some money for being frugal all our lives.
Funny how our forefathers left Europe and built a great country but somehow the Obama loving media finds it is Europe's mess that causes our problems.
As to Clinton. When he was President I called him Slick Willy and thought he was the President I had disliked most in my lifetime. Who knew it would turn out that he knows how to tell the truth and is so much smarter than our current Whitehouse occupant. We all kid about what is is but his record for telling the truth and not making false promises to everyone everyday is so much better than Obama's we have to give him at least a tip of the hat.
Rick-3416939
Obama has spent the last 3.5 years promoting a race war and his Socialist Agenda. The divisions are real because for the first time the long planned Socialist, Marxist Agenda is out in the open and those true to the American ideals of individual freedom and responsibility have seen it ugly head. I am afraid there won't be any coming together of these two groups. It is up to us to take back our country and return it to its Constitutional and Christian foundations. Those who have profited will not go gently into the night. A sad but true fact and we have to realize that and be ready to handle whatever comes on our way back to our original freedoms and values.
SoSickof theGop
Sorry but we all know now that Obama has done some bending over but it was the bending over of the American people and thier values.
We were literally a few votes in the senate, from rounding a corner and losing any "hope of chang"ing our destiny...and I think there will be enough "awake" voters, to put the House and Senate back in the hands of Representatives who will honor that responsibility...and make the next occupant of 1600 irrelevant
Patrick Hanna #1.31 - I agree, I lean to the left because the facists can enforce how I live but I can always think whatever I choose.
When a multi-billionaire like RoMONEY pays only 15% in taxes out of all the moolah he earns and someone earning less than $50,000 a year is paying 28%, figure out who really is making it easy for El Mittso to avoid paying his full and fair share. Sorry, but these loonies are smart enough to earn billions but not smart enough to figure out higher salaries according to US tax laws mean higher, not lower taxes. When you cut taxes on the highest incomes, you cut the revenue coming in to the Fed to pay your bills.
No CEO in the US deserves to earn $12 billion a year. How many $40K jobs could half of that save? Face facts. The Corporate Welfare state and 1% know they are bilking the rest of the country every time they get another tax break, cut, loophole or exemption. They know the rest of the country has to make up for that loss of taxes. They'll BS you till the long horns come home but the reality is that without a fair taxation on the highest incomes, the Middle Class and working poor are helping Mitt and his Rich Bois stall for time on hiring and creating jobs. Stalling equals huge profits. Don't believe it? Check out the increase in profits of US corporations since 2009 and then check out the joblessness. Anyone who believes that's not related needs a course in math.
Where do I sign the petition to have President Obama's election recalled ??? Perhaps we could boot him out and slip ol' Bubba right back into the job. This conservative-libertarian could easily live with that swap !
The damage is done and Bush is not as guilty as the Dems make him look they were running the show Obama will bring us to our knees, Romney is out of touch. and the media is manipulating the elections, its a doomed NWO that is in the worlds ruling class agenda not American interest, We the People have lost. unless you vote for the other guy and I doubt he (Ron Paul) will win, in a second term when Mr O can be "more flexible" you will see what I mean, so get the pink shirts out, get your pointing finger in shape , learn to swim in a thick brownish substance wader's won't do you any good, the only one we have to blame is ourselves. its true as divided as we are there is no hope! it wont matter which one of the two you vote for the puppet master will still be the one pulling the strings, both of the parties have failed us, if Mr O wins you can bet on the country being run by executive power and the constitution will be set aside, if Romney wins it will be more of the same, the two party system will not allow a good independent to run and win because that would interfere with their corrupt idealism. New world order 90% of us have to be brought down to the level of sheep. we cast aside the people that can make a difference we cast aside Ross Peroe in 92 now we cast aside Ron Paul in 2012 and vote for the same garbage that brings us down and its all over party affiliation. and because you vote you think you have the right to complain and the responsibility to find excuses for the person you put in office to make these mistakes.
Now people are giving Clinton some actually deserved props. Too bad the party wan't smart enough to see this a few years ago. Bill clinton spent 8 years in the White House with Hillary right next to him. (She is more experienced than Obama just by that fact alone.) HIllarys' credentials are far better than Obamas. Hope the party get's some commmon sense for 2016. Too bad it couldn't be Hillary as President and Bill as the first man in the white house. I know he can't run for president again but too bad he couldn't be on the ticket with Hillary as VP.
Tony...conservative and libertarian? You mean as in Libertarian movement funded by Birchers and Rand ideology? Or, more currently Libertarians funded by Charles and David Koch? The day men in this country learn to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, the shock would go viral.

And Clinton--unlike the *Great Divider*-- was able to negotiate and work with his Republican congress to get things done
........Ever hear "It takes two to tango"? Clinton had a Congress which contained a good many moderate and pragmatic GOP members who were willing to work with him. Likewise, Reagan also had DEMs in Congress who were willing to compromise. Unfortunately, the GOPers of those days are long gone (remember Senator Lugar?), and have been replaced by the new, improved GOP/TPers, who unlike their predecessors, are not concerned about what is better for the majority of Americans (can you say "Middle Class"?), but rather are behold'n to their new masters, wealthy power brokers like the Koch's and Grover Norquist. Today's GOP/TP showed their true colors when they stated their primary goal was to make Obama a one term president right after he took office. Whether deliberate or not, everything the GOP/TP has done, or not done, since then can be viewed in the context of that incredibly foolish statement. I used to vote GOP in most cases (Reagan twice, George H. W. Bush, Dole, and G. W. Bush, but only the first time), but they have lost me. I don't like a lot of things in the DEM agenda (e.g., the DREAM Act), but today's GOP/TP just downright scares me (attacks on SS, Medicare and other programs aimed at helping the Middle Class in their senior years, while touting that they will lower the top tax rate for the wealthy from 35% to 25% and still eliminate the deficit, yeah, right).
A lot of Democrats are off message with the Obama campaign spin.
Or maybe said better - Obama has lost connection with many in his own party...
He certainly can't seem to work with them in Washington either.
Ol' Bubba knows what he is talking about. I consider myself a conservative on most issues, but I voted for Clinton because I think he was and is a brilliant guy. Our economy boomed under him, and yes it was a Republican congress, but Clinton knew when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em when dealing with them. That is the mark of a leader willing to work with the other party.
His knowledge and insight into most relevant issues will come out when he speaks in the coming months, because this is one guy who won't be played for a fool by either side.
Get real...Uh...I think you need to rethink that post of yours. Take a good long look at how many moderate Republicans have left the party thanks to your Tea Party Twerps with their bullying. Charles and David Koch are behind the Tea Party. These are 2 billionaires who believe money buys everything their hearts desire. I boycott anything to do with Koch Industries. I refuse to pander to 2 men who are power freaks and tyants. Long after they are dead and gone, their money will remain behind to do its dirty work. That's the Koch legacy. Much like the legacy of many control freaks.
willowbrook
This attitude is the reason we're stuck with a choice between two evils. If more people "wasted" their vote those votes wouldn't be wasted, they'd give us a third option.
it is the heart of 2Party propaganda, you waste your vote if you don't vote for one of us...of course the third party is never born, and the DNC/RNC grows their power, reach, control
If you don't like the choice for president, then vote for a candidate you do like...and through the rest of your ballot, make the winner irrelevant...by selecting Representatives and Senators that will represent you, not the Party
"What a mess".
ex Pres. Bill Clinton dearly loved by most people, even the Republicans. He was the Great Communicator, like Reagan. He listened to his fellow citizens, adapting to their problems. What a loss Hillary was not voted in as President. I, too am sure she could have made the Hope and Change. Solid in her beliefs.
