Which candidate gives Republicans the best chance to defeat President Barack Obama in November?

Brian Snyder / Reuters
Supporters of President Barack Obama rally March 5 in Youngstown, Ohio.
One can’t infer too much from Tuesday’s exit poll data since Tuesday's electorate wasn’t the one which will show up November. But if you were a Republican, and assuming that victory in November were your highest priority, would you have rather have a candidate (such as Rick Santorum) who did not win a plurality of college-educated voters in Ohio, who did not win a plurality of voters in suburban counties, who did not win working women, and who did not win moderates?
Related: Romney best able to beat Obama, but still not loved, exit polls say
Or would you rather have one (like Mitt Romney) who did not carry rural counties, who did not win a plurality of evangelical Christians, who didn’t do well among voters for whom sharing the same religious faith as their candidate is a top priority, and who did not win the most conservative voters in Tennessee and Georgia?
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney talks about his Super Tuesday primary wins and his pro-growth plan for beating President Obama in the November election.
The November electorate will be much bigger and -- by definition -- much closer to the nation’s political center than the one we saw on Tuesday, and Romney won in places the Republicans need to win: in affluent suburbia, for example. In Hamilton County, Ohio, which includes Cincinnati and its suburbs, Romney defeated Santorum by 20 percentage points.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that Romney will carry Hamilton County in November if he’s the GOP nominee; Obama carried it in the 2008 general election with 53 percent -- his national average in the popular vote. George W. Bush had carried it in 2004 with 52 percent and in 2000 with 54 percent. But Romney’s victory in Hamilton County on Tuesday would at least seem to give the GOP a better chance to carry that county against Obama.
NBC's Tom Brokaw looks ahead to a time when the country turns its attention to the GOP convention.
In affluent suburban Williamson County, Tenn., near Nashville, Romney defeated Santorum by four points. Fifty-two percent of people in Williamson County have a college degree, according to the U.S. Census, compared to 23 percent for Tennessee as a whole. Romney won the kind of highly educated people who tend to live in urban and suburban America and not in rural towns: people with post-graduate education much preferred Romney to his rivals in Ohio.
Romney also showed more appeal to working women voters on Tuesday -- in Ohio, he won 43 percent of working women, while Santorum netted 35 percent.
And in Ohio, Romney also beat Santorum among single women: 45 percent to 28 percent for Santorum. Surely one of the urgent tasks for the Republicans in November is to be competitive among female voters: the GOP can’t afford to cede women to the Democrats as they did in 2008, when Obama won female voters by 13 points over McCain.
Another finding that might be encouraging to Republicans who want to appeal to the broader November electorate is that Romney did better than Santorum among people who did not rate religion as an especially significant marker: among voters who said it was not important that a candidate shares their religious beliefs, Romney won 43 percent in Ohio, to Santorum’s 31 percent.
None of this is to take away from Santorum’s achievement: he won 91 of 95 counties in Tennessee and he won 69 of 88 counties in Ohio. He ran nine points ahead of Romney in Tennessee. But in both states, Santorum mostly won the less populated rural counties while Romney did better in cities and suburban counties.
Santorum beat Romney by 28 points among Ohio Republicans who called themselves “very conservative” on social issues.
But Romney, who once supported abortion rights and was elected governor of one of the most liberal states in the nation, won by 18 points among voters who called themselves moderate or liberal on social issues.
One of Romney’s liabilities is that social conservatives cannot bring themselves to trust him; they don’t see him as genuinely conservative -- despite his claim that he is “severely conservative” and that on same-sex marriage, for instance, he “kept Massachusetts from becoming the Las Vegas of same sex marriage,” as he said in his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington last month.
Even if Romney chose an impeccably conservative running mate, that might not win their trust. If Romney is the Republican nominee, we don't know if some conservatives will forsake Romney as some of them abandoned McCain in 2008. Romney may be no more appealing to staunch conservatives than was McCain in 2008.
But in the fall campaign Romney would have a great advantage that McCain didn't have when he faced Obama in 2008. Voters– especially small-government conservatives -- can now see Obama's beliefs in action: the $830 billion stimulus, the failed Solyndra grant, the transformation of the nation’s health care system, and increases in taxes on upper-income people (included in the 2010 health care bill) are all now a reality. In 2008 they were only a possibility.

Landslide Willard challenged my math ability when he talked about tax cuts and spending reductions. The CBO reported his tax cuts amounted to $4 Trillion over 10 years. He outlined $ 1/2 Trillion in spending cuts, including savings garnered by throwing SS to the States, over 10 years. I don't how you can cut taxes by $4 Trillion, cut spending by $1/2 Trillion and reduce the deficit.
If you want details on his spending cuts, you have to learn to lipread, because they ain't written down anywhere.
Don't forget to mention that 3 Trillion of that 4 Trillion will be going to the top 1% of earners, meanwhile ALL of the spending cuts will come out of programs for the middle class. Welcome to the lunacy that is the republican party. None of their budget plans make any sense, but somehow 40% of the country gets giddy with excitement everytime they talk.
No, no, no... you can't use traditional math when talking to Republicans. "Dat is jus liberal brainwashin." Remember, "Republicans dont need none dat edumacation stuff. College is just liberal indocturnation camps dat turn you into obama."
Besides, higher education is just for "snobs."
Now if you start quoting the Bible or talking in terms of NASCAR, then you will get their attention. Try this... Mitt's plan is like Jesus Christ driving in a NASCAR, yee-haa, and paying $4 at every lap. But each lap he also quotes Leviticus at one of them homosexuals, and takes $2 worth of contraceptives from women. After lap 100, Jesus has paid $400 but taken $200... that puts him in debt. So how will he reduce his debt, while also stopping those homosexuals and slutty women?
Now they might understand.
Romney is Obama is Gingrich is Santorum is Bush is Clinton.
Want to know how stupified, ignorant, and brainwashed the idiot American public is? Just check the last six Presidents. Dwell on meaningless sound bites, argue Left vs Right as if there is a difference, fall in line and worship Obama, and above all FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER. No wonder the 1% consider, and treat you like cattle.
IndieParty holy sh!t LMFAO!!!!! so true....
1."Mr. Flip Flop Romnut, explain to everybody how placing your money into shelters overseas so you can get away with paying less then 14 percent in annual taxes is helping Americans?"
2."Mr. Flip Flop Romnut, do you send the bulk of your money overseas because you value the trade of other countries over America's, or did you send your money over there so you didn't have to pay as much in taxes as everybody else does?"
3."Mr. Flip Flop Romnut, you like to say that you pay what you owe in taxes and not a dollar more. What if the vast majority of America thinks you should pay a lot more? Do you agree with the majority of American people and pay more taxes or tell them you don't care and don't want their votes anyways?"
4. "Mr. Flip Flop Romnut, do you think all Americans should pay less then 14 percent of their annual incomes to taxes, like you do, even though that would plunge this great nation into third-world status almost immediately?
5. "Mr. Flip Flop Romnut only the rich could take advantage of loopholes you have used to insure you pay less in taxes then almost all Americans who pay taxes. Should that be how America's tax code works? Should rich people, like yourself, pay smaller percent of your income to taxes when people like our military, cops, social workers, firefighters have to pay a great deal more?
it will not matter who wins the republican nomination....
AMERICA WILL UNITE BEHIND HIM just like they did Reagan in 1980
@old fat guy, Good luck with that, Obama is whooping all of the repubs in the polls right now, And they're only going to fall further and further behind as the economy keeps getting better.
