President Obama headed toward wins in both primaries Tuesday in Arkansas and Kentucky, but suffered losses of about 40 percent of the vote in each contest against token opposition.
Over four in 10 Democratic voters in Kentucky's primary on Tuesday chose the "uncommitted" option versus President Barack Obama, who won the state's primary.
And perennial candidate John Wolfe, Jr. took just about 40 percent of the primary vote versus Obama in Arkansas, according to early returns tabulated by the Associated Press. (Wolfe won't be awarded any delegates, either.)
The president's performance in both contests carries no substantive importance; Obama has already scored the necessary delegates in previous caucuses and primaries to be re-nominated by Democrats, and he wasn't expected to win either Arkansas or Kentucky in the general election versus Mitt Romney.
But the primaries carry a degree of symbolic weight, if only to fuel Republicans' gawking about how an incumbent president could fare so poorly in primaries despite facing no meaningful opponent.
Romney wins Kentucky, Arkansas primaries
Obama lost 65 of 120 counties in Kentucky to the uncommitted option, though most of those counties were lost by a slim margin, in some of the least populous counties in the state.
But Republicans have been especially eager to point toward the fact that Kentucky's primary is closed only to Democrats, meaning that some portion of the state's Democrats had to turn out at the polls (likely to participate in other contests on the ballot), and decide to explicitly oppose a president of the same party.
Lessons learned from inmate's challenge to Obama in W.Va.
That was the same case in the West Virginia primary earlier this month, when convicted felon Keith Judd won about 41 percent in a similarly uncompetitive primary.
But all three states — West Virginia, Kentucky and Arkansas — are home to either Appalachian or white, rural poor voters with whom Obama has traditionally struggled and historically underperformed in 2008 versus other Democratic presidential candidates. Some political observers have suggested that Obama's race has unduly weighed on his prospects in those ares. Moreover, turnout in each contest was especially low, opening the door for swings in the vote.
The general election, though, won't generally be fought in states where these voters make up a large portion of the electorate, more likely making Tuesday's primary results a footnote to the 2012 campaign than a dominating theme.

LOL....if the looney libs aren't nervous now nothing will help their delusions...lol
Two weeks until Walker retains his job and another month of ObummerCare until the SCOTUS rights that wrong!
Man, it feels good to be a conservative!
Romney/Rubio 2012!
So Teapubs who registerd as Dems show their faces and you think it's meaningful. I can't wait till Obama wins again so I can see all the Teapubs heads explode. All blood and no brain matter.
It's really depressing to see what the American voter has become... We're left with a choice between death by hanging or death by firing squad, and these two groups are cheering for their chosen method of destruction as if it's some sort of salvation.
The liberal power of delusion is an unmatched force of nature. When that clown wins, which he probably will, our collective fates will be sealed. Evidently, somewhere in this unmitigated disaster is a reason to rejoice.
The lot of you make me sick, but what makes me even sicker is that I'll be spending 6 figures a year supporting your failure.
jonal11---------- You mean 40% of registered Democrats are not really Democrats? If this percentage of registered Democrats don't vote for Obama he will lose in a landslide of historic proportions. I don't think you realize what you're saying.
It's Romney/Trump 2012 two losers of the same ilk
LOL.....even "Joe the Plumber" will not be voting for Mr. Biden, nor Mr. Obama.
Amazing that the Vice President of the United States of America stated that "plumbers" could not be President because of lack of skills. Another potential voter base thrown under the Obama Bus. Wow, I wonder if Mr. Biden learned that in Kindergarten.
And, there is a continued "Notice" out to the Liberals to get the VOTE out.....wait a minute....dead folks can't get "out".
Brought to you by the NEW Obama Campaign spokes people: The Black Panthers.
Ido ----- Biden finished in the bottom 10% of his law school class and was charged with plagiarism. That should tell you many a plumber would outperform him in a political position. He is a dim bulb.
This goes to show the general dissatisfaction even the Democrats have with Obama's performance. He has shown that he is no different from any other politician who will say whatever they have to to get elected and then do what they want after. Many Democrats fell for Obama's "hope and change" BS and have come to realize that it was just that, a bunch of BS. Obama has been one of the most divisive Presidents in our history. He constantly creates friction between the political parties so they he can then point fingers at the Republicans when things do not get done and he has been one of the worst in history with his blatant promotion of class warfare in this country. A President should be a unifying force to bring together the parties to get things done and to bring the country together to make it better. Instead Obama has purposely torn this country apart with his divisive rhetoric and has caused this country to be more divided today then at any time at least since the civil rights marches of the 60s, if not since the civil war. Obama is bad for this country and another four years of him and his policies will tear this country apart and cause it to sink even deeper into division, class warfare, and general mistrust, not to mention the economic damage his policies are doing. Obama feels he is above the law and uses executive orders to tell his administration to blatantly ignore and not enforce duly passed federal statutes in direct violation of the separation of powers laid out in the Constitution. If any republican had tried to use executive orders to bypass statutes the way Obama has the democrats would be in an uproar calling for impeachment. He acts more like a dictator than a democratic president and needs to be removed from office before he can do any more damage to this country.
micheal 1969 - start with a very whimpy name, if your gay it's ok I don't care my best friend is. All I have to say is your on the wrong end of reality, but your choice but in Nov. you will look like my picture.
Sorry your right wing and on the wrong side of the American People. TaTa
Obama's out ....
Democrats don't even want him anymore .... "LOL"
At least Jimmy Carter doesn't have to worry anymore about going down as the worst president in history.
If Romney gets West Virginia and Florida that should push him over the top.
These Democrats are to the Democrats what Condoleeza Rice is to the Republicans. She doesn't know the Republicans went racist since her family first joined, so she stays. The white Appalachians obviously don't know the Nazi, KKK, and Dixiecrats left for Republican party 40 years ago.
They need to go on and do the switch like millions of others have always done. This way, those KY voters can start voting yes for tax cuts for the rich. The Republicans may even reward them with a bucket of corn pone.
*Banjo music plays in background.
Ladies and Gentlemen...and whatever else is on here (Just kidding...maybe),
I live in Kentucky and we have a lot of people who listen to the radical lies.
But something I pointed out to someone else. Some of President Obama's supporters didn't go to the polls. They new he was the only Democratic candidate for President and many voters here don't pay attention to the lesser offices voted on today. Sad, but true.
One of the things I would like to point out is according to Politico Romney got 117,396 votes in Kentucky and President Obama got 119,277 votes in Kentucky. Even if President Obama didn't get as much support from Democrats as he should have....Romney got a lot less Republican votes than you would think he would in a Republican state. So who really did poorly in Kentucky's Primaries?
JohnSixty...let me put your comment a little more succinctly: if you don't vote for Obama you are a racist.
No inspiration like desperation.
Michael,
I wonder how or why some people feel good about being intellectually inferior.

This wasn't "cherry picked", by the way. The searches always load the pages up with the same information.
If you take the time to read it, be sure to note the chart with big bright red blocks (so the ultra-conservatives have a chance to understand it) that shows the more conservative one is the lower the intelligence. I think ultra-conservatives are a little above baboon level.
So KY and AR, two meaningless states, have some sort of mock election where teabaggers register as democrats trying to fool the rest of the country into thinking Obama will lose to Romneycare in some sort of surprise landslide? I just love the fact that a bunch of these idiots first had to register as Demoncrats, and secondly, I love that they will have to hold their noses and vote for the empty suit, and he still will lose to the incumbent.
Four more years! Obama/Biden 2012! And then bring on Hillary! Their blood pressure has to be about 190/120 now.
Those are vary interesting numbers, Deborah. It puts the primaries and this story into perspective. Those are the same numbers I'm finding.
"Some political observers have suggested that Obama's race has unduly weighed on his prospects in those ares."
Obama is half white. Why does everyone continue to IGNORE THAT? Because his skin is darker than white? What a bunch of idiots the press are. The main stream media has focused on his "blackness" more than ANYONE ELSE besides Obama himself!!! Remember the remark about Trayvon Martin looking like his son?? WTF was that suppose to mean? What would the reaction have been if Bush said that?
Stop the stupid distractions and focus on his policies. How about the fact that he hasn't passed a budget since he took office? Can you or I run our finances like that?
Start holding these politicians to the fire with regard to their deeds.
IMO Dems & Reps are the same on monetary policies. They only differ on non-monetary social issues. What does this mean. Compare the past 5 presidents - all spent the same or more money on Defense, avoided fixing Social Security, Protects illegal immigrants' rights over American Citizens, Bail outs, Oil subsidies.
Where do they differ the most and which gets the most attention to keep voters angry at each other: Abortion and Gay marriage.
Meanwhile they have spent our country into oblivion which is going to fall on generations to come.
Wake up people and start looking deeper than the BS that is spoon fed to you from the master manipulators and marketers. Look for alternative information, it's abundantly out there. There is no excuse to continue to be fooled over and over again.