In 2007, under the Bush Admin., the country was in a huge mess.
Uninformed voters wanted Hope and Change"---This is not the kind of Hope and Change expected. Just promises and abstract ideas. Nothing has been accomplished.
This coming 2012 Presidential Campaign vote with your HEAD and not your heart. See, your Vote does matter!
You fukkers are funny, Now you agree with Clinton huh. Your irrational hatred for the president is going to make his win in Nov so sweet.
robiscoole:
You sound threatened by who might win the 2012 Election.
Everyone has the right to Freedom of Speech--we don't have to follow your path.
In retrospect, Bill Clinton was a superior Politician, Communicator, a GREAT President who knew how to do his job. He was and is truly beloved by most people.
The Sex Scandal is now considered minut, compared to the way this Country is headed in the wrong direction. The Polls say that 78 per cent of the people cannot be wrong re: this assessment.
Take the Sunglasses off.
Did you even say anything that matters? Your post is extremely irrelevant to me because you drew conclusions with nothing to support them. Freedom of Speech? Threatened? I will have a job no matter who the President is. I am just old enough to remeber all of the pathetic rhetoric that was cast at Clinton also.
PS. nice French name, socialist. See I can cast irrelevant rhetoric also.
ewent...
Sorry I was not more clear for you...I mean "conservative" as in 'stop taking and wasting my money' and "libertarian" as in 'leave me the hell alone.
My local, state, and federal levels of government take about 40% of my income and act like I should be thanking them for the myriad ways they waste it. And of course, whatever they do take is never enough.
Secondly, the federal government can stop trying to legislate morality and sticking their nose into everything anybody may possibly do. For every new idea or quest they tie onto eventually gets brought back to the above sentence...more money.
And sorry to disappoint you, but I wouldn't recognize a Koch brother if they knocked on my front door. Just because you and your brethren have tried to make the Kochs the would-be focus of every American doesn't make it so.
And a big high five to Scott Walker...the first guy I've seen with the guts to point a finger at government unions and tell them that we are not getting our money's worth and that's it's time for their outlandish pension and benefit system to take a hit.
robis...
Sorry...but the current President of the United States could not carry Bubba's jockstrap as a "president" or as a "politician".
backcountry - I'm sure there are a fair number of us, including myself, who would like a third option. Unfortunately, between now and November, this is not going to happen. Therefore, we are back to the lesser of 2 evils. So it comes down to voting for 4 more years of the same, or voting for something else. Me, I'd rather take my chances on Romney than vote for 4 more years of Obama. They say "ask yourself, Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" I have to say no, and I'm not really up for 4 more years of the struggle I've just been through. Things do not have to be the way they are now. Obama has been consistently asking for more of the same, repeating failed ideas during his campaign. This in no way shows me he will do a better job in the next 4 years.
(Romney was not my choice among the Republican pool because I don't consider him conservative enough to really get the hard choices made to bring the country back around. But even his ideas are better than what we have now.)
Per the linked article, the average tax rate for someone making less than $50,000 is less than 5%. So, Romney's effective tax rate is 300% higher...

Glad you were not too old enough to remember the Clinton Presidency. That discredits your remarks.
Read some History Books, or do research on President Clinton---he becoming more and more important in the Line of a President's Legacy.
French?---good one; you put a smile on my face.! If that is what you assume to be correct, then believe it.. Try again. Now you are old enough to discern what Heritage or Country people are coming from. Good try.
My posts are full of context--re: this subject.
Ron...
Pretty funny that with all the anger and accusations over how many tens of millions of dollars Mitt Romney has paid in taxes...or hasn't paid in taxes...that there is no information anywhere that he hasn't paid every single cent that he owed.
I guess when someone has been extremely successful in life, no matter how much is paid is never enough for the whiners our government has developed.
Marchant
Glad you were not too old enough to remember the Clinton Presidency. That discredits your remarks. What?
If you are going to comment at least cut and paste so you dont fuc it up. I said "I am just old enough to remeber all of the pathetic rhetoric that was cast at Clinton also."
I do remember the repubs were as phathetic then as they are now.
I enjoyed the Temper Tantrums of Chris Matthews, the envoys of Mother Jones, Salon and the Reverend Sharpton about the former President Clinton.
Well, politics is politics and the former President Clinton embraced the former President Bush.
Well, did anybody expect anything else????? He is a Democrat and an idiot which he has proven over and over.
Case closed.
@tony-268769 I think I love you, man. I wish more people were as reasonable as you, especially on threads like this.
Pretty sure this is my favorite quote of the week:
Look people, we face major headwinds in the future. The economy is slowing down, Europe's a mess, and China is lagging a bit. Not to mention our debt is piling high. I know many of you are against spending any more money to stimulate the economy, but that is our only way of getting out of the recession. Not tax cuts, not deregulation, but spending, preferably on infrastructure. We have two paths set before us; one based on economic fairness, a strong middle class, and a recovering job market, and another based on premature austerity, a shrinking middle class, and wealth being concentrated in the hands of a few. And with interest rates at record lows, we can borrow cheaply now to jump-start the economy. Here is my plan to boost economic growth and job creation:
I. Reduce the debt by $14.4 trillion over 10 years.
I am not joking. Check (http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=vie…
II. Economic Recovery Package.
Total cost=$2.256 trillion over 12 years.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
If politicians really want to jump start the economy, then bail out the middle class in this country.
It seems ridiculous with all the unemployed Americans available that many businesses are bringing in people from out of the country to fill those positions. If industry is truly lacking in being able to find qualified workers then set up training to qualify those that are capable of handling the task. When I was younger there were trade schools that worked with industry to train people for a profession. This was a win-win scenario.
Raising the minimum wage to a livable level would also give a huge boost to the economy because people could afford to buy more products to stimulate growth throughout the system. I know some fat cats will complain that paying people more will mean less for them, well tighten your belt some and stop living so high on the hog. With only the few having great wealth it causes financial instability throughout the system.
Giving further huge tax breaks to the wealthy isn't going to solve anything as the there are no financial incentives to reinvest that money back into the system to create jobs with.

Beverly - with all due respect, please re-read your post and change some pronouns. What you wrote makes no sense at all ...
Oh yea, is that right? Do you understand this verbage?
Stuff it!!!
Surely, you understand the syntax of what I just said; right?
@Beverly in Chicago
Yes Bev, we understand. Any time you hear something you don't like you try to get that person to STFU. So much easier to deal with reality when you don't have to hear or acknowledge it.
"To anger a conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth." - Theodore Roosevelt
Beverly,
GROW UP!
Beverly for President lmfao!!!