It's already been pointed out multiple times that Romney will have to face "Romneycare" in the general election, and the FACT that Romney is on tape from several sources saying he envisioned this at a federal level.
With that said, folks should understand a few odd things about Romney as due to the Mormon culture. For example, Chris Matthews commented on how supporters at Romney's rallies seem like androids. And of course everyone is appalled that Romney failed to show leadership, again, in repudiating Rush Limbaugh's three-day rampage (not just two words, but three days of lies including ignorance about how "the pill" works).
In the Mormon religion, members are encouraged to conform, or what is called being "cookie cutter." Dissent or questioning of church leaders or doctrine or interpretation of scriptures is frowned upon, and common with most religions. The only activism allowed is per preaching from the pulpit (effectively block voting), going back to opposing ERA (the Equal Rights Amendment for women) to more recent efforts in California regarding Prop. 8. Someone growing up in this environment will not have the fortitude to speak out against someone like Rush Limbaugh, or even more difficult for Ann Romney to speak her own mind as a woman.
Add to this the many connections of Bain Capital and Romney's campaign funds from Wall Street and directors of various companies. Clear Channel is a great example. One should question having a POTUS with so much conflict of interest, whether his religion or financial connections and influence thereof.
Look at how much Romney has aged just in the primary. OMG, how this guy expects to make through four years of the most demanding job in the world, forgetaboutit!
In the meantime, the Teapublicans most definitely have waged a war on women -- They all voted against the Lilly Ledbetter fair pay for women bill just a couple of years ago!
I just love seeing the comments on this liberal run media outlet and the liberal ideas behind the brain dead ones who support Obama , what a bunch of dumbas... es they are , with Obama its like the blind leading the blind or the ignorant bs'er leading the ignorant. If you elect this guy again I hope you like gas so high our country will shut down then you will have to eat your neighbors.
Republicans have, at their own hands of leadership, become, worthless. Unhonorable and unamerican everyone. Sooooo tired of the embarrassement they've brought to our country. Flat sickening.
both parties are corporately sponsored...oh well...plain bob 2012...
Rock you mean democrats have been tratiors to this country , they have caused the mess we are in by brain washing dumb people who cant think for themselves but believe everything their told by a bunch of those who will buy votes with food stamps and welfare , because some people are just worthless lazy, no accounts. Nothing makes me madder than to see someone use EBT , standing there dressed to the T and go out and get in a nearly new car.
It's not too late for another Republican candidate to get in the race. I hear Captain Francesco Schettino might be available.
Hilarious picture of liberals heading this article masquerading as republicans.
Obama will be your president until 2016. None of the GOPer wannabes have the abilities to lead this country out of the mess the GOP got us into. And it all goes back to that GOP diety, Ronald Reagan and his warped ideas of supply side economics, which says - Just give the rich all that they want, and they will take care of the poor by providing them with starvation wages, and get us all off of the government teat, and force us into accepting whatever they want to give. And you wingnuts still don't understand what OCCUPY is all about? It figures.
"Hilarious picture of liberals heading this article masquerading as republicans."
Yep, pretty doggone funny. Almost as funny as that lady in Florida who said "I don't have to pay for my mortgage, my gas, or my 'lectric once Obama gets elected." during the 2008 campaign. (Sorry, but most of the videos of this little ol lady have been scrubbed by the White House media room.) Yep, the number of families on food stamps, drawing unemployment benefits, and have had or soon to have their home repossessed certainly looks good to the Liberals.
Yep, just continue to stand in that line if Mr. Obama gets re-elected. Wait a minute, Mr. Obama said: "I deserve to be re-elected." and that is what Mr. Biden will reiterate when he goes on the campaign trail for Mr. Obama even though he will NOT mention Mr. Obama's FAILED Domestic and International policies.
And the Obamamites continue their rhetoric.
And most Americans want to get rid of Social Security, and Medicare, so they can slash taxes on the rich. DREAM ON!!!
It would be interesting to see statistics on the number of welfare and food stamp recipients who are active voters. My bet (and, no, I can't back it up) is that the number is relatively small. It is a silly right-wing myth that people vote the Democratic ticket to get welfare from that vote other than a hope that they are voting for candidates who are compassionate and care about people who are not powerful or who have little influence. It should be put to rest. My family has voted the Democratic ticket since at least FDR and there isn't a welfare recipient in the bunch, unless you are silly enough to believe that Social Security and Medicare are welfare. We vote in hopes of a fairer country and opportunity for our children.
The only gamble the GOP faces is pulling off voting fraud through the rigged voting machines set to elect Jab Bush, without the people rioting.
@Karen C.-1567472 -- You know - one of the biggest differences between the Democrats and Republicans - is - people actually speak in favor of Democrats. Republicans never have anything good to say about the Republican Party - they only attack people that say good things about Democrats.
A lot of people speak up to defend Obama. And they are attacked by 'conservatives' for their views. Who speaks in defense of Romney? Who lists Romney's accomplishments? Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate that has consistently been defended and promoted. 'Real' Republicans even attack people speaking up for Ron Paul.
Maybe being a 'real' Republican cannot be defended. Maybe there is nothing positive to say about Republicans.
It was noted on a recent newstalk program that the majority of the money that this country borrows is not from other foreign countries like China as most folks believe, rather it is borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund.
Why do you think that these republican polititians keep talking about privatizing Social Security or passing it off on the States? Because the Federal Govt owes so much money to the SS Trust Fund. This way they can find ways to not payback all that money that was borrowed leaving it up to the States to find the money to finance the pension funds of all those citizens who were required by law to pay FICA. Perhaps they will now call it SICA instead, so the states can now fall under the burden of trying to pay SS receipients parcelling it out like welfare. LOL How will the states get the money to finance this new SICA by raising the State tax no doubt.
The other thing is if these republicans can get to privatize the SS trust fund think of alllllll that money that they believe that would now be put into the hands of the financial folks/Wall Street, as people try to either find someplace to park their pension money or try to maximize their benefits by putting the money for their pension in the hands of the very folks that tanked the American economy.
This whole privatize SS and or pass this over to the states is not about helping the masses or giving the masses control over their SS pension funds, it is rather all about helping their big donors in the financial/WS gain access to the masses pension money imo.
So what if the should go under like happened in 2008, the feds would have no responsibility towards replacing it unlike when the feds bailed out these too big to fail financial institutions as this would be a state problem. Look what happened in the past when the banks etc tanked taking all the masses money with them leading to the great depression, or when the savings and loans tanked and left a lot of people broke and suicidal. Some people survived some did not, and just like then we now have many people losing their homes and some people who are being reduced to being homeless.
If these institutions tank taking the masses money down the rabbit hole these polititians who are so much into other people in the masses taking personal responsibility and doing away with what they perceive as a socialistic program, will no doubt just blame the masses for their supposed failure of not investing wisely... and that the returns in the stock market etc is not guaranteed blah blah blah. LOL Mind you it would be questionable how much anyone would actually get when they are 65 as no doubt their savings would have been eaten up with the usual fees/charges for managing their funds.
Another thing could be that because of all the money that has been borrowed from the SS trust fund over the years to balance the budget that is why these polititians are trying to raise the retirement age to near 70. So hopefully most people in the masses would be dead already, or die within a few years after retirement and thus do not collect anything (much)so were just paying an additional level of taxes all their working lives and therefore less for the feds to pay out. In another few years they will try again to raise the retirement age for people in the masses to perhaps 75. That should do the trick death wise. LOL
Ah our rugged individualism.... nothing like living under that bridge or out in the forest somewhere, cold, hungry, preggers and broke but never broken.... LOL
Peace.......