WakeupPeople - IF those people would not vote for President Obama because he is "black," I doubt being half-white makes one iota of difference to them. They would be just as prejudiced against a "mulatto" as they would "black", possibly more so. You know, the mixing of races, etc.
for all the media hype; the hand-writing is on the wall; obama and his group have misread the mood of america, they are heading to a crushing defeat in congress, senate and the white house, how can a group of people be so off base, is anyone's guess !
"But all three states — West Virginia, Kentucky and Arkansas — are home to either Appalachian or white, rural poor voters with whom Obama has traditionally struggled..."
Pretty much sums it up right there.
Do I hear banjo music?
LOL, complete oxymoron there, If you think there is any difference in Obummers and Mittens, you are going to be sorely disappointed.
prohib, there will be a difference, one, Romney, is for the free enterprise system, Obama is for a government owned economic system. Two, Romney has a lot of experience in the free enterprise system, Obama has none, and is very satisfied with knowing nothing about a free enterprise system. I am voting for the American this time. If you love your country, you will, also.
Where is Feisty Redhead? I notice she chooses to stay away from story's like this not even her Lib rants would be enough to spin this story in favor for the Libs. It is a great day to be an American. We can succumb to the socialist views of the Libs, most of them that feel this way have all ready made there fortune so of course they feel this way, or we can stand up and say enough with the government take-over of our lives. Obama is all for government take-over that is why he wants to increase welfare instead of teach people how to actually achieve the American dream by way of hard work, as most of our ancestors did when they can to this country. I chose the American way the way that allows anyone to become rich through hard work, ingenuity and a dream. If you give up on your dreams you have nothing to work for.
Romney 2012 – PUT AMERICA BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK. LESS GOVERNMENT LESS SPENDING.
I agree and am actually laughing to myself about this goof ....he serves at the pleasure of a President as the underling to a boss who has never been successful in the private sector....he must jump to the commands of a man who had little to no exposure to foreign policy, which shows...painfully shows. Who is at the beck and call of a guy whom he insulted during the primary with overtly racist remarks. Who was a political infant compared to Bidens years of public service and overall understanding, misguided as his efforts have been, of the Federal Government with actual first hand knowledge.
Do we really, as a nation, wish to re-elect this motley bunch who have no clue and yet profess to know so much more than the rabble they serve about how Americans should live their lives and consequently work to feed the corrupt DNC and their efforts to stave off the poor so the top tier can live in peace and throw crumbs to the growing poor in this country? I personally won't be voting for anyone who thinks they are smarter than me because well they aren't and probably will never be, after all their attempts to promote themselves at the cost of American lives abroad are well the only thing that is transparent about this administration. Perhaps, their argument works with the low and no income crowd and even those who must participate in fringe special interest groups because they cannot muster the courage to live their lives free of federal intrusions.
Let's just hope the majority of Americans vote so that we can remain the strong, independent and self-driven nation that has afforded us the ability to be individuals rather than a nation of cattle being herded to mediocrity.
First the KKK was created by the Democrats to kill Republican Congress Men, the only reason the African Americans became a target was because they were all Republicans. The African American switch came on the back of a Martin Luther King endorsement of JFK in order to secure his release from Birmingham. Prior to this both JFK and his brother Bobby both voted against the Civil Rights Movement that was presented by the Republican Party under . Democrats for the most part have kept their party enslaved by entitlement programs, and giving them a hand out just to keep their heads above water, but never a hand up because they would loose control of their constituents.
Obama’s Five Trillion Dollar Lie
May 22, 2012
Print Version
Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
Why isn’t the U.S. economy in a depression right now? The number one reason is because the federal government has stolen more than five trillion dollars from future generations since Barack Obama was elected and has used that money to pump up our grossly inflated standard of living. Whether the federal government spends money wisely or foolishly, the truth is that the vast majority of it still ends up in the pockets of the American people who then use it to buy the things they need for their daily lives. If the U.S. government had not borrowed and spent an extra five trillion dollars that we did not have over the past several years, we would be in the middle of a rip-roaring economic depression right now. So any talk that Barack Obama is “improving the economy” is a total farce. It is a five trillion dollar lie. The reality is that Barack Obama and the U.S. Congress have been stealing trillions of dollars from future generations in order to make things tolerable in the present. If the federal government adopted a balanced budget next year, the debt-fueled prosperity that we are currently enjoying would start disappearing very rapidly and all hell would break loose in America.
At this point, the U.S. national debt is over 15.7 trillion dollars.
When Ronald Reagan took office it was less than a trillion dollars.
If you were to divide the national debt up equally, it would come to more than $50,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States.
So the share of the national debt for an average family of four would be about $200,000.
When the government borrows and spends money that it does not have, that increases the amount of dollars in circulation and it causes GDP to go up.
That is one of the reasons why our politicians like to borrow and spend money that we do not have. It makes the economic statistics look good. They can point to those economic statistics as a reason to send them back for another term.
This is a major flaw in our system. Most of our politicians do not care about how they are raping future generations financially. Most of them just care about getting elected again.
If you will notice carefully, neither Mitt Romney nor Barack Obama are promising to balance the budget any time soon. Like so many politicians in the past, they promise to do it “eventually”, but “eventually” never arrives.
According to a recent article in the Washington Times, Mitt Romney declared during a recent campaign appearance that he has no plans to balance the federal budget in his first year….
“My job is to get America back on track to have a balanced budget. Now I’m not going to cut $1 trillion in the first year”
Why would he say that?
Why wouldn’t he want to balance the budget?
He went on to explain that….
“The reason,” he explained, “is taking a trillion dollars out of a $15 trillion economy would cause our economy to shrink [and] would put a lot of people out of work.”
Romney is right about this. Taking a trillion dollars out of a 15 trillion dollar economy would plunge us into an economic nightmare.
And that would make him look bad.
Of course if Obama wins the election we can just expect more of the same from him as well.
For example, just check out what White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew had to say about balancing the budget recently….
“The time for austerity is not today,” Lew told NBC News “Meet the Press.” “If we were to put in austerity measures right now, it would take the economy in the wrong way.”
Why is the time for austerity not today?
It is because the 2012 election is coming up and Obama wants the economic statistics to look good.
But can you blame our politicians for being cowardly?
Just look at what is happening in Greece. After several years of austerity they are in the midst of a full-blown economic depression and they still have not balanced their budget.
Do we want to end up like Greece?
Most Americans do not realize this, but the U.S. already has more government debt per capita than Greece, Portugal, Italy, Ireland or Spain.
So why haven’t we collapsed yet?
Well, because we continue to borrow larger and larger amounts of money.
It took from the founding of America until 1995 for the federal government to accumulate 5 trillion dollars of debt.
Under Obama, we have accumulated more than 5 trillion dollars of new debt in just over 3 years.
Amazingly, Obama has added more to the national debt than George W. Bush did during his entire 8 year term.
And let there be no mistake – George W. Bush was a wild spender. A fiscal conservative he most certainly was not.
But Barack Obama does not seem troubled by any of this.
Barack Obama is prancing about the countryside touting his great “economic plan”, but the truth is that the only reason the economy has not totally collapsed is because he is stealing 150 million dollars an hour from our children and our grandchildren.
Sadly, most Americans don’t understand that the current level of prosperity that we are enjoying is a grand illusion. Most Americans still expect things to return to the way that they used to be, and they are increasingly becoming angry that it is taking so long to get back there.
In fact, a whole host of recent surveys have shown that Americans are very dissatisfied with the direction the economy is heading in….
Four recent surveys have found that on average only 28% of Americans are satisfied with the condition of the country, while 70% are dissatisfied. Three recent surveys have found that between 69% and 83% of Americans believe that the country is still in recession (it isn’t), and only half believe that a recovery is under way.
What they don’t realize is that if we were not massively ripping off our kids and our grandkids things would be much, much worse.
Thomas Jefferson understood that government borrowing is essentially the same as theft from future generations.
He once made the following statement….
And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.
What we are doing to our children and our grandchildren is so immoral that it is hard to put into words.
We are running up trillions upon trillions of dollars of debt in their name just so that our lives can be more comfortable right now.
How could we be so selfish?
The sad thing is that even with all of this reckless spending our economy is still not in great shape.
In fact, the middle class continues to shrink at an alarming rate. The following are just a few statistics from a recent article I did about this phenomenon….
-Today, approximately 48 percent of all Americans are currently either considered to be “low income” or are living in poverty.
-Back in 1960, social welfare benefits made up approximately 10 percent of all salaries and wages. In the year 2000, social welfare benefits made up approximately 21 percent of all salaries and wages. Today, social welfare benefits make up approximately 35 percent of all salaries and wages.
-The United States actually has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.
-Every year now, we see millions of Americans fall out of the middle class. In 2010, 2.6 million more Americansdescended into poverty. That was the largest increase that we have seen since the U.S. government began keeping statistics on this back in 1959.
-At this point, approximately 22 percent of all American children are living in poverty.
-When Barack Obama took office, there were 32 million Americans on food stamps. Now, there are more than 46 million Americans on food stamps.