Hey Beaver
I would vote for Bill over your Obummer any day of the week. He was a good guy even tho he could, keep his pants zipped up, but that doesn't have anything to do with running this country, reaching across party lines and acomplishing the task at hand, something Clinton did for 8 years and something Obummer has failed to do in 3 1/2. So if you will and Obummer too, from your words, STFU
BTY: I'm Republican but usually vote for the best person. Both parties suck these days, and I didn't vote for your snake oil salesman. You could tell he was a phoney miles away
everely in Chicago...with an unemployment rate of 4.7% why does the government need to create more jobs...you logic points to one side of the equation...in order to have a full picture you need to look at both sides. You should probably stop preaching only half truths...as my grandmother use to say, a half truth is a full lie.
I can see why Republicans like Bill. He's Republican lite.
Backcountry, to anger a Republican, use facts and logic... to anger a Democrat, use propaganda from Fox to try to make your point.
STFU twit, your mouth overloads your mockingbird ass daily, get a life, you sure as @!$%# don't have one.
Bev pull it together we need to keep Slic Willie on the campaign trail fighting for Bammy. That is going to take cigars and dippers. Can you take one for the team Bev ; )
Oh grow up!!!
Both parties are are bought by the mega rich!! Both parties are a farce! Look at what the RNP is doing to the people who are voting for Ron Paul!!! Betcha did not see this in your paper or the nightly news? Ron Paul is getting lots of votes and could win the nomination if the media would just report on him more. Want proof here read it your self.... And look what they did when the RNP did not win...Politics in this country is a joke!! mic.com/articles/9163/ron-paul-delegates-arrested-as-they-win-a-majority-at-louisiana-gop-convention
Beverly in Chicago, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor.
Yepper, Mr. Clinton is at it AGAIN.
Time for Mr. Obama to kick Mr. Clinton OFF the ObamaWagon (just like he did Oprah) and NOT consider Mrs. Clinton as his running mate, which will probably be announced at the DNC convention anyway (timing.....LOL).
Wow, the surrogates are turning quickly. Add that to Walker's cruising through the "frivolous" Wisconsin recall election costing the Union Workers MILLIONS of their union dues/fees which resulted in Mr. Obama being in deep trouble for re-election. Wait a minute....Mr. Obama said "I deserve to be re-elected."
And for ONCE....BEV....I totally agree with your comment.
I listened to the whole speech...yeah he nailed it on teabaggers, birthers, and the obstruction put in place by repubs to block growth. Was a real good speech.
Romney did for Bain and himself what he was supposed to do. Get all the money he could and not care how he got it. Crashing the lives of everyone in his way was good for Bain, BUT...do you want this man for your president who wants to do what repubs just did to the nation starting another depression with same policies?....He said in effect NO!
How stupid can you guys be? It's soooo obvious! Bill WANTS Barry to lose, so Hillary can run against Mitt in 2016. Bill wants to go back for more intern action. And the plot will thicken believe me. It's like a never ending movie. Stay tuned everyone.
@meat
"Bill WANTS Barry to lose, so Hillary can run against Mitt in 2016"
Hmmm..... I must be missing something. Exactly what is stopping Hillary from running in 2016 either way?
@starsailing
LOL! Romney did at Bain what Obama did for GM. How many people lost their jobs when the gov took over GM and closed down a shtload of dealerships? I guess you only think that's a bad thing when republicans do it. Odd since Clinton himself doesn't agree with you even as you get up off your knees after praising him.
"I don't think that we ought to get into the position where we say 'This is bad work. This is good work,'" Bill Clinton on Bain Capitol
@howard:
nothing is stopping her from running in 2016 Herself being a proven radical way more dangerous than Nobama will stop her from ever reaching the nice house and its comodities.
She can run all she wants, at the end she will trip and fall just like all always-my- way-radicals !!
truth will set you free...and will make you angry..for sure!!
We want rid of rumors of the White House telling the terrorists about Drone attacks aimed at ending the terrorist wars and projected attacks on America. We want rid of a President who is possibly not even a citizen of this United States...though the fix could have been in long before we ever heard of him. We want rid of a President whose primary goal is to find ways to funnel more taxpayer dollars into Dem/iib coffers, rather than finding ways to create jobs. We want a President who does not have a shade of suspicion about him. We want a President who appears to like America and our system of government and our system of economics. We want a President who doesn't make back door deals and consider that anyone who has managed to buy a home rich, so he wants to take whatever we've managed to save through higher taxes. We want a President who will help us not to have to be dependent on government when we retire, and will not attack our plans for retirement. Medicare and Medicaid were supported by the American people for those who couldn't afford healthcare. Those who simply don't want to pay for it, are not our responsibility. We don't want a President whose dislikes include Israel, a long time allie of America, and we want not to have to wonder if our own President is a part of what attacked America on 9/11. We want to know that our President is not a congenial thug who is surrounded by thugs who wants to take our weapons from us, but makes deals with Mexican cartels to supply them with guns at our borders into Texas. We want a President and a Congress who will seek to cut expenses before creating more and taxing taxpayers with carrying the burden of what always seems to end back in Democrat coffers. We want a President who will take a tough stand on UNIONS...everyone has a right to work and shouldn't have to pay unions to get that job.
We want a President who understands that if unions demand more and more money from businesses, it will result in less and less jobs. There simply isn't enough money for business to keep up with the demands of unions, but the democrat/liberals support them because the union coffers flow into the Dem/lib coffers. We want medical...but we want the right to choose where we will obtain that medical. We want a President who understands that government has its limits, and it doesn't get to decide who lives and who dies. We want a President who doesn't' want to take over electricity, water, air, and anything else that affects taxpayers, merely to have power over each and every taxpayer. We want a President who doesn't punish those who disagree with him by starting rumors about them or by having an audit done on their taxes.
We want decent, honest men in our government and as our President and Vice President. We don't want a Vice President who is a clown and appears to not know what to say to the American people to help them not to be afraid of their own President.
Thus far, Mister Romney appears to be an honest businessman who might just be able to get our fiscal house in order. President Obama has failed miserably and even his own Party is getting very afraid of him and his secret goals. They all lead to having power over all of us. The do not lead to jobs, and they do not lead to equality. He supports "marriage" between gays as a way to becoming equal with married people. Most of us see marriage as between one man and one woman. That doesn't mean that we think gays ought to be disenfranchised. We need to take a real look at the benefits of the Federal system that makes gays think they are being denied. Marriage is not a union between two men or two women. Call it something else, and i think we all agree, they ought to have the same benefits, if they honestly have a monogamous relationship. We all saw the movie about two men claiming to be married, just for the benefits. Single men and women pay more in taxes. They don't have as many responsibilities. it's been that way for as long as most of us can remember. But of course, this generation doesn't want to do anything that has always been.
Dem/libs are well known for seeking out the weaknesses in our society and exploiting them. We want less exploitation and a whole lot more loyalty to America and its citizens. So far, we the people aren't seeing a whole lot of that from our present White House.