Soc. Sec. is only half. Giving Romney his way, Medicare will be privatized too. This packeage of his also contains the beloved... you guessed it... coupons. Meanwhile, banks get the money.
Bosslimo, see that you conviently left out the fact that obamacare also provides coupons (vouchers) for those that can't afford "affordable" healthcare and that anyone who has their employer contribute to healthcare coverage that amount now becomes part of the employees "earned income" and taxable. Such a guy obama is to the middle class...lol!
American...what coupons are you talking about now?
Are they like those ficticious death panels the T'repcondinos were talking about? LOL
BZ/ I am pleased that someone else is finally pointing out that our social security is not income tax and that even G.W B. commented on the fact that the government should not be looting it to appear to be balancing the budget .We pay into it and the politicians should not be allowed to even consider stealing it. No one running for elected office ever appears to think that taking our s/s. saving is stealing even though they take it,without permission, lend it out at 4%,or more and on the rare occasion when they do return it ,pay it back at 2%. Too many people think that S.S. benifits come out of income tax and think that this old,and false lie that the employers keep spouting ,What is good for us is good for the people off whom we are stealing. Do you think that this is a liberal lie? If you do you are helping to scre- yourself as well as me.
S.S. isn't a tax. It's something we pay into in order to get back at some point in life. I find it appalling they would take money out of that fund period for any reason. Although politically, being able to take money, not from the general fund they account for, and throw it at the masses is advantageous. But still dispicable.
american-2051576
Obviously, it just wasn't placed in as simple language as possible. There's a difference between coupons and discounts.
Not so fast Romney! If Sarah Palin would agree to get in the
race, if this does go to a brokered convention, then certainly you will NOT be
the nominee.
Even the thought of Sarah Palin jumping in the race at the
convention is exciting even to me, and I'd rather eat sand than to vote for
either her or Romney, but it would be exciting, and it would surely cause a
stir!
Obama / Biden 2012
Msnbc seemed to totally miss story on unemployment rate just went up to 9.1 %. When the news is
bad for Obama they hide it or don't report it. obama will never win with unemployment that high even
if msnbc doesn't report it. msnbc is state run media.
You know I just went to the Fox Noise Web Site looked on the comment section about Newt and read 16 posts currently. 12 hated him. Now the Fox Noise crowd comes to this site to rant and rave due to the fact they get the same reaction everywhere they go. They are the fringe minority yelling stop the black man, stop the black man at all costs even 3 billion dollars

I understand Sarah may be available for another VP shot. Her TV gigs do not seem as regular as was assumed.
Those who love Palin are very devout (and deluded), but when put up against the populace you should be living in - the majority living in reality - she (Palin) got smoked. I like to tell Fox News watchers - who love to quote Ratings, that iCarly gets better ratings than Fox News. This ain't Boxing - you don't get to be King of the 138lb division...you far left and right preachers are a small minority.
They/we better legalize weed before we ever elect a Palin - I live in reality, but I have my limits - no way in Hell I'm I listening to her for 4 years...sober.
The use of the word "you" should be taken as a generalization and not any one specific person.
Fake News' lazy ratings whiners keep crowing about Fake Noise's ratings of beating MSNBC & CNN. What they don't crow about is Fake News' daily ratings of 1.9 mil is not much in a country of 310 mil.
Everyone knows Fake Noise's viewers don't get much exercise after turning off their pickup trucks for the day.
The Winkin' Wasillabilly will NOT be on another POTUS ticket. EVER!
Palin lost the election for McCain (the warmonger) and she would lose the election again for who ever was stupid enough to get her on the ticket. SNL would have endless comedy material thou
I voted for Palin though McCain was unelectable.
I Second that CALL......
Get rid of all Anti-People politicians this November.
Get off your lazy butts and register to vote and VOTE.
Obama/Biden.....2012
I third that call...
Get rid of all Anti-People politicians this November
Get off your lazy butts and register to vote and VOTE
Obama/Biden......2012
I fourth that call...
Get rid of all Anti-People politicians this November
Get off your lazy butts and register to vote and VOTE
Ron Paul......2012
Good ol' Egilman. While I do not agree with you on the candidate, at least we can agree that we need people to vote.
There's not much of a gamble here. Any of the GOP candidates can beat Obama. My dog could beat Obama. Obama has led this country over the cliff and into the abyss. I wonder when he's going to apologize to the American people? He's apologized to everyone else, even our enemies.
your political IQ is a negative number . . . . Well don't worry, we understand. The only number that you need to know is that President Obama will be in the Oval Office completing his agenda for 4 more years and the numbers show that the Democrats will be in power for a generation. You lose and your short lived tea bag party loses but the country progresses. Get over it because it is going to be in your face for awhile.
CEO....what an ignorant post....stupid really.
CEO, stay off the cartoon network, because what you espouse is nothing more than fiction, unless you didn't see Bush's apology to China for a U.S. Military plane that went into their air space after having problems, and then had that plane come back in pieces after China was done taking it apart for info. Of course NO ONE in America including the families of 3,000+ soldiers killed will ever hear an apology from Bush for LYING and using the emotions of all Americans to go to war with Iraq over 'terrorists' who never came from there via 9/11. Of course if you like those who are cowards who give backhanded slaps of an faux-apology like the GOP do, wallow in that mud all you want.
Don't you like the tax cuts he gave you? Your dog is already running; actually three dogs: Romney, Santoium, and Gingrick. (all misspelled words are intentional so you can understand better). The only abyss out there is the one Bushie boy created. Had Obama not rescued the auto industry and kept the banks afloat, how happy would you be?
CEO2NV2
And please let us know the name of your dog he might just get my vote. Because there is no way i would vote for the losers running for the GOP.
If you love unemployment and high gas prices, if you are tired of American prosperity just vote for Obama!
CEO2NV2 ...must be snortin' some real powerful dust! His allusion is an illusion.
BTW: Obama Biden win again in 2012! No doubt!!
Ignorant people.
http://www.ronpaul.com/
Gallup released new unemployment stats for this month.....9.1% is not good for all those keeping score.
Show your proof, oh mighty Raff!
To all those right-wingers who support supply-side economics, get ready for a tailspin. According to the Tax Policy Center (funded by the nonpartisan Urban Institute and the relatively center, maybe center-left Brookings Institution), the Bush tax cuts had a relatively small role in improving the economy after the 2001 recession and little effect on helping investors and small businesses; in fact, rising interest rates due to budget deficits negatively affected small businesses and had practically no effect for lower income Americans, who arguably received most of the tax cuts. In addition, before the Bush tax cuts, federal revenues were 20.9% of GDP (a welcome amount for those who would advise using surpluses to improve overall GDP growth). After the tax cuts, they shrank to a little over 16%. Finally, the Bush tax cuts have cost the government $2.2 trillion in lower revenues over the past 9 years from 2001 to 2010, and will cost even more in the coming years.
And to all those saying that the top earners in America pay 90% of taxes in America, that is untrue. The top quintile pays 66% of taxes, compared that the top 20% controls a total of 93% of wealth in America.