So how much worse would things be if a trillion dollars of federal spending was suddenly removed from the economy?
Are you starting to get the picture?
As bad as things are right now, they are about to get a whole lot worse.
So why can’t we just keep on borrowing and spending forever?
Well, just like Greece found out, debt always catches up with you eventually.
During fiscal 2011, the U.S. government spent over 454 billion dollars just on interest on the national debt.
But just like we are seeing in Europe, if confidence in U.S. government debt starts to disappear the U.S. government could end up facing much higher interest rates to borrow money.
If the average rate on U.S. government debt only rose to 7 percent (in the past it has actually been much higher than that), then the U.S. government would be spending about 1.1 trillion dollars a year just on interest on the national debt.
During fiscal year 2011, the U.S. government spent 3.7 trillion dollars but it only brought in about 2.4 trillion dollars.
So if we were spending 1.1 trillion dollars just on interest, that would be close to half of all the revenue the federal government brings in.
Right now, the Federal Reserve is manipulating the system in a desperate attempt to keep interest rates down. During 2011, the Federal Reserve bought up approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department.
But most Americans have no idea how fragile our financial system is.
Most Americans just assume that we will always be the greatest economy on the planet and that there is nothing to be worried about.
Sadly, one way or another this debt bubble is going to burst and then our debt-fueled false prosperity is going to disappear.
Most Americans are not going to understand what is happening and they are going to go absolutely nuts.

Bill, he left out one thing 40 cent of every dollar the gov. spends is borrowed.
rushless, you're suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
Michael- Yeah we are sooooooooo scared! LOL
Feels good to be a conservative huh? Just as long as you pretend the 8 long years of Bush never happened.
And Romoney, etch-a-sketch, king of the flip flops, is servilely Conservative! And what new grand plans do he have?
Why, cutting tax's and more deregulation's, and it's work so well hasn't it? LMAO!!!!~~~e~~~~~~
Are you suggesting the last 3 1/2 years have be magical???....lol
I wonder how many years have to go by before you & your ilk accept Obummers failures as his own.....hmmm
Last time I checked, Bush wasn't on the ticket in '12......Obummer vs Romney....'member?
Laugh your a$$ off all you want Humm. My guess is that you're on the receiving end of those taxes, not on the giving. To your federally-mandated economic guardians, the joke that Obama is and always has been isn't the least bit funny.
Mr. Obama sure is touting the Mexican vote by allowing about $ 4,200,000,000 annually be given to Illegal Aliens (Immigrants) as income tax returns because they claimed the Additional Child Tax Credit for children, NOT theirs, living in Mexico.
Yepper, this is only ONE example that Mr. Obama is NOT the United States economic guardian.
Wait a minute....how much American taxpayers dollars did he give to the G-8 for bailing out the EuROPIIgs and how much is he going to give Afghanistan through 2024 ? Must be a Tinker Bell somewhere with golden dust.
ldo, And you would know that because . . . ? I really should ask, and you assume that because . . .?
At least Bush Jr wasn't trying to sell America out like your Zebra, remember he is half and half, and as George Jefferson would say, he's a zebra.
IDO - You've been tuned into the "Glen Beck" show for too long.... Now run home and put on your little tin-foil hat.
I see where you anti-Obama folks are coming from now. You don't need facts, you can just make up figures. Do you really think Romney is going to protect the nation's wealth? Him and his buddies have theirs in off-shore accounts. Illegals have been getting income tax returns? With whose Social Security numbers, they can never collect SS as illegals? They are giving more to the system and not really taking much out. Your arguments carry no water. Are you against his economic policies (check out the Market Watch analysis - the Obama administration has the slowest Fed spending in decades)? Maybe it's his foreign relations policies (avoiding wars - not starting new ones like the Republicans want to do). Perhaps his healthcare policies (Romney care revisited). What is clear is that the main argument that you have with Obama is the color of his skin. And I thought the Republicans were serving "tea" not "the kool-aid."
You can always find the tea bags, they smell, have no brains, and are very ugly (like a plucked chicken), but especially have no brains.
Romney is really desperate to be President of the United States of America, because like his wife say's it's their turn. The chant of the 1% we are in-titled because who we are-FY.
I will tell you this now, that pathological liar (Romney) will never be President of this Country because he is a CREEP! Creep! Unimportant and usless for todays needs, he is for making mega bucks and putting people out of work, not the role of a President our President. Romney is a Creep! bottom line a Creep.
To Bill Crane ... thank you so much for putting it out there in plain English. Has anyone checked the educational level and degrees of poverty and ignorance in both those states. My mother was from Arkansas ... I know southern Rednecks very, very, very well. Oh, to outsiders they would never admit what the real problem they have with this president is, but if you think they don't talk freely of it amongst themselves, you are willfully ignorant.
It is times likes these that I'm glad I'm in my 7th decade. I lived through the best (and sometimes the worst) of America. And I won't be around for the fall of the American Empire. No empire is conquered from without but falls of its own excesses and its population's ignorance and sloth.
Conservative, I think not micheal1969.
The GOP hasn't been conservative since before God Reagan took office. Now the GOP is run by the FECE's and are incapable of anything other then an abortion bill or perhaps a tax cut for the richest of the rich.
The question is when the GOP loses in the general will they continue down the Fundamental Evangelical Christian Extremist path toward their version of sharia law or will the sane folks return the party to true conservatism (sorry not you Ron Paul) that is truly American, ie. life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
@littleoldlady3; howdy Ma'am, been around a little longer than you and really agree with you. The more I read the hatred here and see all the love of violence being taught through the TV machine, video games, etc., the more sadness I feel for the folks comming up. Unless people wake up and start caring, cooperating and sharing, this surely will become what is called a third world nation. Peace & Love!
rushless -- Well they are old, white, and often fat, that's for sure. In another article, there was a photo of Romney speaking to a crowd. Someone posted that there wasn't anyone "brown" in the crowd. I looked at the photo for a long time and couldn't believe it, but there wasn't even anyone with a tan in the photo.
But anyone who would vote for a person who could take 100 billion out of a company, and not leave a penny for the pension plan (or worse have the government pick up the tab), or even try to help the workers transition into new jobs is not presidential material. IMO, this type of "business activity" should be illegal, because there is no place for this in our capitalist system let alone as the resume for President and Commander in Chief and leader of the free world.
Private equity companies can make plenty of profit without being so ruthless as to leave a woman in her 60s without health care. There is just no glossing it over, no excuse, and it deserves to be condemned as an example of what free enterprise should NOT be. As Adam Smith wrote, capitalism only works with ethics and charity. Hopefully our great nation can find it's way back to making money from making things instead of making money from money, and enjoying real economic growth for all.
littleoldlady3 -- There are a lot of women out there like you who would not want to face the War on Women in this country now, with attacks on their reproductive rights, equal pay, access to affordable health care and on and on. Hopefully the young women out there will pick up the torch, because they now have to fight the fight yet again -- It's very sad how our country is going backward in so many ways thanks to Tea Party extremism.
Ido? Still waiting for that proof.... yeah I thought so. love to spout crap, but wither away when you have to provide proof (other than Limburger said....).
I'm from Arkansas and the above poster is correct. The reason Wolf got 40% is because the Dems in our state (at least a large amount of them), still can't bring themselves to vote for a black. I personally know of several yellow dog democrats who told me they just couldn't make themselves vote for Obama. people who never voted for a rep in their entire life and that includes voting for Faubus (remember the Central Crisis?)
Royce, I guess you might be considered a baboon, except the red part of your body isn't your ass.... it would be your NECK....
Humbird, no one is accusing the GOP of intelligence or truthfulness. Most of the educated types are CEOs and they lie quite often. And the country ones are dumb enough to believe them.
littleoldlady: "Has anyone checked the educational level and degrees of poverty and ignorance in both those states"
According to the SERI test results of late last year (which specifically tests math and science), KY scored 17th in the nation and is categorized as "average". But really the national average was 2.82 and KY scored 3.00 so technically above average.
As for poverty, that is a problem mostly associated with the deep parts of the appalachian mountains. Life there is hard. Many still mine coal to make a living. I would like to see you try and live somewhere like that.
As someone who worked with illegals as a young teenager, all of you who keep harping on the fact that illegals don't have social security cards, WAKE UP. They do have SSN cards, heck most of em have multiple ss cards. THAT is how they file income tax returns, THAT is how they get money claiming all their little children in mexico as dependants, THAT is how they get this money that they are not entitled to. Ever hear of identity theft, that is where your ss number goes. Those of you who harp on "the poor abused illegal", probably haven't ever met one in your life. You probably don't even live in a state that has to pay for all the illegals medical care
Since the thread I originally posted this was closed....I am copying it here:

For those that want to praise the Republican party, please tell me why 89 out of the top 100 poorest counties in the USA are in Republican run states?
Two democratic states: New Mexico 4 counties & Wisconsin 1 county are on the list.
The other 6 counties come from 5 states that are mixed party governed.
Look it up on the wiki if you don't believe me.