AGREED!!!!!!!!!!! Clinton is a decoy and traitor to Democrats. He is supporting Romney indirectly whom incidentally spent more than half his political life on the other side of the fence, both are double dipping, Clinton wants back in Washington and will play into each Obama and Romney. He is a two timer, cheated his wife, lied to the country. He also is a TRAITOR. Be rid of him liberals and Democrats, he knows that he lies to you and gets paid to do so. Take for instance his financial advice, this is the exact same now impeached President that signed and altered anti-trust laws with Republicans turning the FINANCIAL industry into a monopoly with "Glass Steagall"-in 1999, and look now, those laws were made after the first Great Depression to prevent a second and less than ten years since 1999 the entire country fricking collapsed. Be rid of him, he also uses homosexuals and went on television speaking on how states should decide gay marriages, when he signed the Defense Of Marriage Act making illegal for gays to marry. DNC is in a state that just ruined gay marriages.
Your right. He never got over Obama winning the nomination. Neither have Hilary's supporters. They acted like the presidency was an entitlement.
Mass Graves..........and yeah, your party caused a lot of those. All of the real problems our country now has, and you focus on gays? Typical Repug. Can you not stay out of other peoples bedrooms? All you people talk about is gays and not using condoms and calling young women prostitutes...........you keep your thing in your bedroom, and I'll keep mine in mine, and if you won't (please don't) show me yours, I wont' show you mine. And by the way, I'm not gay. 64 year old Granny. Kids. Grandkids. Was alive when people like you wouldn't have opened your mouths because people would have said you were nuts. Now the nuts rule, I guess.
ldo...Former President Clinton is a hugely intelligent man. Just like President Obama. They may have their differences but they ARE united by their party and their fellowship to the citizens of this country. Many with lesser educations never do fully understand genius. So, they bash ideas that make sense, refuse to admit they've been outclassed intellectually and then try in vain to ram down pathetic ideology that only benefits 1% of the population at the expense of the rest of the country.
I won't vote for RoMONEY. I never vote for a Business CEO when the needs of people are at risk. But, that's just me. My understanding of government is that it is based upon the Consitutionality of jajority rule. Therefore, putting a CEO businessman in the White House is asking for a CEO rulership as we experienced under Cheney where all ideas transcend from the corporate rule book and is scripted for solitary rule by an executive board. Completely omitting, of course, much less acknowledging the people who make their salaries possible.
Slick Willy is not off message by accident. He is way too smart for that. He is getting in his digs at every opportunity. What surprised me was that he "allowed" someone to " Clarify" his remarks.
Just calling someone radical does not make them a radical. They would have to have done something over the top. Are you listening Rock addict. Your name says it all, stay off the pipe.
I don't know where my post went.. I will try again... Both parties are bought by the Mega Rich... A vote for either party is more of the same just they do it different ways. Ron Paul has a chance if the media would cover him more, but that won't happen... Just look at what the RNP did to Ron Pauls Delegates in Louisiana..... This is our crooked political party at work....Here is proof... Do the 3 WW's policy mic.com/articles/9163/ron-paul-delegates-arrested-as-they-win-a-majority-at-louisiana-gop-convention

Melodrama and Hyperbole Much?
Thats a rather aggressive, wound up, emotional response to a fairly simple and tame question. Oh I get it maybe thats why your name is Rock Addict. Remember what Nancy Reagan says: "Just Say NO!" & don't forget Whitney "Crack Is Wack".
Please get help soon as a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
It's the difference between the democrats & gop. The democrats so not speak with one voice. But a thousand voices. Is it a weakness or strength. For elections, a weakness. For governance, a strength. It's how democracies function. Everybody having their say.
But mr grover, the gop, & the rushbo answer to a higher power. They get their marching orders from above and so are in lock step. They all have their talking points for the day. They are hardly ever in disarray, talking about different subjects on the same day. No. No. They all have the same opinions about the same subjects on the same day.
I tell you there is nothing like living in a corporate run state. Like reliving 911 and the economic crash of 2007 all over again. Occupy might be right. That a corporate run state is not what the founder's intended.
You need to make up your own mind by reading the book 'Corporations Are Not People: Why They Have More Rights Than You Do and What You Can Do About It' [Paperback]by Jeffrey D. Clements. He says that mr grover, the gop,& the rushbo answer to the real people & corporations, but not in that order.

marshal,
You are so correct. Why when do legistalors take orders from potty mouth Rush Limbough and tax dogers like the Koch tool, Norquist.
People are people and need to think about their enviroment being domainted by money.
Or those 41 Obama White House staffers and some of their aides NOT PAYING their back IRS TAXES:
And these are the same folks who probably write ALL the regulations which has bogged down America's recovery.
Where are the Secretary of the Treasury and the DOJ in taking these CROOKS to Federal Court ?
ldo
Or those 41 Obama White House staffers and some of their aides NOT PAYING their back IR TAXES
Willard and his cronies as well as the Fat Cats owe America some tax money too.
Where are the Secretary of the Treasury and the DOJ in taking these CROOKS to Federal Court ?
When are the Republicans gonna stop voting for tax cuts and loop holes for the rich?
Ido, if you think White House staffers write regulations, you have no clue how the government works. I knew removing civics from the high school curriculum was not a good idea.
@heart
I would love to know how the government works; it has not worked for a long time now..a long ... long ... long time !!
To know how it works americans literally need to grow some b***s and vote for Dr. Paul, or else it will never work; for you or for me or all of us.
Rockaddict
Unfortunately Ron Paul isn't going anywhere thanks to the Media kings. I must admit sometimes he is a little scary, but given the choices he might just be what the country needs to shake up the status quo. From where I sit democrate or republician it makes no difference we're going down the rat hole a mile a minute and that is the the bankers/corporation master plan.
To Ido..............the DOJ is too busy trying to shut down illegal voting tactics by Repubs like the governor of Florida. You Repugs are keeping everyone busy, illegal activity here, illegal activity there. And gee, all of your illegal doings are being shut down by the higher courts. Even ones with GOP majorities. Does that tell you anything?
Walker only won in WI for one reason: Karl Rove. Rove stated early in 2010 he had already amassed billions in corporate donations to keep Walker in his job. What does that tell you? That Republican money accessed from corporations are buying government jobs. How unconstitutional does this need to get?
Walker won an election because Rove and his bombastic tyrants knew to attack from the weak link: public employee unions. This was a Rovian stroke of genius that killed 2 birds with 1 stone. It riled up taxpayers and brainwashed them into believing public worker unions were the biggest problem and then, took the focus off the rich thieves in this country stalling for time to earn higher and higher profits. And, isn't that exactly what happened? Now, more government jobs will be handed over to private sector cronies under Republican rule. Now, taxpayers will never get the truth on what that will cost in taxes. But, as we all know, it's okay for Republicans to take anyone but their Corporate Welfare state and 1% of their crony persuasion.
When on earth did the Democrats speak with many voices? they have gritted their teeth and followed Obama even though they knew it was wrong. they will learn again in November what happens to yellow dogs.
mary...
We'll get an earlier answer than that...the Supreme Court's healthcare reform ruling will be issued before June 25th.
I wonder how many taxpayers know that there is a 3.8% sales tax charge on real estate sales coming in, should the healthcare reform sausage ever actually take place ??? What kind of convoluted mind comes up with the idea to tax the sale of a house in a devastated realty market to help offset the enormous cost of a plan most people do not want. Just another government money grab...as if the funds belong to Washington DC.