In conclusion, SUPPLY-SIDE ECONOMICS DOES NOT WORK. The Bush tax cuts had no effect on improving the economy whatsoever, and repealing them would be a huge boon to reducing deficits. However, the Fed recently stated that economic growth would shrink due to repealing the tax cuts (probably due to investors using their tax returns to invest now that we are in a recovery), so I would at least repeal the tax cuts for everyone making over $250,000 a year until about 2014, and then repeal them for everyone. That would easily help reduce the deficit over the next decade.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
SUPPLY-SIDE GOP OUT 2012
Finally some facts that make sense from this article. What a great point!! This is so true and this is why Romney will beat Obama in 2012!!! McCain in 2008 ran on the possiblilities of what would happen in an Obama Administration, now that Obama put his failed policies into action and made them a reality, Romney will make his stronge case to the people to remind them of his failed policies, hold him accountable and convince the voters why Obama should not deserve a second term!!
You mean despite the fact that most Americans want health reform and that the GOP was responsible for the majority of the government intrusion into our lives.
The policies aren't a failure, they're working, albeit slowly. When the President took office the economy was in free fall and at this point they've gone slightly positive.
Ultimately, he'll win because the GOP contenders don't care about America and would rather destroy the country than see a liberal win the race.
Dee, I'm betting you haven't even read Romney's 59 point Plan, have you. 25 of those 'points' have been called terrible for the U.S., and the rest are what President Obama has already been doing or proposing, Romney only tweaked them a little to make them sound different. You seem to forget President Bush started the Solyndra plan before he left office, the Stimulus' DID work, 23+ months of POSITIVE GROWTH, despite obstruction from your beloved GOP/Tea Party who from President Obama's beginning, proudly said publicly they wanted to make sure he was a 1-term President. We HAVE seen accountability from President Obama, for ending the hemorhaging from the UNaccountable Bush years.
Romney's 59 point plan is 10 points shy of a Republican working position.
How can a candidate (with a straight face) tell America that nobody can determine what his tax plan will save or cost? Is this the new Republican strategy - make it up as you go? Is that how Romney became 'successful' - flying by the seat of his pants?
Famtomdog, and how much did this cost American taxpayers,I believe it is over 5 trillion and still growing , and you call this positive growth, yes in the debt
Please open your eyes, America is heading down the wrong path, sorry, but I haven't looked at the 59 point plan, but if President Obama is already implementing these policies than from what I've seen he is all talk and no action, so I don't believe he is really implementing those plans, please give specifics.
If the people of Ma. wouldn't re- elect Romney to a second term as governor, what in the world makes one think the people of the United States will elect him as president? Same goes for Santorum that wasn't re-elected as senator in Pa.
John I,
You claim that Obama was responsible for 5 trillion and still growing? If you think back 3 plus years you might remember that when Obama took office the country was bleeding billions of dollars every day. It was like the submarine in the movie "Ice Station Zebra" with Rock Hudson. When Obama took over the forward torpedo room is flooded and the sub is diving to the bottom of the ocean as fast as it can go. The actions that Obama took in office during his first four months started the engines in reverse and slowed the dive. We are now starting to come back up.
As a country we are still a long way to get back to the surface. The argument that Obama is responsible for that 5 trillion dollar loss is just silly and GOP BS. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing that line.
Do you still not understand that gov.doesn't hire in the private sector. That is the responsibility of the personnel dept. or the employer . I will be voting for Obama , but his suggestion that we bribe employers to hire is ,in my opinion is not a good idea. O well,no one is perfect!
Romney can't make a strong case for anything, his tax breaks will help the rich and hurt the poor.
His tax plan is smoke and mirrors, mathematically it doesn't make any sense.
9.1% unemployment doesnt speak well for Obama. Get him OUT!
RafftheGreat
Got a link? I'm showing it at 8.3% http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000
Sorry but the number of jobs under Obama has increased steadily for the last 18+ months. What the hell r u smokin ? Maybe you're drinking far too much of that GOP INSANITea. Seems you're ODing.
Rick Santorum would be interesting. I don't think most people understand the implications of Rick Santorum as President. He does not believe in the separation of church and state and probably give a historic challenge to its constitutional definition. He believes the the church should run the country according to his values. Under laws passed recently, he could declare atheists to be terrorists. Enemies against the values and soul of the country. At minimum he will bring back school prayer and nullify huge amounts of law. With the religious right behind him, the All Criminals Love Us (ACLU) would be pretty powerless.
There is a movement now to change the Republican Party to the American Faith Party (AFP). I am not saying any of this is bad, but there is more than meets the eye. Besides like Obamacare, it could never happen.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/05/republican-party-religion-first-religious-party_n_1322132.html?ref=elections-2012”
Cynic, would be a little hard to bring back prayer to school since Santorum wants education butchered as a sacrifice to his God, which is hypocritical since he and his wife have like 5 degrees between them.
Santorum will never be President.
Santorum is what Republicans really want. They would be happy taking us back to about 1916 when everyone knew their place. Let them run him in November and watch Obama win in a landslide.
No, Republicans, with the exception of a few far right radicals want Romney as witnessed by the results from the elections on Super Tuesday!! The people have spoken yesterday, Romney will clinch this and will move on to beat Obama!
And a gamble it is..even the odd makers in Vegas already have Romney at 90-1 (a very very very long shot)....against Obama.
We'll see what happens when Romney clinches the nomination and goes after Obama's pathetic record. Obama will have to answer for all his failures in the debates without the protection from the media and other distractions. I am sure by then, gas prices will be at record levels and unemployment will continue to lag above 8%. If I were a gambling person, I would be placing my bet on Romney!!
Dee, you got $10 grand to bet?
Come November, just remember this supposed 'great' leader before you vote...and get your faux mustache ready, Dee.
Who do the republicans get their talking points from?
"The national government will maintain and defend the foundations on which the power of our nation rests.
It will offer strong protection to Christianity as the very basis of our collective morality.
Today Christians stand at the head of our country. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit.
We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theatre, and in the press -- in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of LIBERAL excess during the past years."
-- Adolf Hitler
So republicans, who's wearing the funny mustache now?
Everyone who understands how the GOP IS the fascist party please repost this ad nauseum. The voting public needs to be educated to exactly who they would be voting for.
I would bet that and more!
Looks like the GOPee is going down in flames as Independents are abandoning the right wing nut jobs in droves Obama is now leading all GOPee candidates by double digits Looks like a Democratic landslide in Nov. as the GOPee Clown Circus continues
At least in 1916 they didnt have to put up with the bs we get from these dumb people we have living now adays and their political correctness which has made people a bunch of spineless wimps , and when they dont agree with the evil one that run this country they are called narrow minded, but soon it will all come to a head.
In an odd sort of way, you're both right. Philosophically, Santorum is closer to the conservative heart of the Teapublican party than Romney, but they really want to win and see Romney as having a better chance of winning. In short, the Teapublicans will compromise their core values if they think it improves their chances of grabbing more power.
Obama's pathetic record????
Facts Republicans Hate:
Job losses per month in January 2008: 700,000
Job gains last month: 250,000
GDP growth in 2008: negative 6%
GDP growth last year 2.9%
Dow Jones Average in January 2008: Under 8000
Dow Jones Average today: 12,800+
23 straight months of job gains
Record domestic oil production
GM – all time record profits
Near record corporate profits across the board
Osama Bin Laden --- dead
Iraq war --- over
Charlie - according to Gallup - who has never changed how unemployment is calculated the acutal unemployment today is 11%.