Republicans don't make jobs and the jobs they do make don't pay a living wage according to the top 100 poorest counties in the USA.
Where as, President Obama's record is over 20 months of straight job growth. Ordered the taking out of two known terrorist leaders. Has the highest rate of deportations than many previous presidents. Has saved more than one company with the auto bailout. (Including suppliers for the auto companies and some surrounding businesses that are now patronized by the many people hired by the auto companies) If allowed to let the Obamacare/Affordable Care Act take full effect it would same money for most citizens and save money for Medicare and Medicaid. Not to mention Obamacare would make preventative care more affordable which would cut down on a lot of health care expenses of people who could be diagnosed and cured or treated before it become life threatening or just really really expensive to cure. He's helped people to refinance their homes so they could keep them. He's trying to keep the interest down on student loans. (filibustered by the naysayers...again) He's ended one war and has an agreement to the end of the other one. He's leveled out the deficit spending so it's not growing as much. The deficit would go down more if his jobs act had been approved. We would have more people working, paying taxes and off government assistance. (naysayers again made that a no go). I could go on and on. But I feel that is enough of a reason to re-elect this President.
littleoldlady is a very smart Lady. I fit in the same age group 3/4 century. We have been around long enough to know if you younger generation don't study your history you are doomed to fail. Look at the adminstration in power when the economy was good. We all have to work together to make our country better. None of us resent the very rich as long as their wealth is made honestly. But check into the 400 wealthiest people in the US and you will find somewhere along the way to success they stepped on the backs of the poor on their way to the top. When 400 people in the US has more money than 150 million; something is wrong. On the last census there were about 300 million citizens in the US. The money made in this country has to be put back into the economy. I have come to the conclusion we have some to the dumbest voters in the entire world. They don't try to get facts you just listen to the talking heads on TV and 30 sec sound bits. The supreme court will choose another president this year as they did in 2000. This time it will be because of MONEY from just 400 people. Corporations are NOT people as 5 supreme court justices decided.
ldo you're a lying SOB. If lying is all you got you have nothing. Enjoy being a loser.
I guess anecdotally this might be interesting but otherwise it's really "non-news". I doubt anyone here imagines either of these states would go to Obama in the general election.
So why report this? At times like these I'm really inclined to agree with the liberal media bias, though I know most media outlets these days are owned by big corporations and the more conservatives in the administration the better it is for Big Business.
But this article presents like simple scare tactics to get the liberals out to the polls as there is no real value in this information. It will not affect the outcome of the general election.
Wow Rushless.... you're really taking Obozo's distract and obfuscate, class envy BS, and mudslinging to heart. You're a typical Liberal, devoid of facts, and blathering with no cogent thoughts what-so-ever. The Liar-in-Chief wouldn't know a good economic decision if it came up and bit him on the a$$, and you obviously haven't had an independent thought in your whole life.
FedUp-that's the pot calling the kettle white. Kentucky elected Rand Paul as a U.S. Senator. That should exclude them from any discussion of political saavy.
Honeslty, you democrats need to give up the 'Republicans are uneducated, stupid and ignorant' line. I'm a conservative independent, and I work with one democrat and the rest republicans. I also work in IT where we all need a four year degree minimum to have our jobs.
@wives fan,
The 4.2 billion in tax returns is a fact, it was reported by the IRS. Go ahead and google it. As far as where the children were, I don't think that is a fact as I did research the illegal tax returns and never saw that.
I'm highly against the billions sent to Mexico so freely. Hell, the money they send down to Mexico is Mexico's 2nd greatest income, only out down by their oil income. We need to tax the hell out of money made in America and sent out of the country. (And yes, that goes for corporations outsourcing work over seas.).
As far as the 'hatred' of the republicans, I read a lot more hate coming from the left on these forums than I do the right. But I guess it makes the left feel superior to talk down to people that don't agree with them.
I think the venom I see spat at our President is sad - but the Glen Beck-ers/hillbillies aren't even aware of how they embarrass themselves with their racist conspiracy theories, so they continue. We truly are dumbing down as a nation.
@Alex
I don't think most democrats think that all republicans are dumb...maybe a few but then it seems most republicans think that all democrats don't work at all so neither is fair. What I think IS fair to say is that in these particular states (and we can add a few other southern states to that list), most of the poorer, rural constituents DO have less education and tend to vote against themselves. They also tend to be more inclined to be racist...I know, my family is from West Virginia and Kentucky. I have many family members who would NEVER vote for a republican but can not bring themselves to vote for a black man. They honest to God believe he is inferior or out to put the black man ahead of the white. It is 100% racism! I hear the conversations...it is not just a talking point!
Also, I would comment that I actually think there are good compromises that could be made between conservatives and progressives that would help people as well as move this economy, but unfortunately MOST republicans absolutely will not work with the dems. And the biggest problem with the republicans (imo) is the annoying habit they have of getting into office and then forgetting about why they were elected by passing all kinds of bs culture war crap. That is what is terrifying-the fact that so many on the right want to legislate their version of morality and that does not pass with me...and I am a person of faith but I want no part of their conservative, fundamentalist insistance on everyone living as THEY see fit. Equal rights under the law and keep your religious morality in your church where it belongs!
Losing to incarcerated felons and nobody's.... yet the media continues to make excuses as if Obama has some kind of chance in November. I suppose they know the ignorance and obedience of their audience (sheep).
I can't wait to see the "unexpected" headlines and excuses the day after Obama suffers the worst defeat in U.S. history... maybe they can just re-use the same excuses they used when Dems were handed the largest party-flip since WWII in 2010.
Then why bother noting that he got his ass kicked by non-votes?
Does that mean that obama's race has "duly weighed on his prospects" in areas where black, poor rural voters have voted for him? If he lost votes that he had last time, no matter how many or few, then maybe there is something to it. Maybe minimalizing the impact now may lessen the shock this Nov.
This illustrates how deep rooted the dissatisfaction with Obama has become in this country despite the rosy picture the mainstream media continues to portray with their propaganda and smoke screens.
Toejam, go back in your hole. I thought we might have ONE good exchange of point of views without your usual bile.
Not sure how you are predicting the future when all polls say they are pretty even right now and the real campaign hasn't even begun. Care to comment on the fact more people voted for Obama in KY than Romney even if a lot voted for the other Dem? Gee guess not.
The Thinker, I'm not predicting a result either way for November because a lot can happen between now and then. However, I'm in Arkansas and there are a LOT of poor rural blacks AND whites. I would assume KY is the same. Do you honestly think they even vote in primaries? Not that they do a lot more in November, but from conversations around my town, more vote in the big election than do primaries.
Kirigami get off msnbc and watch Washington Journal (c-span) it was mentioned on that program. Also for all who are so against saving the Bush tax cuts. The first four listed by the CBO including raising the taxes on married couples, lowering the deduction on married couples and lowering the child deduction from $1500 to $500. Are these the 1% you want to tax the h--l out of.
Old Dude, it's already a third world country for about 1/4 of the population, especially children.
Best news all day!!! Could not happen to a more deserving Liar in Chief.
pjam,
Obama actually does have a chance in November because it's quite impossible to lose to a numbskull like Romney, who never had to work a day in his life. Daddy did and paid for everything for him.
And people who remain loyal to Obama are not "sheep", as you so aptly put. We simply remember what good he has done for this country and know that there is potential for more. We know for sure that Romney has NOTHING planned for us, except what he has for his fellow "1%"-ers, aka tax cuts and further de-regulations. He probably won't make Big Banks pay back the loan they owe us for their fraudulent mistakes.
So go ahead and vote for Romney. It's not like HE actually has a chance in November. The media like to think that he does, if only to the feed the discord among bipartisans. It's all media hype, like the FB IPO, and like how most people knew FB will tank, everyone with half a brain knows that Obama has a real fighting chance and will most likely win his second term.
IMO, I wouldn't put so much emphasis on some Primaries held in random States. NH, CA, FL, and TX will be states to watch. Now, if Obama has a bad DEM turn out in CA....
Alex...
I could not agree with you more...I've read poorly spelled posts on this site more times than I can count, twaddling on about how stupid Republican voters are...and if they aren't stupid, they're bigots.
That's the liberal Democrat voter's best defense...of course they never do take an honest look at actual voting results that clearly show there are barrels full of poorly educated or simply uninvolved voters who pull the exact same levers they do when inside a voting booth.
Wives fan
Not!
Obama's policies mean less jobs for both West Virginia (coal and marcellus shale gas) and Texas (oil and gas).
You are being played by the media.
Reminds me of the Reporter in Egypt as Mubarak fell. A reporter was in the crowd trying to find someone who would praise Obama for his efforts in Egypt. What they found was he was seen as useless or unimportant in the cause. The news media still reported that Mubarak resigning was partly from Obama's efforts.
How many of you know these things about Kentucky?
1) There are more registered democrats than republicans by a significant margin
2) While the mountain areas are very poor, the Bluegrass region (North Central) is called the Golden Triangle because of all the money there in Bourbon(95% of all Bourbon is made in about 6 counties), race horses, Cattle (most cattle farms east of the Mississippi), and Tobacco. Oil and Coal still play a large role too, but the war on them has put tens of thousands of people in the poorest counties in the mountains out of work.