Bill Clinton knows how disastrous another Obama presidency will be for our country. I pray to God that he has the courage to step forward and tell the truth about Obama. The Democratic machine will crucify Bill Clinton for doing that, but his words will have more weight and credibility than anyone else-with the possible exception of Hillary Clinton. The personal price he would pay for this act of courage would be beyond measure, but he could perhaps save our nation when no one else can.
WTF?
David ...knock knock...anybody in there? On this planet Clinton said why President Obama is better for the country than Romney. That is what his speech was about. Try watching the speech instead of dreaming of your own.
@starsailing
Is that your head you're knocking on? Even the pundits on the left cringe every time Bill Clinton opens his mouth. He tries walking the fine line between what he wants to say and what he's supposed to say. The fact that those two things are often in opposition says more than folks like you want to admit.
I agree
He needs to get his very tired wife out of that administration first.
The obamas & clintons suck. What more would you expect from a dumbacrat.
Wow,people taking out partial sentences to create a sound bite to support their party's ideology and when it is pointed out to them that his entire sentence supports exactly the opposite of what they stated, we now are told that he is talking in code. WTF, people are delusional, can't read, can't hear....we really do need national healthcare and massive improvements to our education system.
Star sailing maybe you have been outside the universe the past year, but the main disagreement about how to fix the economy between the two parties is how to generate revenue. The dumocraps like you want to increase taxes on the top earners of income while the Republicans are against tax increases. Guess who Slick WIllie sides with the Republicans. Oh and the voters of Wisconsin just voted they are fed up with paying taxes so union retirees can have bigger pensions than they deserve. I have an idea why don't you and your whiney azzed friends take over the statehouse in Wisconsin and protest. Heck I will help hose down the blood when your through.
Bob Jones...Thanks for showing just how much bullying the righties and Republicans have to spew around. First of all, there is no disagreement on how to raise revenues. The government isn't a corporation. Taxpayers provide revenue. DUH. Taxpayers provide that revenue based on their income levels. You can drop the BS snow job of that poor lil rich boi routine. Didn't these rich bois know a higher income means automatic higher taxes?
If you rich bois keep up this demand for lower and lower taxes that force the rest of us into paying higher taxes just to make up the difference, you'll see wrath like you've never seen before.
Taxes increase revenue. Only a right wing dumb ass denies that. When you cut taxes, you reduce revenues. Or don't the tyrants of the right know any math?
Take your bullying and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Daisy Mae might not mind Lil Abner's bullying, but the rest of paying 28% in taxes while rich asses pay 15% like RoMONEY does, is getting to be quite a pain in the ass. Ours, not rich asses.
@ewent
Every one of your posts is crammed full of insults and you're accusing OTHERS of bullying? Do you know what a hypocrite is?
Also do you know what facts are? The average Federal tax liability for someone making over 1 mill is 29% and that doesn't count the progressive taxes many states have. The average Federal tax liability for the middle class is 15%. Got your numbers backwards there genius.
"This year, households making more than $1 million will pay
an average 29.1% of their income in federal taxes, including income taxes,
payroll taxes and other taxes, according to the Tax Policy
Center, a Washington think tank.
Households making between $50,000 and $75,000 will pay an
average of 15% of their income in federal taxes.
Lower-income households will pay less. For example,
households making between $40,000 and $50,000 will pay an average of 12.5% of
their income in federal taxes. Households making between $20,000 and $30,000
will pay 5.7%"-http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/taxes/story/2011-09-20/buffett-tax-millionaires/50480226/1
Obama changed his name from Barry to Barrack, because Barry sounded "too white." Obama went to a church for 20 years that preached Black Liberation Theology-communism to help black people. Obama has talked about the redistribution of wealth. Obama has referred to the private sector as the enemy. Obama has had only about 6 months working a non government job in his life. Remember the 100,000 person domestic Army he talked about during the last election? What was that about-citizen surveillance? He defunded NASA and made us into a super power without a space program. And he tries to circumvent the Congress with presidential edicts. I question also his mental health. Is Obama fit to be president? Does he believe in the concept of democracy or capitalism?
I can say things like this, but I can at best be a private citizen worrying about his country. The political machine that is the Democratic Party ignores single voices as they would the chirping of a cricket. People would listen to Bill Clinton, however. Bill Clinton has to power to save our country from an empty, power hungry Obama who loves personal power more than he loves our country.
Ever one will be voting Republican in November...just wait and see ...its gona be worse than the last election...wont be any Democrats left this time.
So you don't favor a two-party system? We've suspected this, but interesting you actually admit it. We'll be happy to show you to the door so you can live in a dictatorship or autocracy or gawd knows what. How about Iran? Yeah, a theocracy, that might do.
Still 2 party TP, just Republican majority.
Dream on. The GOP is more unpopular than ever. I wouldn't vote for a republican under any circumstances. I'm not a fan of Obama and may sit this one out, but under no circumstances could I vote for an ignorant corporate elitist like Romney.
yup jeffy......you're right...really unpopular...like in Wisconsin Yesterday.
you and your party are fading and it really gets stuck in your neck, doesn't it?
Joe...Dream on ....Do you want to know who will be voting Republican come 2012? Anyone named Lil Abner or Daisy Mae. And why do you think some of the least educated in this country would do that? Because in their backcountry minds, a businessman is so far above them, their belief is similar to what they believe about owners of those coal mines...A CEO is like their Big Daddy who provides all. Of course, Republican politicians will hoodwink these poor unfortunates just like mine owners have done for generations. Pay them salaries that are anything but living wages, force them to work in dangerous environments and then only buy from the company store.
The only other misfits who'll vote Republican are jealous middle aged men who failed at business and now blame everyone but themselves. You know? Those unethical contractors who can't sell an honest day's service without skankola?
Massive inflation and 50% unemployment is coming. We got bigger problems ahead of us. Washington is so full of sh*t.
I just saw where the lying, Divide & Conquerer, Scott Walker, gave his congratulatory speech that he wanted to thank the people in his state.
SMDH, he didn't thank FOX NOISE the Koch bros, his Sugar Daddies, or all the the suckers from all over the United States who sent him all that money. Righties, don't mention the unions. The unions were out spent in huge, farcial, proportions.
I really feel sorry for Wisconsin to be so duped by this Koched Up tool; Scott Walker.
Why they elected him.. you should feel proud of them.
We love Walker as do the smart people of IL. That is why they invited him to speak in their state to help them balance a budget and get back in order. Beverly, we in WI hope that the liberal population of IL will keep despising Scott Walker and STAY OUT OF OUR STATE!!! It would be nice to be able to travel our roads on a weekend and not have to deal with the F.I.B.'s
McGeer,
Wisconsin should charge a toll for F.I.B.'s just like they charge all of you to go south.
Beverly: Are you from another country or what? This is democracy at it's finest. The people have spoken.
McGeer.
Beverly, we in WI hope that the liberal population of IL will keep despising Scott Walker and STAY OUT OF OUR STATE!!! It would be nice to be able to travel our roads on a weekend and not have to deal with the F.I.B.'s
How about those Koch bros? Do you love them wanting to make you people in WI surfs?