DB, might want to check your facts. Here is what Gallup really says:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/152063/Unemployment-Mid-January.aspx
Notice the first graph saying "unemployment". it was 11% in Jan 2010 and is now at 8.3%. Underemployment rate is also trending down. But don't let facts get in your way.
Unemployment is trending down huh? That will certainly be welcome news to the 13-15 million that have given up, or dropped off unemplyment roles (sarcasm turned on).
Says 9.1% for mid February. Using old stats to try and prove your point is not becoming of an Obama supporter....no wait, it is.
I see this moronic statement all the time. They've extended unemployemnt several times. If anyone applied simple logic to it, they would factor in the retired, disabled, and those that doesn't need a job.
Stating simply that they have "given up" is ridiculous at best. If you need a job, you keep looking for a job, period.
Since Obama is a known failure you would think Elmer Fudd should be able to win. Bottom line is this election is a vote for or against Obama and does not really matter who else is on the ballot.
President Fudd..... nice ring to it! (at least he won't be a half-breed communist Kenyan!) </sarc>
Roadkill: just like your enbred mother right? LOL.
Obama is not the one who is failing. We need to get rid of everyone on capitol hill. They are stopping jobs, health care and social security. sad bunch of folks. They are also stopping people of color and seniors from voting. They are crazy and crooks, hungry for money.
Failure? He got healthcare reform through, stopped the economic free fall and managed to get some bank reform in place.
Far more than what the GOP has done for us lately.
Beware of Healthcare - Supreme Court should rule against it just because the government can not pay for it or manage it as proven with Medicare, Medicaid, stealing from our social security, the Post Office, Border Protection, etc... He is spending money we do not have so we are owned by China, and he is keeping us from recovery to push his failed green programs. Great job!
Hey Frank, you forgot the everlasting talking point of the left. "He got Bin Laden". There, now complete. Sheep!
And no, far more important is the brakes that were put on the Obama train to ruination. Thank you GOP in Congress for recognizing the signs and doing what you promised.
To #8.6
"Thank you GOP in Congress for recognizing the signs and doing what you promised."
"Absolutely Nothing" comes to mind.
And stopping jobs from being created in order to "make Obama a one-term president."
hawk-2946882, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor.
The most important thing the American voter needs to think about is beating Obama. If we allow this Media Matters orchestrated and self-inflicted DOP implosion to continue to the convention, this is what we’ll get: 4 more years of unstrained and irreparable Obama socialist damage. Kansas, Alabama, & Mississippi consider voting smart and sending a shocking message to Omama. Only Romney can beat Obama, he knows it, and you know it as well. Four years ago Mitt chose to bow out of the race and campaign with McCain rather than drag the party further into mudslinging and a brokered convention. Santorum even called Romney “the conservative choice”. Now it is time for star-struck Rick and revenged-bent Newt to do the same, for the good of the country. Newt & Rick talk a good conservative line, but Mitt lives it and has proven he can lead as a Governor and businessman. When we wake up November 6th with Obama re-elected and wonder ‘how in the world’ this could happen. Go take a long look in the mirror. Only Mitt beats Barack, don’t let Obama pick his opponent. Vote Smart. Vote Romney.
I'm sorry backfire but I tend to disagree with you. As badly as I would like to see Obama go (and most especially Biden, Benanke, Geither and asst'd others), given the whole field of candidates running together, they would not take more than two states. Just remember I said this come November. But what is doable is capturing the Senate. With so many Democrat seats on the line, I could see a Senate take over thus making Obama irrelevant. In good conscience, i could not vote for any of the candidates with the possible exception of Gary Johnson.
Liberty you have a rude awakening. Romney will win because he captures the Latino vote. All of America is aware of the war that is being raged between the blacks and Latinos. Blacks hate Latino's since they have become the largest minority group, and since they is no love between the two the Latino vote will go with the Republican even if they are Democrats.
Nice analysis... Josh!!! You have all the right to dream..... but still that is an empty dream for you!
I am an Independent that will only vote for Obama and Democrats as long as Republican do not change and continue protecting the super rich!
Josh - I wonder where you are getting your information from (blacks hate Latinos). If you are NOT BLACK OR LATINO, you can't make that assessment and furthermore, ANY Latino that will vote republican will be, in my opinion, voting for the toughest immigration laws that will prevent or even DENY them any rights or opportunity to become a naturalized citizen IF THEY ARE illegals. If you have a BASIS for this claim, prove it and talking points are not considered a basis. On another note.
What many of you are forgetting is a KEY ELEMENT for Romney, the more he caters to the right to gain the nomination, the more he ALIENATES himself from the middle AND Independents like myself. I know for a fact given his history, he will do a lot of flip flopping between accepting the nomination AND trying to appeal to those INDEPENDENTS that will determine the election this year. Romney can't garner more than 40% of his own party base and that says a lot. Most in his own party don't trust him and he will have NO CHOICE but to do what the "establishment" says. McCain veered from his own ideas(yes I would have voted for him and NOT Obama) for the establishment and look what happen. IF Romney does the same thing, unfortunately, he won't stand a chance as the "establishment" will make him unelectable.
And for those who STILL THINKS the President can control the rising gas prices, I say to you, What's your proof?
Romney will win because he captures the Latino vote
What are you smoking???? George w. Bush barely won carrying more than 40% of the Hispanic vote. Today -- less that 14% of the Hispanics voters back Republicans. That fact alone is a huge disadvantage for Republicans. Combine that with with the women vote going overwhelming for President Obama and Romney is going nowhere.
Charlie - the independents are leaving Obama.
Charlie - the independents are leaving Obama.
No -- they're not. In fact --- the opposite is true -- independents are leaving republicans and that's especially true for independent women. You can live in your little fox dream world all you want but that won't change the reality on the ground.
I doubt very much if capturing the senate is possible at this coming time. The Rep's. are emasculated by their cohorts of the Tea Party .I think that pandering to a right wing conservative group is damaging their chances of getting a majority again in either house. I hope that I am correct,as anyone who reads my comments realise that I am a liberal politically. With the probable descent into the sixteenth century socially if we were so unfortunate enough for this antiquated party to win both houses, there would be only one benefit and that would be the immigration problem would be solved. I doubt if even the 1% would be happy.
Americans tend to blame the GOP more for the obstruction in Congress. That means that they probably won't vote for more GOP senators. In fact, there could be a wave of Independents and moderates who will shore up the Senate and make substantial (if not decisive) gains in the House. Think about it. Usually during the primaries, candidates cater to the base while maintaining space for independents in the general. That is not the case with the GOP. It's all red-meat over there. They save no space for moderation; it's all right-wing BS for them. In fact, if you check the polls all of the GOP contenders, Obama beats them all. He is approximately at 50% approval, and Romney is bleeding independent support as the primary drags on, forcing him to pander to the right and use negative ads that will erode his support among moderates, independents, and maybe even conservatives. He may have the support of an entire party, but that party will be fractured by internal rifts, while the Democrats are united for Obama. Doesn't seem like the Republicans are in a good spot. We liberals ought to push forward on all fronts and chase the Republicans back to the minority in BOTH houses. So please, people, come out and vote. This nation needs your help, and you will be helping America exact revenge on the GOP for 30 years of failed economic policies, massive debt, and increasing economic inequality and class warfare.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
DEMOCRAT CONGRESS 2012
DEATH TO THE FASCIST RIGHT-WING GOP 2012
Sorry Backfire..you lose
cissy969: Seems like backfire has been drinking the stupid juice again and looking at fox news.
