By the way, I was raised a Mormon but left the church when I left home (like the next day). Mormons do NOT respect women. In the late 70's, after the feminist movement, they finally decided that they should let women give the prayers in church services. They still can't hold the priesthood. Also, people think that Mormons are not Christians but that is not true,. They are. Well, I do browse all the channels. I like to get all sides and evaluate the points of view. Yesterday, while listening to MSNBC and FOX News, I came upon the FOX News show called "The Five." The on-going discussion involved comedians and their obsession with making fun of the republican candidates. The short guy (looks like a mole) just could not understand why comedians don't parody Obama all that much, while they continually pick on Romney, Santorum, Cain, Palin, Bachmann, Perry, and Paul. What struck me as rather sad was the way this "mole" looking commentator came across. He seemed like a little boy who gets picked on all the time and would like someone to come to his aid -- he really came across as a lost little boy. I thought that for a moment, he would burst out into tears. Anyway, their conclusion was that all these comedians are left wing radicals.

Their short sided conclusion doesn't take into account that comedians will take advantage of anything stupid done by politicians. Jimmy Carter was a prime target of comedians, so was Ronald Ragen, and the biggest target of comedians was "Slick Willie" aka, Bill Clinton. But, let's focus on now. The reason why comedians are so enamored with the republican politicians is because they're funnier than a three ring circus. These characters are causing many of the comedy writers to be laid off. Comedians don't need anyone to write jokes. They simply listen to the next set of idiotic comments coming out of the mouths of the Republican elite and they have more material than any writer could possibly come up with. Let's see: Paul Revere rode off to warn the British.... Russia will soon get nuclear weapons.....I'm not a lobbyist..... I took a dead fetus home to teach the rest of my kids.... Family is sacred, but I can fool around while my wife dies of cancer.... Obamacare is doom-n-gloom, but my health care bill was different.... A woman should be allowed to choose to stay at home or to work outside the home, but if you're a poor woman, you need to get out of the house and get a job..... I respect women and love my wife, and four or five other women who work for me..... We want smaller Government, but don't mind passing over 300 laws restricting a woman's ability to control her own body..... I’m pro choice, er no, I’m pro life, er…… etc., etc., etc.

The republican primary race has been better than anything Ringling Brothers/Barnum Bailey could possibly have come up with. Comedians have enough material to last several decades.

Don't care who you are or what political persuasion, joking about, encouraging, or even hinting at the killing of a president, any president, is wrong wrong and wrong. Nothing to defend and ALL AMERICANS should be able to agree on that.

Either way Obama or Romney we are screwed for four more years. I was really hoping that a New actual Potential Candidate would show up with the Republicans. But they don't have one I guess. Stay at home moms in Mrs Romney social circle and for other rich women may be viewed as working in the home, yet that is not how other stay at home moms are viewed if they are poor.

Didn't Mr Romney indicate that those poor moms receiving public assistance should be required to go to work outside the home- even if it costs the state/govt more money to provide daycare/childcare services for these poor women's children? - Perhaps even more than the poor moms could earn to boot.

It seems that the poor or the not rich women who are stay at home moms are not viewed as working in the home then by Romney, doesn't it? If you are a poor stay at home mom you are not working in the home rather the poor mom is just lazy and do not want to work. In otherwords, the working at home mom caring for her children title is dependent on her financial circumstances it seems.

Anyhoo, it is doubtful that Mrs R was busy doing the house work, cleaning floors, cooking meals, making beds, cleaning the bathrooms and scrubbing the toilets, caring for the sick relatives/parents/children and all the various jobs that women (stay at home moms) who cannot afford to pay for housekeepers, cooks , gardners, drivers, nannies, nurses etc... - you know the full compliment of household staff for their various abodes, do every day.

His stock which he cashed for 60k equates to 377k in 2010 dollars. I personally don't know a single person who had 60k in 1970 plus the cash from the wedding plus whatever savings they entered with and myself and my friends were relatively affluent. As available cash that is much more than most of our parents had.

Upon Graduation George Romney loaned them the money to buy a house with payback upon resale. Meaning they were given a house worth 42k which they resold later for 90k making a 48k profit using none of their own money while living rent free for seven years.

If her husband is elected he has pledged to work against funding of Planned Parenthood who provide 800,000 breast cancer screenings a year the same screening that led to the diagnosis of Mrs Romney's cancer. On top of that he wants to repeal health coverage for another 15-20 million women. Yeah I really feel terrible for the Romney's. She probably had it tough during her semester abroad in Grenoble.

As to corruption so far they have been extremely clean. The principle of State Nullification has been constantly defeated since the 1820s and was a prime reason for the Civil War. Reaganomics as crafted by the Heritage Foundation tilts the economic playing field so that wealth can be redistributed to the smallest amount of interests to reinvest. Supposedly these investments will expand an economy so that growth occurs for all. This has never actually happened at any time in Western economic history. This was accomplished by halving top bracket taxation and making profit taking on the market a capital gain at 15%. This encourages short term profit taking and bubble creation it discourages long term capital investments in industry and research which create jobs. Reagan made things infinitely worse by doubling the size of government and tripling the National Debt beginning the debt spiral that was only checked under Clinton. Under the genius of Supply Side two three banking systems crashed, the S&L industry, Commercial Banking and finally retail banking. Along with that three separate market crashes and changes in the lending laws that ended Roosevelt Era financial restraints top bracket wealth exploded along with an explosion of debt for 90% of the nation. They also cycled in 5 recessions in 20 years of governance which triples the average recession spacing. The proper response to economic disaster is to open the government checkbook it has worked since the pharaoh's built pyramids or the Romans built roads. The problem with recovery this time is that instead of the traditional debt level we have always carried Obama was left with horrendous debt and a shaky credit rating. His response has been correct and we are in far better shape than the other economies who responded with draconian downsizing. His debt would be about half and the recovery further on if the House and Senate had not done everything humanly possible to make the recovery fail.