If you leave it to them not only will you not have roads to travel on; neither will you have any properties left. Just look at Michigan; for example. You know the Kochs are going to make good on their investment. WI is for sale and Scott Walker is their bytche to sell it. I really, really, feel sorry for your gullibity. But you got what you deserve a bytche.
What are F.I.B.'s
Bev, we really, really DON'T feel sorry for YOUR gullibilty. We got what WE wanted.
Excuse me, but the entire situation began with all the Democrat/lib Senators running away from home, rather than taking a vote. Then President Obama called out the dem/lib/communist/union machinery to call attention the people that a Republican governor was doing his job, while his Dem/lib Senators were hiding out. He portrayed the dem/libs as "protecting" American workers. The dem/libbers called on the unions to demonstrate and to run wild in the streets. We witnessed children demonstrating with teachers, yet not knowing what they were demonstrating about...while they belonged in their classrooms. We witnessed doctors in the crowds writing illegal prescriptions for time off, so teachers and union workers could break the law and be demonstrating during their work day.
Most of us never even knew the benefits we were paying for State workers. But President Obama presided over Federal workers, and they are not allowed to unionize at all...because it had to do with the spending of taxpayer dollars. So too does state taxpayers.
We began to realize that we were not only trying to save for our own retirements, but we were also financing those who were members of unions. Members of unions who got to freeze us out if we wouldn't pay to be a member. Unions that not only represented us on the job, but sent our dues to the dem/lib party and gave us inordinate benefits for their guaranteed votes. Unions made the Dem/lib party money, and it made them strong...strong enough to disenfranchise all the other voters and to take our dollars to cushion their lives. This was an incestuous relationship, and while all the dem/libbers were demonstrating, the rest of us were looking around all over the United States. This kind of thing is going on throughout the United States and we, the people, are paying for a political party to be and to remain in power. We began to examine all the other connections that the dem/libbers had, and we began to realize that there were "Corporations" that paid the dem/libbers, were not under attack. Senators in Congress who were millionaires were not under attack either. They got rich by being where they were and by making deals with taxpayer dollars.
I don't know if the dem/lib/socialist-communists have noticed, but there appear to be less dem/libbers here lately. It's an embarrassment to be known as a democrat these days. It has become so obvious that dem/libber/communist-socialists are NOT seeking to strengthen America or to help our citizens to be successful. Dem/lib/socialist-communists have targetted our children...even seeking to ask our children to divulge family secrets to dem/lib/communist-socialist controlled Boards of Education, and have introduced what parents consider to be immoral into the public school while distorting our Constitution by declaring that there is a separation between church and state that doesn't and hasn't ever existed in the manner they describe. Their goal is to control America, enrich themselves, and ultimately subjugate the rest of America. Obama has gone a long way towards attempting to do that, and been very successful in alot of ways, while the rest of America sits shocked that he has been allowed to get away with it.
No, the biggest mistake of the Obama Administration was to allow us to see exactly how the dem/lib/socialist-communists operate in our country. We the people refuse to pay anymore.
Who is this Beverly in Chicago? She needs to quit her stupid posting, or she is going to miss her school bus. I guessing 3rd grade, make 4th.
And they wonder why Illinois is going down hill faster than California.
Hmm Bev, didn't see you complaining when Obama out spent MC Cain 6 to one in 2008. BTW, how much do they pay you to post here? Is it enough to make a living on? Do you have to have a minimum amount of posts to collect or is it like piece work, by the post? Maybe it is a union gig where all you have to do is show up and you get paid? Enlighten us....
Capt...
Maybe they get paid by the insult ?
Clinton reminds of the dog humping your leg that walks off, but is still going through the motions.
LMAO
That is one of the things I like about Billy Boy!
Fubarak.............LMAO. I hate, hate, hate Bill Clinton. Everybody says how people prospered under his presidency but I lost everything. Every single thing that mattered. He cut the Air Force program I was working on to less than a tenth of what is was supposed to be. i would have retired from that program yet here i am working for less than $10.00 an hour. A wage I made 30 years ago when it was enough to live on. President Obama definitely took on Bush's bad administration. There is no way he could have recovered from Bush's horrible second term,
in one term as President. He is in touch with the people in a way Romney never was and never will be. All I can see in Romney as a president is the rich get richer and the middle class get poorer and the poor get destitute. How else did he win the primary? Shhhhhh..................he has rich friends. They insured his win. God help America if Romney wins. He has never had anything but his own agenda in mind. Sure............let's see old Romney turn it around in 4 years.
still seeing him doin' the dryhump! Hillaryarious!
SOunds like Billy was just sucking up to Obie so that he can get to check out the pages in the White House to see if they want a cigar.
Noladude-2763286
SOunds like Billy was just sucking up to Obie so that he can get to check out the pages in the White House to see if they want a cigar.
Noladude
Actually, Clinton is more comservative that President Obama. He is just speaking his convictions. Clinton does not want a pluotracy. He said it in the awesome speech he gave earlier when he said a Romney Presidency would be calamitous . On the other hand, President Obama has maintained his stance against the 1%ers.
Note well, Presidnet Obama said...
"I spent a lifetime in public service .. I'm more determined than I've ever been to finish what we started."
President Obama is a multimillionaire and is a 1%er.
That's right he is a 1%er. They all are! They will tell us one thing but never do anything to screw themselves.
Yeah...President Obama may be a 1%er, and he wants to pay his fair share of taxes as should all other 1%ers. Repubs of 1% fame want YOU to pay their share of the taxes for them. See the difference....? Duh!
@starsailing
Yeah he says he want to "pay his fair share" when he pushes for his Buffet rule, even though it wouldnt' raise his taxes one cent. And what the hell is the liberal definition of "fair"??? The top 1% pay 36% of the Federal income tax. Only a brain dead moron would consider that to be less than "fair".
And I've got to ask because it's driving me nuts; do you want a cracker Polly?
So all the billionaires and the millionaires, and the big oil and all the corporations ending up paying zero taxes, and you backcountry, the great mathmatician come up with a fantasy 36%. So the most recent poll shows that 72% want the rich to pay more taxes. Your self description of yourself says it all. Even the CEO of the big oil say they do not need the subsidies, yet the repubs just blocked the removal of those subsidies. Bush bailed out the banksters and they give themselves a bonus.....and like JP Morgan proved 2 weeks ago, the rich are already gambling again and the greedy will crash the economy once more because repubs block all reform to prevent another crash.
@starsailing
I don't "come up" with sht, I look up facts. "Coming up" with BS and rhetoric is clearly YOUR department.
Here's my facts- http://ntu.org/tax-basics/who-pays-income-taxes.html
Where are yours??? I won't hold my breath waiting.
during the clinton years the economy was booming.....we all made good money.
...obama should take notes from this conservative democrat president.
Both Presidents Clinton and Obama are moderate Democrats. And the president is trying to model the Clinton era but he can't do it with congress obstructing all efforts.
Did you see the survey on topics like the environment, government role to help those who can't help themselves, etc.? It shows liberals are still the same in their positions, but conservatives have changed by as much as 20 points to the Right of where they used to be.
Here's another one for ya, using Glenn Beck's chalkboard:
George Bush --> Mitt Romney = George Romney. Weird, huh?