No Cissy,! Obama will lose when Romney gets the well deserved nomination and Obama will have to answer for his failed record!! One debate is all that is needed to expose Obama for his failures. As i have posted before, I would pay money to see Romney and Obama debate on how to get jobs or how to create a job. Obama will be exposed as a failure, the voters will see it and vote him out of office and get someone in with real experience, not someone who never had a real job, served a few months in the senate and voted present.
Dee....reality check. When Obama took office the economy was shedding 850,000 jobs per month! Todays job creation numbers are amazing considering......you honestly think the price of gas is attributable to Obama? Try the constant war mongering by the likes of McCain....there certainly is no shortage of petrolium or gasoline. The speculators only need to rattle the sabres and the price of oil jumps like GWB onto Cheney's lap.
Most of your posts are the same old hyperbole with little or no substance. You really should get a real job....there's lots of openings now....unlike when Obama took office.
Ever wonder why Obama's people have been betting on Flipp Flopney to win the nomination? The guy has more skeletons in his closet than a Hollywood prop company. Once all his dirty deals with Bain start coming out in the fall he'll wish he had lost to Herman Cain.
DEE PATRIOT
Will you please explain how the flip flop man is going to do all if and when he gets in. Because so far he has not said one word how he will put every thing back on track. And seeing how you have in side info please share some with us dumb folk.
Obama will be unemployed by the middle of november and the United States will have the first ever Latino Vice President! Viva Latino!
Reality check, if the economy is creating jobs, don't bet it is because of Obama's policies. There is such thing a free market that sets the stage for creating jobs, a lesson for you liberals, jobs do not come from Government. Obama hasn't a clue on creating jobs, especially since he has never had one himself. He does not have a clue on what he is doing. And as far as gas prices, even though I know the President is not directly responsible for the rise of gas prices, he certainly is not helping the situation with his anti drilling policies. And please don't say more oil drilling permits have been opened up in the Obama administration than under the Bush Administration. Bush has released many drilling permits for them to go into effect during the Obama administration and Obama ofcourse is taking credit for them. Did you know about the admission in a hearing with the Energy Secretary that Obama wants the gas prices to stay high on purpose to wean people off fossil fuels? I guess his agenda comes first and screw the people, they should learn an expensive lesson in this economy that there is an alternative to fossil fuel. What a piece of work he is. People will see right through this and his failed green agenda that cost taxpayers billions of dollars will be exposed as well!!
Romney has no skeletons in his closet. Democrats have been looking to find dirt on him and came up empty. If there was something, I am sure it would be out by now. Nice try on that one. He was a hard worker, made his own success and has a very impressive resume. What does Obama's resume look like? Empty! And for the record, Democrats don't want Romney, they fear him because they know he is the best qualified to beat this failure of a President. He will expose his failure and the people will see them and vote their conscience.
Kevin you moron. You have taken the lib talking point of 750K jobs up to 850K. I want you to show or cite ONE MONTH in which that many jobs were lost. And like your lib pundits, don't tell me it was a typo. I have proven this number wrong before as NO ONE responded. They couldn't.
Dee,
You make a good point with regards to job creation but there is ONE KEY element that you are missing, INCENTIVE! Have you ever stop to think WHY we were losing jobs at a record pace to begin with? The MAIN reason why we are creating jobs again is BECAUSE President Obama made it a POINT to OFFER companies that moved jobs back to the US from overseas a tax break as well as other INCENTIVES. GRANTED jobs are NOT being created at a pace that would lower the unemployment rate at an "acceptable" level(who knows what that is) but nonetheless THEY ARE being created. Free market can't create jobs alone and I hope you are smart enough to know that. Oh, as for that "admission", I'm still looking for it. still haven't been able to find it. Perhaps you can shed light as to where it is...........
Unemployment up to 9.1%. Job loss is outracing job "creation".
Talk to the Hand: you're absolutely right, if you look at one month in particular. Now look at the overall trend from the period in question:
Oct. '08 - 240,000
Nov. '08 - 533,000
Dec. '08 - 524,000
Jan. '09 - 650,000 (The month Obama was sworn in as president)
Feb. '09 - 651,000
Mar. '09 - 663,000
Apr. '09 - 539,000
The claim was exaggerated by ~100k. And how does that change or truly refute anything claimed by the "libs"? Liberals are the only ones who spin facts? They ALL lie! Do we really need to go there and what end does it serve ultimately? Are you also going to say that because Obama took office in Jan. '09, that everything from that date is his fault? The economy (and by proxy, unemployment) is more like a freight train than a Ferrari. Anyone thinking it can turn on a dime is a fool.
Please don't make me post a lmgtfy.com link. Geez!
Dee Patriot, so you are saying that any increase in jobs is due to the free market and not to any of Obama's job creation initiatives; but at the same time, you are saying that high gas prices are due to Obama's failed policies, and the free market just doesn't apply.
Under increasing oil production in the US, the US has now become a net exporter of oil (more exported than imported) because the private oil companies which own the extracted oil have chosen to sell it abroad for a higher price than it would fetch in the US. It's called self-interest.
Government creates jobs. It creates highway construction jobs, air traffic controller jobs, cops, teachers, technologic and medical research jobs and it creates all the jobs that keep your life and property protected from thugs and deadbeats.
All good news is due to the free market. The free market cannot ever cause bad news, because ..., well .... er, ..... I guess, just because; and since the free market cannot create bad news, it..., it.... , wait! I know! It must be Obama's fault. Yeah, that's it! Bad news is Obama's fault!
if you people want to eat the next four years, i wouldn't vote for obama, even the young people are getting lower starting pay and with gas going up, because of obama green crap, they'll be lucky to get to work. we are going backwards folks and i am disabled and i read an awful, and it isn't good with obama, but hey if you have a lot of money stashed away, matbe it might last, if not, your screwed, i am independent and that black and white man isn't getting my vote. i see things going up everyday because of him.
Other than reading an Awful- I'm not sure you could back up one thing you said MICHAEL. The President can suggest bills but Congrss must write them. And since not one has gone through as he propsoed it, you can hardly blame him for anything you claim to be wrong. On the other hand, Bush had several pieces of his go through without change. So just who do you balme for the recessionthat started a year before the election and lead to 750,000 jobs a month disappearing by January 2009?
I don't care who you vote for, but use facts in your decision, not distortions.
Sorry to say Michael is correct. Before Barry took office gas was $1.69 now it is over $4.00 a gallon, eggs were 49 cents a dozen now they are almost $2.00, milk has double in price, so has bread. so unless you have an unlimited supply of money you will not be able to eat if Obama stays in office. The only thing that has come down while Obama has been in office is the standard of living for all Americans!
Josh,
If your guy gets in office you are going to think that those prices were a bargain! Hate to burst your bubble, but our standard of living has been going down ever since Regan took office. He was the one that started to deplete the middle class and turned the Republican party into what it is today. Extreme right wing with no regard or concern for your average American citizen.
Sorry to say Josh##### gas was over $4 a gallon in the summer of 2008 BEFORE Barry took office. Prices have been going up as long as I have been alive. Heck, I remember buying a hamburger for 25 cents, a candy bar for 5 cents shall I blame the current president for that too? Considering a large proportion of the "policies" that have affected the last 3 years were instated by the Bush administration, and much of the economic strife started with "Reaganomics" trickling up for the last 30+ years. I am not too confidant about Romney an "old" family friend of the Bushes, not to mention Romneys staff comprised of former Bush cronies.