3) Lexington KY ranks tenth among US cities in college education rate, with 39.5% of residents having at least a bachelor's degree. With an abundance of government and technology jobs, Lexington has one of the nation's most stable economies, Lexington was named the 4th best city for "Businesses and Careers" in 2011 by Forbes Magazine, the 5th best city for Young Professionals in 2008 and 6th Best Value Cities 2011 by Kiplinger
4) Louisville is the 31st largest city in the country according to the U.S. Census, of Louisville's population over 25, 21.3% (the national average is 24%) hold a bachelor's degree or higher which is pretty good for a large city
5) Despite being one of the larger states in the country, the population is just a little over 4 million due to the harsh terrain and lack of major cities (Lexington 300K Metro 500K and Louisville 570K Metro 1.27 million). Almost half of all Kentukians live in or around these two cities
6) Lexington just elected the first gay mayor in its history, but the most interesting fact about that is that it was never brought up during the race, or after.
7) Kentucky tends to have democrats as mayors, governors, and control either the senate or the house. The current Governor is a democrat, and House are democrat controlled by a good margin. Only in national races does Kentucky go red.
PJam you know you have to read the entire article right?
You know what the words no, substantive, and importance mean right? When you put all of those words together they means these states are not indicative of anything. Stop grasping for straws.
Folks I live in KY and let me explain something to those of you who think this article actually means anything, we had about a 10% turn out in the state overall, KY has a closed primary (I think that is what it is called) meaning you have to vote Dem or Repub, whichever you are registered as; many people in KY are registered as Dems, even tough they are actually very conservative and often vote Repub in the general election. We got two choices as Dems, Obama or Uncommitted, Obama is very unpopular in KY as most of this state is White, poor and uneducated and has a wide, deep streak of racism running though the state, there are other reasons he is unpopular, but skin color is a big one; accuse me of playing the race card if you wish, but I live here and see it everyday in many many ways that have nothing to do with Obama. BTW I am white and at 52yrs old have seen racism in all it forms here in KY and part of Obama being unpopular is his skin color, like it or not, it is simple fact.
So for you Repubs, don't read too much into this as it really means almost nothing.
ScottyWi is quite the liar. is it easier to be a bigot and a racist if you convince yourself most others are too?
How pathetic.
Fed Up-2683606, ScoMata1964, you're each suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
ScoMata1964 - please explain how I am lying, I am stating an observed opinion; do even a small amount of research and you will find that blacks are discriminated against in numerous ways in the state of KY; blacks make up about 8% of the states population, but make up about 35-40% of the prison population, blacks are unemployed in much higher numbers, they are basically stuck in certain sections of the areas they live in (like the West End of Lousiville), etc etc. This state in general has an underlying racism problem IMO.
You call me a liar and imply I am a racist in your comment, I can assure you your opinion of me rates a zero on my give a @!$%# meter, but my African-American inlaws say thank you for uncovering my hidden racism. Have a nice day!
wives fan - During the last election there was a record turnout of blacks that voted. Over 95% of them voted for obama. Despite the fact that blacks were voting by race rather than substance, if the other voting blocs (whites, females, hispanics, poor, etc) hadn't voted for him he would never have been elected. Since then, there have been a lot of people who will now vote based on better knowledge of what the incumbent has, or hasn't, done.
As for voting in primaries, they are used mainly for predicting the "mood" of the voters. In cases where the politician fares well they keep plugging along. In some cases it is a wake-up call and the politicians change strategies. As for the poor voting in primaries, you probably have a better idea than I. I don't vote in them. I'm certainly not rich but I'm not poor either - just poorer than I care to be. Even more so since obama took over.
So what MSNBC? Don't rural people measure up to the standards of the intellectual Democrat elite?
"Rural" is NOT synonymous with "stupid" and they show far more honesty and common sense than delusional liberals! Obama showed his contempt for mid-America four years ago when he said, "And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
People haven't forgotten that, and they are not going to be fooled by his insulting "folksy down-home" acts.
I think you might have misunderstood the comment. I did not read it in any way as indicating that rural was synonymous with stupid. I agree that many rural folk have honesty and common sense. Alas for you, many of them are also liberals!
I don't think MSNBC was saying that the Appalachian rural folks were stupid either. It's just that so many of them are politically, socially, and culturally backward. Perhaps we should introduce them to the 21st Century.
Bill - Do you think that citizens should be required to take a test of their understanding of politics and history, and the logical faculties to make intelligent choices, before being able to vote?
As one of those "rural" voters, let me shed some light on this. Although, Kentucky is a predominately registered "democrat" state they vote republican. In being registered democrat in this "closed" primary, you can only vote for your party. So, even if you did not in 2008 or will not vote for Barack Obama in 2012 you will only have him as a choice on your democratic ballot or "uncommitted". No surprise the democrats that vote republican chose "uncommitted".
As for rural folks being stupid, well most are not stupid here, but they certainly are uninformed and ignorant. They complain about the government "hand outs" and want to end them while receiving food stamps, disability, HUD, and medicaid. So I do not expect a lot from most around here.
So they aren't stupid just backward. I'm sure that they feel so much better now that you have passed judgement on the Rural American. Lets see you survive without us Backward Rural Folk that supply your necessitates of life. Examples.
Where does your food come from? Where does your Heating oil come from? Where does your Natural Gas come from? Where is your Electricity generated?
Sorry, but when you put white, rural and poor all together it really does equate with lesser ability to understand what they are voting for or against. I think that if you do some research you will find that most of those folks aren't educated enough to read a lot of what the ballots say.
slodon, I do not know where you live but I, obviously, live in KY. I do not think it is passing judgement to give you an honest opinion or assessment of the people that live around me. No, it is not everyone but it is a real problem here. I am not passing judgement on anyone. I am a very proud Kentuckian, we work hard and people help people here. It is a friendly place to live just not everyone is very informed about some issues.
jlw - why did you refer only to "white"?
Because the article specifically state white, rural poor.
jlw - but what about you? Do you feel that all rural poor "aren't educated enough to read a lot of what the ballots say," or just the white ones?
I'm from a rural poor area. I would have to agree that most rural poor are really dumb.
Ok Ok...this was mean and not true for everyone. But I have noticed a trend that all the smart kids are leaving my rural area...and never coming back. Leaving all the retards and rednecks by me. This is fine...I get along with them. But the talent and opportunities have left the rural areas of our nation. Only the dumb ones stay.
Well said, forest.
Kentucky has 16 of the poorest counties on the top 100 poorest counties in the USA per capita. Texas is the only state that beats them with 17 of the poorest counties.
89 out of the top 100 are Republican states. Kentucky is a Republican state and has been as long as I remember. I've lived here my whole life. The problem with people in Kentucky and other southern states...they take pride in not knowing and believing lies when it comes from their church leaders and political party leaders. I have heard so many lies over this from people I know, it's "sickening". If they would just take the time to research before spouting off things...they would realize President Obama is helping them. Yes, he could do better. He just needs a Senate and Congress that are will to work on the economy more than worrying about taking away women and gays rights. It would be nice if they would put people to work saving lives by making sure we have enough police, firemen, teachers, construction workers to repair unsafe roads and bridges, etc. But they just want to show they can tell a woman or gay how to live their social and medical lives instead.
Deborah S. you are a smart person. Please continue to try to educate the voter.
this is a very interesting comment. It says two things to me:
1) And I know this because I live in a small town in the middle of the country- you are afraid you may not understand everything playing out in the media on this subject. And you are right. You don't understand that nothing is at play here except money and power. And it's just a matter of which side is willing to throw you a bigger bone, because either way you lose.
2) You hold fast to what makes you feel comfortable, religion, family values, community and trust the party that parrots those things back to you. Do you ever really look at what your party does, rather than what it says? Do you really think those people in Washington, cheating on their spouses, stealing money, taking bribes from big business, lying and using every one are on your side just because they say, "God, Family Values, Community"?
The upshot is, the liberals don't care about those things anymore than the conservatives. They can't be bothered with your or my petty values while they are trying to rule the world. The difference is the liberals might throw you a bone or two, some child care, some health care, some wage thresholds, while the conservatives what to chew you up and spit you out and leave you bleeding in the dust.
But make no mistake. What you think or believe means nothing to either party. You are a necessary evil on their road to total power and control. One scenario allows you some personal freedom. The other forces you to lock-step to a specific god, a specific job, a specific way of life determined by what maximizes profit to Corporate America.
And just so you'll understand from where I speak, I've lived in New York, I've lived in Los Angeles and I now live in a small town in Middle America. I like my small town. I like the people in it but I get the "small town syndrome". People tell me all the time, "we're just small town folks. We don't understand these things". People are the same everywhere. They go about their lives.