Glenn Beck, wierd huh LOL
Clinton governed like a moderate, so I assume he is. Obama is not a moderate. He is about as liberal as you can get. I would call him a socialist. His record reflects that.
Romney is a moderate republican, which is why the conservatives of the party were/are so slow to warm up to him. You can not be a republican in Mass and win if you not a moderate. Does anyone really think a true conservative republican could win anything in Mass! By all accounts he has been extremely successful. I find that appealing. I find Obama much more likable than the plastic man, Romney, but Obama's governed so far to the left I don't think we can take another 4 years. We should be in a robust recovery now, but Obama has created an environment in which the business world just doesn't trust him and therefore they are sitting on their dough waiting to see what happens. The economy has done almost nothing during his term. I thought he was set up for success when he was elected because surely we would be in full recovery mode 3 years later, but his policies and attitude toward the business community has not allowed that to happen. Clinton understood the importance of the business world and governed moderately. I am not sure Romney is the answer, but I am not sure he could be worse than Obama.
Support who you want but anyone saying Obama is a moderate is an outright lie. That is like saying Rush is a moderate on the other side. Would any liberal agree to that?
Clinton rode the Dot Com bubble, IGNORED the coming economic crash, and did little to prevent 9-11...
1. Obama was one of ACORNS lawyers that sued Citybank for Redlining and FORCED the banks to make loans to unqualified people (1964)...
2. Brooksley Born head of the CFTC was giving the WARNING about the unregulated OTC DERIVATIVES. It was Clintons Administration that told her to STFU 1995 to1998... see http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2009/10/brooksley-born-on-pbs-frontline-tonight-talking-about-the-financial-crisis/ & http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/warning/
3. The funding, planning, training and placing the key terrorist in the USA. ALL of these things happened during Clinton's watch...
4. And there was Chinagate and the Clintons are still receiving and having to give Chinese money to Charities... see http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2003/5/26/214938.shtml & http://michellemalkin.com/2010/01/05/a-chinagateclinton-crony-returns/
Nobama is a radical; a very suscesful one who will turn all you know today in a nightmare worst than that lived in the worst of the more radicals commies countries because he counts in most of America's ignorance on how a police nation would work; he is being laying the fundation to all that and is been working in the agenda for a long time; way before anyone would have dream him in the white house.
The man is intelligent and a lot of people take him for granted and are making a big mistake that will cost your freedom some day..more than the one it have been already taken. People will not wake up til is too late; i see it many more see it; majority seems not to see or to turn their face away..there is always a price to pay for being ignorant and stubborn, to all those who are this way; being libs or conservatives
True patriot...
How droll, The economy was already in recovery when clinton took over as the gulf war ended and the capital raised by the 1986 tax reform act flowed through the economy. IE consumers had money and were optimistic on America's future. Then let's not forget the relaxation of regulations throughout the 90's as well.
Of course, let's not forget that clinton didn't promote divisiveness or try to blame others for any of his perceived values. Neither did he try to force through massive legislation that would have choked off growth.
Obama choked off growth because he did have the support of congress for obamacare and financial reform. Most already are familiar with the term "to big to fail", obama and company gave us legislation "to big to impliment". Come on TP, both of these pieces of legislation were signed into law over two years ago, yet key elements of obamacare are before the SCOTUS and the regs are still being formulated for financial reform.
You mean the part where he raised taxes, where he nationalized Big Oil, where he instituted government-run healthcare (a la NHS), where he cut military spending to the bone, where he created more government jobs, or where his administration resulted in stock indexes going down and corporate profits became nonexistent?
Oh, right, none of those things has actually happened.
Obama is a socialist as much as Teddy Roosevelt was a far-right extremist. We have not had a single socialist president in America, thank God. If we did, you'd damn sure know about it. Do a little research on what socialism actually is like. It's not just telling the people, "buy healthcare or we'll fine you." That's like saying that giving me proprietary rights over my own food is hardcore capitalism.
Too bad the perb can not convince the homo how to be a prez instead of just a campaigner/organizer.
Too bad know one tought you a language
With all the Hate and Hubris on this thread, I wonder if we are the United States of America or are we just the United States Junior High School......No wonder the world hates us.
Keep watching and really see where it comes from.
Nope we are the Divided States of America thanks to the bleeding heart libs of course
Right the US is divided by "bleeding heart libs." How thoughtful of you to share with us your desire to reunify the country. Fingerpointing & name calling just divides the country further. Time to grow up rockaddict.
Didn't know people were still listening to Bill Clinton.
BC had a piss poor national security policy(Gave away the entire plate to CHINA) and was the curator of the mortgage mess sure the economy was generally good under BC but years later (Like a Tidal Wave)you can see the result of his policies he created A REAL MESS what a LOSER. Ride into the sunset PLEASE............
Bill Clinton signed the Community Revitalization act that used redlining as an excuse to force banks to give loans to people for houses they would never be able to afford, whether or not they could afford them. His act is what led to the real estate collapse.
Clinton is a TRADER, REDCOAT, & LIEBERMAN! BUSH TAX BREAKS MUST EXPIRE FOR THE 1%
Tax reform first, then eliminate the obama (bush) tax cuts across the board.
Actually, if the top 1% leaves the country, the need for services will leave with them. They own our businesses, and they are the ones who provide jobs. Do you really think that Obama or the dem/libs create jobs? No, they just make monetary demands on business and most of the time they don't care how badly their laws affect the American workers. Remember Bill Clinton's laws allowing globalization?
nkorb1, just where are the JOBS the 1% are providing... people like you want to complain about the unemployment rate but then say there are jobs being created by the rich... WTF? Trickle down has never worked and it never will because the rich got rich by being greedy and they will always be greedy. They WILL NOT create any jobs because they want to make the economy look as bad as possible until they can get another Bush clone in the White House so they can get all the money from the poor and middle class... trickle down is actually trickle up with all the money from the "have nots" going to the "haves". If you are not a millionaire and are voting Republican, you are cutting off your own nose... SMH
@Lonewolf - you want to know where the jobs are? Look around you, any private sector job is a job created by someone in the 1%. The 1% is anyone making more than $343,000. Do you really think people making less than that are creating jobs? Someone making $50,000 a year isn't creating a paycheck for anyone but himself.
Is he a stock or bond trader?
its plain obama is in way over his head but his arrogance denies him the ability to seek wise council. you must wonder as i do if obama actually believes the moronic spewing from his own lips or does he think saying makes it so? do we have change? from here the change i see is conditions are worse than pre obama and continually solidifying.
Cheese is over your head and a boycott on it is to come.
What spews from your lips is what somebody laid his precious loins of hate on you.
All hate talk and no facts or plans by repubs except to kill all soc sec, medicare, the post office , etc and privatize them for more personal profit with more tax breaks for the greedy rich.
Speaking of the greedy rich, Obama with his "Buffet Rule" forgot to remind Warren to pay his $billion plus back taxes still owed to the IRS for years. Warren claims he wants to be taxed more but has failed to so far except with hot air and bs hypocrisy. Buffett is an insider to Presidential leaderships and Congress profiting from various legislations benefiting certain stocks. He is a part of the tail wagging the dog profiting at taxpayer's expense (bailouts).