Gas and oil production are primarily a function of the market but the sitting president i the one who is generally either blamed or given credit for anything to do with the fossil fuel industries.The permitting process has been reduced from 180 days to 60 in order to expediting the process. Opening more land has no immediate effect it is years before the land is touched the object needs to be alternative energy and he has made strides in an all of the above approach. The rest of the world is looking 50 years down the road when energy needs have doubled and a scarcity of supply means high prices while the right screams drill baby drill concerned as always with their on selfish needs and no thought to the greater need. His policies are not enough but he has the 1st comprehensive energy policy in US history. A return to GOP policies returns us to complete OPEC dependence with a second class future ahead.

As to the pipeline it will be carrying a grade of crude which will almost certainly be exported affecting our oil usage not one jot. The current route through Nebraska runs almost entirely through the regions aquifer which if contaminated could devastate farm production and cost hundreds of billions in damage in order to expedite the creation of about 20,000 jobs of which 13,000 go away when construction ends. The Chamber of Commerce propaganda machine claimed 250,000 which is total BS. TransCanada Corp who has the most to gain is firm and their hired consultants have arrived at the figure of 20,000 which they consider the high end figure. The pipeline is already started in Oklahoma and the Gulf and TransCanada just proposed a new route. Again a prudent approach instead of caving into another oil interest while creating the same number of jobs using a safer route seems to me like a reasoned response.

The Bush Crash occurred on September 29th 2008 3 1/2 months before Obamas oath of office immediately causing a single day loss of 1.2 trillion dollars. Virtually every IRA and retirement plan took a 35 to 40% loss triggering the greatest economic catastrophe since the Great Depression. The US Collapse triggered world market failures and sent an edgy world financial community into full panic mode. It was not an Obama State of the Union in which he heralded the triumph of his Ownership Society where every American could be a home buyer. Nor did Obama's Treasury Secretary or Fed Chairman speak to the safety of ARMs and associated exotic loan vehicles. The only thing Bush should get credit for is having the balls to get TARP through before the entire system imploded and he screwed that up by not building in oversight on the use of the funds. As to employment figures when Bush took office it stood at 3.9% he handed off at 7.8% and rising not one month in eight years was unemployment equal to when he took office. In 96 months in office the Bush economy was in recession for 22 he has the worst net job creation record in US recorded history with 1,300,000 total created with a private sector loss of 675,000 jobs and an increase of 1,700,000 government jobs. Unemployment peaked in October 2009 as republicans fought Obamas stimulus plan until final passage in Feb 2009 it took 3 months of infighting to begin the roll out and within a year jobs were being created every month including new manufacturing jobs for the first time in 10 years. We have had consistent job growth every month since. Obamas job creation has come entirely in the private sector with a net loss of 375,000 public sector jobs. Under Obama we have had 26 consecutive months of private sector job growth. Not bad for a Marxist Socialist. And we are not on the cusp of anything they are averaging 180,000 jobs per month a figure Bush lost 2.7 million while creating just over 2 million in 8 years this is the worst 8 year record in history.

But you as an intelligent person are of course aware of the fact that the Bush administration instituted far more government programs that added to the deficit than the Obama administration. Bush took a surplus, cut revenues with a tax give away to the most wealthy, passed a perscription drug benefit, without paying for it, that was nothing more or less than a subsidy to the pharmaceutical industry, waged two wars off the books, and had the most wasteful and incompetent administration in history.

Obama, on the other hand, inherited the worse economy since the 1930s, with the reduced tax revenue that comes with that. In that scenario, the mess of 8 years if incompetent governance and the economic disaster that Bush left, the Obama administration will be cursed with high deficit spending, but it is all demonstrably, and already accepted by the people who understand these things, to be the affect of the economy at the time Obama took office. The economy that Bush tax cuts to the high income, hedge fund, speculating, gamblers, created.

Virtually none of this debt is due to anything Obama did, and when you actually think about it (if you're capable of thought), it could not be, because the Republican Senators blocks pretty much everything Obama wanted to do.

Acceptance is the first step to getting better. It is time that the right wing accept that they have created this mess. Then, please, right wing, get out of the fast lane so the rest of us can make some progress. How the hell would she know what the average American woman thinks about the economy, etc. when the only women she probably talks to are the ones that "do lunch" and go to tennis lessons? I wish I could have stayed one with my kids, but I couldn't afford that luxury...like the majority of working mothers. She has a flipping elevator for the cars and doesn't have to worry about how she's going to get the stroller and the baby on trains or buses. My husband and i don't have a lot of money, and I was a stay at home mom for 18 years, and home-schooled my kids. A huge financial sacrifice for sure! i wouldn't change a thing.... While everyone else was building and buying homes 22 years ago, I was home with the kids (hardest job EVER!), and we were still renting. You don't have to have a lot of money to live on one income, you just have to sacrifice and figure out what's the most important.... kids or a mortgage. We eventually did buy a home, but years after "everyone else". I didn't wallow in self pity. it was my choice and I was very happy (still am..). I figured if I was going to give birth to them, I was going to raise them. Not everyone has that "luxury", which I don't think is a luxury but a decision. People! Stop complaining about how much money the Romney's have and how Anne lives as a wife/mother. Big damn deal! Are ya jealous or something?