My small town is a microcosm of the country. We have people who are afraid; that never lift their faces up to view the sky, and we have people who understand everything that is happening in the world today. In the end "small town syndrome" is about you and your feeling no one understands. No one in Washington cares. It isn't because you're in a small town. They don't care about people in big cities either. They just don't care.
Deborah S, where did you get your statistics? I am assuming you meant counties in your statement "89 out of the top 100 are Republican states." I also assume you mean by republican states that they are controlled by republicans. Based on your logic check the states (not counties) that are controlled by republicans vs those controlled by democrats and see which are better off financially.
There is a demonstrated intelligence in posts from Kentucky on this thread but it must be considered that Kentucky elected Rand Paul as the U.S. Senator replacing Jim Bunning(great pitcher but a whacko at the end of his career). This troubling trend negates serious thought about Kentucky's ability to understand politics and voting.
@Deborah S,
Wow, that is exactly what I've thought about the liberals. Thanks for explaining it so well! The whole Zimmerman thing with Sharpton, JJ, Holder and Obama shows that. Along with F&F, Solyndra, etc.
Look in the mirror please.
I would put the IQs of the rural people far above the !Qs of the inner cities that are run by liberal democrats.
This exactly what DEBORAH was talking about, ignorant has become part people lifestyle at that part of country(Kentucky,Mississippi, etc)
Funny how Democrats chastise Americas rural and poor as being "stupid" and "culturally backward".... while unabashedly using American tax money to import Mexico's rural and poor in exchange for their votes.
For Democrats American rural and poor = "stupid and backwards"
For Democrats foreign rural and poor criminals = "hardworking and nice"
I guess they only feel a need to be nice to the people they are buying, not the people they are robbing.
Funny. The only person I know that imports Mexicans is the big farmer down the road. The one with all the "Don't tread on me", "Fire Pelosi" and "NObama" stickers on his truck. But I'm sure a bunch of Mexicans showing up in an area primarily settled by Scandinavians is just a coincidence and they all have green cards.
Not to mention the old local workers he had who he laid off "to save costs" and subsequently never re-hired.
Kirigami and Bill Crane you don't have to say it. Everybody between the Appalachians and the Rockies knows the liberal elite thinks we are stupid. You come to my state on vacation, stay on a floating sandbar for two weeks and proceed to tell us ad nauseum how to run a state that three of yours would fit inside of.
Forest: Hear! Hear! it's the same here in AZ - the ones screaming the loudest about "illegals" and their support for SB1070 are the ones hiring illegals to do their yardwork, home remodeling, pool cleaning, etc. They know the workers are illegal but they don't bother to check, so they can claim ignorance. I saw news stories about farmers in Alabama who could not harvest their crops without illegals, because they claimed they could not afford to pay Americans.
Kannin...
If 5 of the easiest "government" questions you could come up with were posted inside voting booths with a score of 4 out of 5 correct answers needed for a vote to count, I'd guess more than 10% to 15% of votes would not get counted.
Without any tutorial classes being provided by the SEIU..."What is the name of the Vice President of the United States ?"...and "Name one of the two United States Senators who represent the state you live in ?" would probably wipe out 10% of votes cast in this nation...and probably more than that.
Deborah -
If only you would research things. Obama HASN’T helped Kentuckians or most Americans. KY’s unemployment rate when Obama took office was 8.7%, now 3 ½ years later its at 8.3%, with less than 19,000 new jobs and less than 1% job growth in over 3 years. Compare that to the population increase of 1.4% in Kentucky over the past 3 years.
Let’s look at the stimulus that went to KY - $6.8 Billion. And yet job creation grew less than the overall population in KY. KY didn’t fair as well as other states with similar sizes in getting stimulus either: Louisiana is similar in size but received over $200 million more than KY. Oregon got the same amount but has 500,000 less residents and SC got almost $2 Billion more than KY.
Look at gas prices, the national average was $1.84 when Obama was inaugurated and are now currently $3.67, a 200% increase in less than 4 years and that’s with a $.015 drop the last two months.
The only bright spot for Kentuckians over the past 3 years is that housing prices haven’t fluctuated as bad as the majority of states in our country, although home values are still down since 2009.
Deborah – I voted for Obama in 2008 because I believed he would change things and get us out of the wars. I didn’t expect 5% unemployment but I did think the economy would start growing consistently at 2-3% by now. Not only do we have 50% more national debt, 700,000 less jobs than in 2009, the war in Afghanistan will continue till at least 2014 and we also have a large troop contingency in Iraq still. Another 4 years of this will break our backs, no thank you.
I don't dislike the man but it astonishes me that you can give Obama credit for "helping" people when virtually every piece of statistical data shows the opposite.
ITriple...
It must be that "hope" thing the president campaigned on four years back ! His supports close their eyes tightly and keep thinking to themselves "I think he can, I think he can...".
Almost half of all kentuckians live in or around the two major cities, the number of people that live in the mountains is in the tens of thousands, hardly statistically relevant compared to the other 4 million.
You people saying Kentuckians are not smart don't seem to know that Lexington is one of the top ten most educated populations in the country in the entire country, and KY has more registered democrats than republicans.
Your ignorance is amazing, expecialy since you are trying to act as if you are informed by saying these things, which are BS.
I am a Hoosier and even I am willing to admit this because it is true, and if you did know anything about this part of the country, you would know how hard it is for a Hoosier to say nice things about KY with UK down there.
JohnSixty, I suppose you voting for Obama's change makes you a smart person? He can keep his change, I haven't seen any, just empty promises and bald faced lies. Yet you democrats will vote for him just because he's half black, it doesn't matter that he hasn't done a thing to help this country. Just insult us with his kiss ass mentality.
And your comments, Royce, would make you a racist.
Too bad in a real election biased NBC cant skew the results in favor of Obama.
Take for example the latest NBC/WSJ poll, which conveniently interviewed 44% Dems and only 36% Republicans.
. The new poll: 44D/36R/16I. The spread between Democrats and Republicans has increased by four points since April according to NBC pollsters — and yet O’s lead over Romney has shrunk by two points. Hmmmm.
And what were you saying about really big biased FRox News, Bob in Virginnie? And when are you backwards republicans in Virginia going to give women control of their vaginas, Bob?
They never answer that.
Well said yonyae and I am from Virginia
They do have control over their bodies, they are just expected to pay for their choices, as most people do.
How does making someone pay for something they want to do or have equate to taking away control of their body? That is the most ignorant "claim" I think I have ever heard. No one is taking away their "control", they can still do whatever they want, they just have to pay for it.
Come on TM, you don't expect liberals to understand 'responsibility' !! To have to pay for your actions?? UNHEARD OF!!!
Vaginal probe-you try to appear thoughtful and wise. Your views reveal your real mental powers and lack of reason. Your blatant cheerleading for Bob McDuck shows you to be a possible appointee or political hack of his imaginary VP administration. He's a booring fake Tea Bagger and so are his supporters.
Bob, Bob, Bob,
It's a good thing the majority of Virginians don't think like you do. I suppose you'll tell us next that Fox News has a liberal bias now, seeing as their most recent poll shows Obama ahead by 7 points, lol.
Even here in the Commonwealth, Obama is ahead 51% to 44%. Of course you'll tell me "Oh no, that's not accurate, Roanoke College has Romney in the lead!" But you will, of course, forget to mention that Roanoke College is a Lutheran Evangelical institution, and is about as biased as they get. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me to hear they'd left NOVA, Tidewater, Charlottesville and Richmond out of the polling all together.
The simple fact is that the sole means by which we elect presidents is the Electoral College, and on the electoral map, President Obama holds a commanding lead. If you look at all the individual state polls, even from the likes of Rasmussen (another right-wing pollster) it looks a little something like this;
In the categories of "solid R, likely R & leans R" we have a total of 181 electoral votes.
In the categories of "solid D, likely D & leans D" we have a total of 255 electoral votes.
Romney needs to find 89 more electoral votes of the remaining 102 that are still up for grabs. That's pretty damn tall order, especially considering that President Obama is leading in every swing state except Missouri.
That 255 for Obama doesn't even include Virginia, which he will likely win. No incumbent candidate has ever lost Virginia after having won the state in the preceding election and like I said, the 51% lead is enough, so let's add 13 more electoral votes. That gives him a total of 268, just 2 more needed to win. Most pollsters are now putting Oregon in the "leans D" category now, so there we have it, Obama wins the election with 275 votes. The only states left are NC, OH, FL & WI, and even if Romney wins all 4, he still falls short of 270, coming in with 263. Of course, it's not likely Romney will win any of those 4, because, as we've already covered, Obama is leading in all 4. The most likely result, and what most pollsters are showing is Romney: 191, Obama: 347.
Bob,
It is at this time that I would once again like to invite you to come to my home in Charlottesville to watch the election results so that I may see the look on your face when the networks call Virginia for Obama once again and eventually, the entire election!
Bob,
One other thing, you're whining about NBC/WSJ interviewing 44% Democrats, 36% Republicans and 16% Independents? The thing about that is, that's pretty much the political demographic makeup of our country. They don't call up known Republicans and known Democrats when they run their polls, they call random Americans, and ask them at the end of the poll what they consider themselves to be.