Bob - when your party has super majorities in both the house and senate, until they figure out that you are wrong they will give you anything you ask for. That's what happened with Carter - and a tepid economy had the bottom fall out of it. The same thing has happened with Obama except the economy was shedding jobs.
What stopped the collapse was TARP. Now because people are so leary of the HCL, and the bankrupt government issues here and abroad, few feel like risking what they do have. If they try to move money, they are going to get taxed. If they do move the money into a new venture, they can expect less return. This is causing them to sit on the money until things look better.
Michael59--.That black/white lets it all out. I was a job shopper for most of the time upon completing my 5% year apprenticeship ,deliberately I should add. I would tell you that every time we experienced a downturn in the economy, we also saw wage's drop as well. this is a fact. The wage reduction is caused by employers ,not the government, irrespective of who controlled the political scene. If you mean by independent you mean politically, I doubt it . Reading an awful lot doesn't mean much if it is undisciplined , or if you come to unreasonable conclusions.
Let's review Romney's tax plan again - another tax decrease for the rich and trillions in added national debt.
His total lack of any coherent foreign policiy should give anyone pause - and the rest of his competitors are ready to bomb Syria......following McCain's cue. What we need is another preemtive military action to help finish what Bush started.......is there any sanity left in the GOP anywhere?
I think Romney will be ready for another run at POTUS in 2016 once he knocks the rough edges off his cobbled together half-baked ideas. When Santorum can take 3 states in the primaries, Romney can be certain he's no populist candidate - by a long shot.
Meanwhile, Obama/Biden again in 2012........without any doubt whatsoever.
Perspective the problem is Obama is spending it faster than he can take it in so with the waste, fraud, and overspeading in the government taxes should frozen until they get their act together. Otherwise we may as well be buying stock in Solyndra.
Jeff, you do realize that under Bush that the GOP spent far more than under Obama and that the economy was in free fall when Obama took office. Bush went from a budget surplus to massive debts in only a few years.
Previously, under Reagan and Bush we ended up with $4tn in debt.
But, I'm sure that the tiny amount of waste that Solyndra cost us is what's bankrupting the nation.
No Way! Obama is an anti-Semite!
Yeah Bush two wars I guess you have not gone after those that attacked us on our soil. I agree we should have kicked butt nad come home sooner.
Jeff,
One of those wars had nothing to do with who attacked us! Remember the lies about Iraq having the nuclear bomb? Also, Bush stated Laden was of no concern, but under whose watch was he finally brought to justice? Just a few facts thrown out there.
Frank
what kind of weird debt measuring tool do you use? Under Bush deficits were 4.9 Trillion in eight years or an average of 661 Billion per year, Obama has 4.3 Trillion in just 3 years or 1.4 Trillion per year. That is 2.5 times the red ink per year.
Let's put it in a different way. With Bush and the Republicans (mostly) 2001 - 2007 had 2/7 Billion in deficits or 449 Billion per year. With Bush under a Democrat controlled congress the Deficits were 2.2 Trillion or 1.095 Trillion per year. With Obama and a Democrat super majority overspent 3.1 Trillion or 1.54 Trillion per year. With just giving republicans a majority in the house that has dropped to 1.2 Trillion.
Ignore all that though - it's really the republicans who are still spending us into oblivion.
It took 200 years to accumulate $5T in debt. It only took Bush 8 years to double that. But that's OK, huh?
He also trashed the economy! The biggest reason that Obama is running such huge deficits is because revenue is down. Revenue is down because so many people are out of work and not paying taxes. And you can lay that right at Bush's feet too. Even with one of your sainted Republicans in office for the last 3 years, deficits and debt would be high. Because Bush trashed the economy.
Sorry, in spite of all your BS, history tells us exactly how Republicans manage the economy and it ain't pretty!
roadkill: my thoughts exactly, good man, yep obama wants change and it isn't good for the American people, he wants to be socialis and i believe somewhere down the road before they have tried it and it killed us, obama needs the Jewish votes and thats why he is playing games with isreal, holding them off to start a war, if he gets in and then their is a war, damn obama isn't going,
Obama is an anti Semite and Israel knows this!
Josh,
And you have proof of this? What a stupid statement. Really.
Josh just talks to hear the marbles in his head rattle.
Ughh, if I here any more pandering on how Obama is anti-Israel and how we should "stand with Israel" from another right-winger I will LOSE IT. I am tired of babysitting the Israelis. I love Israel, but the US cannot keep babying them. We have to cut the umbilical chord. Keep giving them aid and such, but extricate ourselves from them a tad and start working for an agreement that benefits both Arabs and Israelis. The only guy I respect on the GOP field in respect to Israel is Ron Paul; at least he isn't beholden to the pro-Israeli lobby. Unfortunately, most of his ideas will probably ruin America. Ahh well.
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
Just decide on a GOP already. Romney is smart and has done well in managing "period". OBAMA only woke up in the last 4-6 months, when the GOP 's campaigning in full swing.
Romney always has a "game plan".
VOTE GOP 2012!
LOL Obama only took the job because he knew that he would be kept for 4 years with unlimited food and travel.
Lucy, sharing a brain with Ethel? Romney has managed really well going through $100 million in just 21 States, and has been reaching in his own pockets for cash, yep, that's managing. No Wonder he wants these primaries stopped or else he'll be crying that all that SuperPac money the GOP 'SCOTUS' magically granted him is gone come November.
Can we vote tomorrow? I really do not want my summer ruined with all this up to November. Its all about being for or against Obama anyway and nothing going to change.
These right wing scrum suckers are not going to be happy until they stick their clueless white guy in office so he can start world war 3 and get half of the planet killed because they refuse to believe that a black man is their equal in more ways than one. Was'nt Bush Jr. enough?
Clueless half ass black man.
There are a vast number of people, mostly in the south, that will say and do almost anything to get a black man out of the White House. They will lie mostly.
Is this just a @!$%#ing GAME for the 1percent? Who are these CREEPS - and no real person of integrity would back EITHER OF THEM!!!!
Roberta your post is as ignorant as you are.
Josh, some fairy tales do come true, but only in your mind, not in the real world. Peter Pan syndrome much?
Peter Pan gave us 9.1% unemployment too, I guess.
Where is the proof, oh mighty Raff?
OBAMA BIDEN 2012
Willard Romney as President gives me nightmares as that evil rat leader in the horror flick 'Willard' with his army of evil rats ( Tea Party Rats, The Rat Bain, Boehner, Cantor, McConnel, Rove, Cheney, Limbaugh, Palin, Coulter, his Super PAC Rats and all the other media and congressional conservative Rats, etc.) all attacking us and destroying this country.
Hmm, well Obama as President gives me nightmares as the lead in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. You do know he is on the DL according to the National Enquirer.
"Your President is not a Crook!"
Richard Nixon-1973
Josh - No way does that trump evil Willard and his Republican Rats. I can see it now - we gotta get out a viral video on this with Romney in the lead role! Maybe have Romney walking down a dark hall with thousands of Rats with little Repub leaders/media figure faces running past him and a deep voice saying...HERE THEY COME AMERICA! WHERE YOUR NIGHTMARES END.....WILLARD ROMNEY BEGINS! It'll be great....and all over the web! LOL
Hey DNC! I want dibs on this one!