He was one of a few that ran towards stock purchases in failing banks when others were running away because he knew the bailouts were coming. He even helped to create the initial bailout plans for the Bush Administration. Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs and others.
Starsailing, I see that you have become quite proficient in cut and paste when it comes to your personal opinions.
Did you know that you can create cheese in your own kitchen?
The Buffett rule is a joke in and of itself. It proposed to instill a 30% minimum tax on households with more than $1million in income. It didn't touch capital gains, which are not considered income and are taxed at 15%, which is why they pay a lower tax rate to begin with. If Buffett wants to pay a higher tax rate he could simply start taking all his compensation as income rather than shares and dividends. This would increase his tax rate.
Wrong american.......while you are playing with paste remember you are not supposed to eat it. The Ryan plan specifically kills the the things teabaggers say that want government to keep their hands off. Also gives more tax breaks to the rich at the expense of middle and lower class who have to make up for the taxes the rich no longer pay. The Ryan plan also cuts the food stamps that the poor and starving need in order to pay for the new tax breaks for the rich. The newest polls show 72% of all Americans want the rich 1% to pay more taxes. I agree, Buffet included need to pay their fair share of taxes. Repubs and Norquist plan make it so the rich have laws to skew the laws to their favor with tax shelters etc where the end result is paying no taxes whatsoever.
American.....I am all for tax reforms. Take the 1% Bush/republican tax breaks back to Reagan's level. Repubs are against tax reform. They have been blocking giving tax breaks for companies that stay in America and block taking away tax breaks from those people and corporations that moved their business overseas or to Mexico. After accomplished, remove the President Obama tax breaks. All tax breaks for the rich are republican owned....maybe you forgot how the repubs ruined the nation credit rating when they demanded even more tax breaks for the rich holding the nation hostage on that one ideal....greed!. No one forgets how the repubs met right after President Obama's inauguration and pledged to make President Obama a one term president meaning obstruct. You can try to hide facts all you want, but the facts remain. No one forgets that republicans took the Norquist pledge against the country. If president Obama took a pledge to anyone one persons plan there would be hell to pay...
Starsailing . . how about a FLAT TAX?? So simple and logical that it has to be fair. No tax if you earn nothing or are below the poverty line, xx% if you are above (for Warren Buffett and everyone), or something similar.
No tax deductions for houses, private schools, confessional use on Sunday's, or anything else that Grover Norquist wants. Why wouldn't that work??? (because everyone will come out of the woodwork for their own special interests??).
Any complicated tax code with all the rules and deductions our has cannot be fair, a flat tax would at least be equitable. Heck, even Herman Cain could figure that out!!
Is it not amazing how money can buy an election. Good job middle class you did it. At least that is what the braindead brainwashed believe. Middle America did it. So F**** sad! When is this country coming back to reality?
Barry and his people BRAG about his Billion dollar war chest. So, BO must be buying his re-election too. Or at least TRYING to. The way I see it, not looking good.
Why are Kock bros spending 400 million , Rove hundred or two million, numerous billionaires hundreds of millions each ? They want to buy the pereson who will just sign the bills. Norquist said it does not matter which of their candidates win, they just need someone to sign the bills for them. Repubs take the oath of office to the United staes then took the pledge to obey Norqusit above the nation. I call that being a traitor. Corporations now allow foreign countries to give money to repubs to choose the president and politicians they want and not what the U.S. citizens want under repubs Citizens United plan. Money now buys the republican party because THEY refuse to change this law.
Whats the matter star gazer? Forgetting that obama outraised campaign funding in 2008 vs mccain by nearly a factor of 2 or that his campaign team has a goal of raising $1 billion this go around?
Middle class America are the taxpayers. Don't you think they ought to have some say? I do. The poor doesn't pay taxes at all, and the rich provide jobs and get breaks. We aren't rich, but we're taxed as if we are, and the dem/lib/communist-socialists want more, because we manage to pay our bills and buy a home and try and plan for our futures and our children's futures. We need to be punished some more? I don't think so...we, Middle class America, refuse to pay any more. We demand that Unions and the dem/lib party come under investigation and that expenses be cut BEFORE we get ANY tax raises. AND we demand that the so called Bush tax cut be made permanent. We're sick of living under dem/lib/socialist threats.
Starsailing . . I saw Grover Norquist on TV on Monday. I was wondering who this guy was that you are always talking about.
Now I see; he looks very much like you!! Take his glasses off, add skullcap . . are you sure that you two are not one and the same?? He is your Alter-Ego?!!!
Repubs put in place Citizens United allowing anyone all over the world to buy their republican candidate for the office of the president of the United States. 66% of walker money came from outstate in Wisc election. Elections can be bought. When dems start collecting money for President Obama because of new rules, repubs put in place they cry foul......... Pretty sad testacle you had to look up who Norquist was, shows your lack of political knowledge. You assume the photo with my id is me? You are wrong, but your photo on your id suits you fine. Notice you are not plural but singular...one missing explains your rant.
Nkor....the poor don't pay taxes is nonsense. There are all kinds of everyday taxes the poor pay (gas, food, clothes, etc)but the difference between rich and poor is the rich get to deduct those taxes to pay less or no taxes because of the tax laws that favor the rich. Poor rich people...booo...hoo more fox fake spin.
American...2-1 in funding? Guess that shows why America elected President Obama over McCain. Crashing the economy and killing all our soldiers in Iraq was not the brightest idea repubs had.
What ? Did you have a lathargic brain contusion to you ass?
Yopu post derisive posts, which are less than worthless. You denigrate others. You call people stupid. In a world of spell check you cannot even spell lethargic correctly. Typical Progressive. Pat yourself on the back for making us all laugh. No, not with you.
Speak not of poverty. They have no voice in America anyway. Thanks to the bible thumping right, Just the people Jesus wanted. LOL LOL LOl LOL
Good luck Wasteconsinites. Now your waters will be polluted and your land fracked but fear not, the Koch brothers got your ass. And will probably sell that for a profit too.
Deadly bacteria found in all Wisconsin cheese. It is called walker dumb own ya.
You spoke your thoughts and now all we have to say is . How stupid can our people be?
The laughing stock of the world. the only country that votes against itself.
Oncearepub. You are short sighted. We are not the laughing stock...but rather the ENVY of other countries that wish they could have the same opportunity to fairly and democratically vote out a leader if they wish.
America is one of the few countries left that has the freedom to vote someone out. In layman's terms, it means not having to "take out" politicians in order to change the leadership.
God Bless New York Cheese.
Giving tax breaks to the wealthy has done nothing to increase jobs for the past 20 years. All it's done is make them more wealthy! But then the wealthy are the ones who write and vote on the laws!
Clinton has always been for the middle class and supported the federal govt overseeing how the states spent the money for programs such as Aid to dependent children and did not allow the game of employing my sister's husband for key positions to give em a job. Simce he left office the states are misusing tax dollars for welfare programs , pocketiing in clever often illegal ways and not using for the people intended. We need more oversight in how the states use our tax dollars- if this had been done and followed through most of us would not be worrying where our retirement or social security money will be when we need it. I know this reply is off topic- just felt I need to comment in this direction- start with our local representatives and put someone in the positions to hopefully endorse laws and policies that really do protect our tax dollars- fine the abuse of those spending them.