You know that Fox News poll I cited? The one that has Obama leading Romney by 7 points? Guess what? They talked to 42% Democrats, 34% Republicans, 20% Independents and 3% that refused to answer the question.
Why is that?
Because 42-44% of Americans are Democrats, 34-36% of Americans are Republicans and 16-20% of Americans are unaffiliated.
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say you were probably not your high school's valedictorian.
Oh, I forgot to mention, in the numbers I listed 2 posts ago, I went ahead and gave Missouri to Romney. Sorry about that, my bad.

Bill....
Judging by the "important" news I see on this MSN website, I'd say more American "voters" (ahem) know more about the 'Jersey Shore'...are more interested in keeping up with 'Kardashians'...and are better informed on candidates for 'American Idol' than there are in gaining any knowledge regarding the American economy or in our system of government.
And even more, is the pity.
We've already hocked our grandchildrens future to the Chinese. Keep voting democrat our great grandchildren won't have any future at all. Paying off our debt it's absurd, someone has to pay the piper he's been playing a long time.
Tony,
You are so right it is a sad state that this country is in everyone walks around like deers caught in the headlights. My thinking is that they better wake-up because one day very soon they will wake-up and find that they don't like what they see. As you mentioned the are more interested in TV than anything else, so than it is very easy for the media to tell them who to vote for like in 2008 and the will because the are sheep.
Are Virginia Democrats racist like the Democrats in Kentucky, Arkansas, and West Virginia?
So now is the DNC is saying that their own party is racist simply if they vote for someone other than Obama?
An entire article about a President, who basically wants to shut down the coal industry, and "racist" makes the list and not support for coal?
That's because their states derive the most from Federal Tax dollars, LOL. Logical, huh?
This doesn't much matter because Obama doesn't need these red states, anyway.
"This doesn't much matter"
The liberal view of reality.
Do you still wonder why you were surprised at the results of the 2010 midterms when the rest of the nation knew the outcome well in advance?
It was a great liberal program to help the rural poor when FDR proposed it and LBJ proposed it. The only difference now is the urban poor don't want to share the feds money. The urban poor think their uncles wollet is all theirs. Well I would rather support the poor hardworking native born latino down the block here in South Texas.
Most people don't bother showing up for midterm elections.
And it is true, Kentucky and Arkansas are solid red states, Obama doesn't need their electoral votes. Hell, Obama doesn't even need most of the swing states, he's already got Virginia and Pennsylvania in his column.
That's a pretty damn tall order, especially considering that President Obama is leading in every swing state except Missouri, hell, let's just go ahead and give MO to Romney, so he needs now to win 79 of the remaining 92 electoral votes. Obama needs 15.
That 255 for Obama doesn't even include Virginia, which he will likely win. No incumbent candidate has ever lost Virginia after having won the state in the preceding election and, the 51% lead he holds here is enough, so let's add 13 more electoral votes. That gives him a total of 268, just 2 more needed to win. Most pollsters are now putting Oregon in the "leans D" category, so there we have it, Obama wins the election with 275 votes. The only states left are NC, OH, FL & WI, and even if Romney wins all 4, he still falls short of 270, coming in with 263.
Reference: 270towin.com-Poll Version, Rasmussen Reports, Washington Post, Fox News
Oh, and have you fellas seen the most recent Fox News national poll? They have Obama ahead of Romney 46% to 39%!!! 7 freakin points! Fox News!
I wouldnt vote for Obama for nothing..hes no leader and ever one knows it...if they dont they dont need to be voting. Romney will win the election big time anyway in November.
Joe66-please go out and speak on behalf of Mitt. There are undecided voters who want to hear your ideas.
Hilarious.
Well all of you who oppose extending the Bush tax cuts because they are supposed to be for the 1%. Those cuts which will expire will raise taxes on every married couple. Gays you still want to be married? Your tax rate will go up your deduction will go down and your dependent child deduction will be cut from $1500 to $500. So are every married couple in the US in the 1%.
Joe
you need an etch-a- sketch pad and spell check and a total re-education in
basic grammar, your tea bagger education is showing through. Your first
sentence is hilarious and totally contradictory. What you said is you will vote
for Obama, 2 negatives become a positive.
It wasn't comptempt. It was true then and it's true now.
Obama still managed to get almost 2,000 more votes than Romney in Kentucky.
And what does it say about Romney that he can't even get 70% of the primary vote (in Arkansas, Kentucky, or elsewhere) when all of his competitors have dropped out of the race.
70% is still a higher percentage than Obama got and Obama had ZERO competition!
Obama couldn't get 70% against an out of state convicted felon in W. Va. (59% - 41%)
Only the truly far left fringe of the dem party will end up voting for this guy. (all the socialists and occupy crowd)
You RWNJ's will cling to anything. Ky and Ark? You gotta be kidding. You can't avoid the inevitable. Obama's gonna take Mitten's like Grant took Richmond. LOL
By the way, V-Bob, since you're checking polls, Obama leads Mitty by 7 pts in the FOX poll. Is that poll also biased toward Obama?
Obama/Biden 2012
Bob, he did not have "zero" competition, he had "uncommitted". The registered democrats here are really republicans and thus voted for "uncommitted". They will not vote for Obama even in a closed primary.
Say what???? "The registered Democrats here are really republicans". Where the hell did that come from and from what source did you get it? Wow, talk about "spin". I'm a Democrat but I voted for uncommited because Obama does not represent what I think a Democrat is. He's a hollow man. When he first came along I thought well, maybe this guy will be ok. No. And it's not a racial or conservative thing. I voted for Shirley Chisholm and Walter Mondale even. Ever think maybe people just don't like what he's doing?? Imagine that.
And if you add in the "crossover Democrats"??? Obama will lose his ass here.
GT, I never mentioned anything about polls, so I really don't know where that is coming from. Polls can be biased anyway you want to make them. It doesn't matter who took it. I wonder why they call them "opinion polls"?
Angie, I never heard of or have seen or listened to any campaign speeches by "uncommitted". I guess "uncommitted" is against Obamacare? Does "uncommitted" use a teleprompter? Democrats are republicans????
Well they are not counting the senators and cpngressmen thet don't kow which way they will vote either. There was a senator who stated he wasn't sure if he would be voting for Obama this year. Heis from one of the states that could go either way.
What I have been seeing is the democrats will not do anything to actually help the country with policies UNLESS they get higher taxes from the rich. I have seen the republicans make efforts to help but those are being blocked because they don't have the taxes on the rich. What I have yet yo see is any information from the democrats on tax reforms. If you look at history we have NEVER spent our way out of a recession (which is just another word for DEPRESSION) After the great depression this country tried to spend its way out of it. The market went up and down and was doing good. Job groth was there but kinds stagnent. It took the war to get us out. In the recession in the 60's JFK LOWERED tax rates and reformed tax codes (getting rid of loopholes) we were out and doing better in less than 2 years. In the 80's double dip recession with gas lines and rationing Reagan did what JFK did lowered tax rates and reformed tax codes. The reforms were what raised taxes not the rates. If you think it was bad this time you weren't here when that hit. Obama promised the unemployment rate would not go above 8% it went to 10.something%. Look back and you would see unemployment was above 12% when Reagan took office. A republican President working with a democratic congress and we were out and doing alot better in about 2 years. Clinton even did he same thing in the 90's. Why not use what has been done in the past.
REFORM THE TAX CODES and lower the rates. I know It works. It brings in more revenue. The budget committy can't come up with figures because it takes the ways and means committy to figure out the taxes that will be hit. Remember everybody was touting raise taxes on big oil well lowering the taxes and closing hte loophole will do just that. What about GE not paying any taxes because they used all those LOOPHOLES.
That since nobody else is running. And we have to travel to do anything with high gas prices they will wait for the general election. Now in my state on May 29th there will be a higher turnout because in my congressional district there are 6 democrats,3 republicans, 1 independent and one libertarian running for a new congressional seat. So the democrats will vote on whose cousin the candidate is or who has the best barbeque cook and the repubs will vote between three who actually put up statements of their political stance on ballotpedia.
I'd really like for somebody to patent a method to derive electricity from the liberal power of self-delusion. Our energy problems will be solved overnight, and maybe, just maybe, Obama's existence will somehow end up in a net gain.
For that, I'll gladly pay taxes at an increased rate.
are you trying to Romney us?
No realist that is how liberals are seen in the rural areas here. Jeff Foxworthy said it best 2/3 of the US isn't on the cutting edge and doesn't want to be. that is how even democrats here see the people of the east and west coasts.
As Kentucky goes, so goes the nation...no, wait, as Arkansas goes, so goes the nation. There.
Even the great Aloha state has given up on him, except for some diehards.
You don't call a emergency room physician who resusitates a dying patient a failure; President Obama resusitated a dying capitalist system and now the patient is in recovery. A lot different than the conservatives who would have pulled the plug and waited to see if the dying patient would recover on his own.