Sorry Josh but thank you - you walked right into this one.
Ya know........if you part Romneys hair in the middle....... take a few year off....... darken his hair.......
HE LOOKS JUST LIKE THAT CHARACTER IN THE 1970's HORROR FLICK! LOL
prohb-1892005: You forgot the female scrum queen rat Jan Brewer and her friend the cheese eating king of the rats Chris Christi.
Maybe THAT'S why Romney changed his first name - can't have a wimpy and weird name like 'Willard', especially with that RAT movie, if you gonna run for President someday. Just one more thing to add to the long list spelling him out as a sleazy, swarmy politician.
ALL of them are sleazy politicians. Obama is just the worst of them. 9.1% unemployment....so much for that "great" job outlook.
Where is the proof, oh Mighty Raff???
Listen to Rush and all the GOP & Teabaggerss Its all about the Wealthy getting richer and the middle class getting poorer.....They don't want to help the poor, I do mean the poor not the lazy good for nothings...Who are the one's that leach off the taxpayer. The Wealthy: they get welfare both for themselves an for the Corps. So really All party are at fault...But it seems that the Wealthy get away with it like the.(.Democrat )...They steal billions and the few poor steals a few thousands. So what does the GOP want, is Screw the MIddle Class to get even with the few. As I say its the me me me and F everyone else.... The failures of the Republicans party trying to take away SS & Medicare & Health care for Woman so they can give their wealthy Blackmailers more money...To hell with the Poor and Needy. Let them freeze in the winter and stave the Old and Babies, let them die from bad water, do away with the EPA and thats what you'll have, just like all you Teabaggers want...You make me sick with your Me Me Me altitude. It just a matter of time before the masses raise up against you . Greedy and you all call yourself Christians, Christains. What a laugh: Your no better than the Muslims you all hate. Wake up America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAKE UP!!! Dope head go get some more Oxy
What is it with the Republican attachment to conservatives? Conservatives do not win general elections...only centrists win general elections. Of course, Republicans point to Ronnie Reagan and Dubya (Dumbya) as conservatives who won, but both were psuedo-conservatives. Evangelicals and Tea Partiers are kidding themselves that they can field a candidate who can win. But, the Republican Party has a huge problem...evangelicals and Tea Partiers are the Republicans who most vote in primary elections. The Republican Party cannot get its more moderate members to vote in primary elections. So, the Republican National Committee fails to realize its inherent disadvantage in the silly primary season and its inherent disadvantage in any general election.
Let's see, we're recovering from the worst economic implosion since the great depression brought to us by the Bush administration. So in spite of being saddled with 2 wars and massive debt and deficit, here's what has happened in only 3 years. The stock market has come back from the brink of collapse to near record levels. The Auto Industry was saved by providing loans that the banks couldn't in order to restock their inventory cycles. Private sector job growth is significantly on the rise and government jobs have been significantly decreased. Banks are solvent with loads of cash. Same for U.S. businesses. One war has been ended, another on the way out. Adept foreign policy has enhanced our position and image around the world. Top terrorist leaders have been taken down, including No. 1, Ossama Bin Laden. We have a privatized Health Reform package and reform of bad lending practices that brought on the banking crisis. Naturally the GOP spin tries to dismiss or invalidate the facts, but it is only spin. The middle class and the voters who understand the difference will be there in November for this Administration and another even more successful 4 years will result. If the GOP is smart, and they have not shown that proclivity of late, they will use their limited political capital wisely and find ways to be proactive and cooperative instead of regressive and obstructionist. It is neccessary and healthy for this country to have a strong Republican Party, to have a good two party system, but the GOP has been hijacked by wealth and the extreme right and it is not healthy right now.
Sorry, all you rePukes, but the election is already over. There will be no moving vans from Allied Van Lines at the White House next January. Get over it.
All you teatards, birthers, flat earthers, religious fanatics, mindless dittoheads, evolution deniers, Fox noise cultist and all around 15th century Republicans better get used to President Obama because he's not leaving office until January 2017. Republicans have offered up the most worthless collection of candidates in the history of this nation with no ideas to fix anything other than the failed policies of the past. Talking about birth control, birth certificates, Teleprompters, college transcripts and wars on religion while yelling socialist and Marxist over and over doesn’t attract many voters. And if you don’t come up with some new ideas and find an entirely new group of leaders, a Democrat will win in 2016.
can romney really even compete against someone who has just as much money as him? that is the real question. since he cant defeat those who have way less money than him decisively, the answer may be no.
I think the repubs need to find a young good looking guy who understands the things Ron Paul says so the media can have their pretty boy. Some one who knows what limited government means.
The vanity of the people and media are doing us in. The evangelicals need to keep their religion in the church, the real conservatives need to be in charge of the money not Romney, Santorum or Gingrich they are nowhere near being real conservatives.
The big banks and corporations and industrial complexes need to be cut off from the trough and allowed only to make the money that they can make from the real free markets not the crony capitalist manipulated market. No more subsides to big oil,big agra and big pharma and no more wars we can't afford it. What is wrong with the repubs? God forgive me for the thoughts I am having about them. They can't be that stupid but, they could be that evil. The Republicans are pushing away more people than they are embracing
We can step into a new era and have more freedom and more for all it does not have to go the way it is going.
Umm... I'll take "What is none of them" for 1000, Alex.
My brothers and sisters…. my friends…. my
fellow countrymen….. We stand here today as a nation during a very important
point in time. The decisions we make this year will either plant the seeds for
a brighter future in America, or plant the seeds for our eventual bankruptcy
and destruction as a country.
Our debt as a nation is already out
of control. It will affect our ability to take care of our parents as they age,
our children as they grow, and the dreams we have for our own pursuits of
happiness. This is something most every agrees
upon… at some point (in the near future) the debt this country has will
destroy us as a nation… as it is destroying countries in Europe today. Yet,
there is talk among all but one of the Presidential candidates, regarding the
acceptance and implementation of a new spending program which will easily
exceed 2 trillion dollars. This program has a name. It is called war with Iran.
Military action in Iran will lead
to war, for two reasons…1- Any retaliatory action Iran takes will be met with
equal action by the United States. This is escalation, which will lead to all
out war…2- Once there is an all out war, it will become necessary to institute
a change in the Iranian government. This will require occupation of Iran, as it
did for Iraq. Occupation is expensive and would require at least a decade or
more. By that time, we as a country will have gone bankrupt from the expense,
and we will have nothing to show for it.
We have, at this time, the power to
avoid this terrible future. We must rise above our pettiness and philosophical
disagreements on social issues to oppose the greater enemy who would destroy
us. We must use the power We The People have…..the power to VOTE….to elect as
our President a man who would lead our country away from this financial
Armageddon. There can be no other issue so important to the future of our
country right now than this.
I urge you all to support Dr. Ron
Paul as that leader.
Peace and Prosperity.
~A Fellow American~
Have any of you slobs heard of Ron Paul? He stands for civil liberties, will get us out of the debt, and he will get needless programs and ideas out of the government's control. Either vote Ron Paul 2012, or you are a traitor to the country.
No, that's not right.. in America we have everyone vote for their favorite, and let the best incumbent win!
We don't want to go back to the 1850's. Paul is unelectable.
ROTFLMAO....
Ron Paul....LOLOLOL
The Lyndon LaRouche' of the 21st Century
Yes we have heard of Ron Paul.......No we do NOT think he would make a good president. Is that clear enough?