American must decide if they want to loose their pensions again, after all Under President Obama Pensions have come back Big, after loosing 50% of their pension under President Bush and the Republicans
Do you even realise what you are trying to imply? Boy you not only drink the Koolaid, sounds like you help make the Kool Aid!
The ould be on Bawney Frank, and Chrissy Doody and a bunch more dems for passing laws to allow people that couldn't afford them houses. This was not done by the Repubs, but the liberal left and their "entitlement"
In my day we had to earn it, under the dems, those that work for it have to hand it over to those who don't. Yea your Obama thinks he's Robin Hood and he is trying to rob from the rich to give to those who won't work.
Royce - I realize you being from Arizona, and from your comments, that you're not very well educated, but you could still do a better job getting your facts straight, or at least come up with something better than what a 5th grader might say.....
Obama/Biden 2012
Actually, I'm all for a redistribution of wealth. Most (but not all) rich people who didn't inherit their wealth got that way by being thieves and liars. Those who did inherit their wealth usually have no concept of working for a living, I mean really working for a living. I wanted Obama to be much more progressive, perhaps at least center-left. But he believes he should represent all Americans, even the bigots that claim he is not an American and hate him because he isn't white.
So Bill Gates,Warren Buffett,Steve Jobs,Barack Obama,Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton all got their money by lying and thievery? Is that what you are saying Bill Crane?
Did you read my post? I said "Most (but not all)." It's in the first line of my post, second sentence.
Well if he won't say it I will.
The patient will have a cardiac arrest if the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire and every married couple in America finds its taxes almost doubling.
Bill
So you are saying that ONLY the Democrats worked for their money?
Bii Crane move to Switzerland. Your stupid logic fits right in their socialist programs.
You don't call a emergency room physician who resusitates a dying patient a failure; President Obama resusitated a dying capitalist system and now the patient is in recovery. A lot different than the conservatives who would have pulled the plug and waited to see if the dying patient would recover on his own.
dls - Great analogy
Obama/Biden 2012
True, but all Obummer did was crank up the life support system, like you, legally brain dead.
And, to continue the analogy, an "emergency room physician" who stupidly gives a patient a drug that makes his condition far worse is absolutely a failure!
I am sick of people in the south being referred to as stupid rednecks. I will refer all of you to a recent Newsweek article in which they rated the best 1000 highschools in the country. Texas, by far led the pack. I believe you had to go down to the 50s to find a high school in New York, Illinois (where I live)or CA. Those of you "elites" who take such pleasure in calling people with whom you disagree ignorant are truely the ignorant ones.
Please fact check your information Janet
The smart ones move away to urban centers where they can earn a decent living and explore the big wide world of big business, art and culture instead of whittling or going to monster truck rallies.
And yet Democrats and Liberals DESPERATLY seek to import the most uneducated and "backwards" people from even further south(Mexico) at huge cost to the nation they are supposed to be serving.
She is right we the people of Texas had four HS in the list before the first from Ca. Including the Science high of Mercedes in an area that is a majority hispanic and serves four counties.

You're each suspended for a day for violating #1 of the Code of Honor.
This election will be a bigger landslide than when Johnson Beat Goldwater in 64
Royce - And the incumbent will do it again! The president is going to kick a new ass-hole in Mitten's....
And when ol Joe from Arizona finishes, you will have to admit you voted for some muslim from Kenya.
Royce - That's definitely a RWNJ statement.
Obama/Biden 2012
Remember November 2010? it was just the beginning. America has waited 2 years to finish the job this fall.
As per usual my post above was met with, I'm sure your on the dole, and not paying tax's! LOL
And the last 3-1/2 years have been so great? Well they are a vast improvement from the bleeding of 750k jobs a month, and we have recovered quite a bit of money we lost on our stocks and investments!
The point is now and come November, that Romoney has no new plans, as I said more tax cut's for the wealthy, and more deregulation's! Been there done that, been trickled on enough!
Why are Republicans only fiscally responsible when there is a Democrat in the WH?
Name the last GOP President that balanced the budget?
Didn't grow government, and add to the debt? crickets~~~~~~~~~~~
The last republican to balance the budget was Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956-57.
Ronald Reagan oversaw the biggest percentage increase in the Federal Debt of any president before or since in the period 1983-86.
Well if you as a liberal want the Bush tax cuts to expire I hope you are married with children. Because your tax rate will go up, your deduction will go down and that $1500 child deduction will become $500. I don't have kids to raise anymore. And I'm single so I will LMAO as you fork out the money.
Obi Wan Obummer your slip is showing.
Odumbo is a Carter/Dinkins cloning error.
Are the seas receding yet? Odumbo walk across San Fransisco bay and let me know.
@leftsux
No..just your brain kind of receding abit. I can see bits of it falling out ...eeeewwww
leftsux-move to Arizona. Sheriff Joe needs a deputy dipstick-you're ideal.
Lets see now Odumbo has alienated Catholics, Cubans, the military, evangelicals, coal and oil states, the financial industry. Blacks make up 14 % of the population. Not enough illegal aliens, communists, professors, school teachers and assorted blood suckers to reelect Barack Hussein Abomination.
leftsux-quit trying to Romney us. The Republicans have lost the woman vote, Hispanics, Afro-Americans, Senior Citizens, teachers, firefighters, police, public union workers, union workers and educated middle class voters.
Try adding that up and include the youth vote in President Obama's column.
Realist I am a woman but I am also a Catholic and a resident of one of those states in which liberals think everybody is stupid and inbred and say it constantly so guess what I will vote against the attitude of liberals. I will vote for the first amendment. I will vote against any party in which the candidates supporters expect us to treat him like a god not a man. BTW hispanics will be conflicted since most of them are Catholic too.
I'm Catholic and still supporting President Obama. I believe you don't know what you're talking about. The nuns love President Obama.
Just one of many articles. You need to do some research and get it straight. The nuns, true followers of Jesus' teachings, support social justice and equality for all, not just a few rich folks.
Research "nuns support health-care" and "nuns support President Obama" You'll find it's the Vatican, Bishops, Priest, etc that are having issues with Obama; however, a lot of us Catholics have had enough with the dictatorship policies from the Vatican. It's okay for the Priest to molest little boys and still have pensions, but God help the nuns for wanting social justice for all, and not just the rich.
I wonder how old you are 10? LOL
Wow way to shoot my post down! LMAO at you!
Come Nov. an acute schizophrenic and disastrous moment in American history will come to a merciful end and a far left professor and community organizer named Barack Hussein Obama will putt putt off into the sunset in a rusty Chevy Volt with a tattered Solyndra solar panel tied to the roof.
@leftsux
Do you even know what an acute schizophrenic is?? Dude, stop smoking the ganja..your brain is fried.
definitely not ganja, probably rubbing alcohol or antifreeze.
And where will you be Leftsux?? If Mitt wins, I'm sure he'll be in your town to show you how to do more with less. Like he did when he was a little kid living in the governor's masion in Minn with his dad. As for me, well I being working like I always have been, counting my pennies come payday cause Mitt will be sure that I don't get any more than I deserve. After all corporations are people too and they need cost of living raises to keep their 1st, 2nd and 3rd homes above the mortgage mess. My shack's paid for so I don't have that worry, thus I don't need to make more money. Ahhh, can't wait for the good old days to rise again.
Jesus, Allah, Jehovah save us from Professors and Preachers. Amen.
Preach on. Save us from leftsux.
@leftsux
... God please save us from this idiot's rant ...hahahah
school teachers and assorted blood suckers to reelect Barack Hussein Abomination.
Leftsux - You obviously never listened to those blood sucking teachers! LOL "What an ignorant @!$%# you are"
Lordy, Lordy how the ignorant rightwingers come out at night (or out from under a rock, or woodwork), but like cockroaches they don't like the light.
Oh you mean like the teacher suspended when a student recorded to youtube her rant saying he would be arrested for disrespect to her god Obama. Played real good yesterday.
All the rhetoric and posturing is pointless. Many fear the ballot box will be stolen...to "protect" us from ourselves. Others, as myself, fear is that our government has borrowed against our ability to make, to earn and to pay to the point of economic collapse. Still many more fear that when the collapse happens, it will come to a bloody fight with those we can no long give bribes, handouts and giveaways to.
So many of you think, the government can just print more money and by gosh that is just what they are doing, making the money in your wallet or bank worth mush less than five years age.
Laugh at my words. Call me silly little names. Say all the foolishness you want, but you are unwilling to hear anything but your own shallow self absorbed voices.
wilderness - What's your solution?
I guess it starts somewhere, around if you want to change the world the place to start is with yourself. GT-2021701 I have read your posts, it is humorous that you have the wit to even type the word solution. I just do not see you as part of any solution.
Wilderness, your post is unfortunately more accurate than you know. As we inflate our way out of our credit dilemma we have quadrupled our numbers in poverty. College grads are stacking up like cordwood. We are witnessing the end of the middle class. We now have the very wealthy and the extremely poor in this Country. All good things must come to an end.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
— Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)
