Sources: Romney to get Secret Service protection

TAMPA, Fla. -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is getting Secret Service protection.

A Romney campaign adviser says the Secret Service will provide security for the former Massachusetts governor starting Wednesday. Two sources in the Romney campaign confirmed the report to NBC News' Garrett Haake.

An administration official says Romney's campaign requested the protection. The official says the administration determined that Romney met all the conditions for protection. Those include being a major presidential candidate who has raised a certain amount of money.

The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security means.

Well that still won't help his problem with looking or acting human. Just use decoys and save the tax payers the money. Really, no one would know the difference!

Republicans are always talking about stopping the spending and socialism, but they just can't wait to get their hands on as much "socialism" as they possibly can!

Romeny, of all people, who has millions of dollars on nearly every island in the Caribbean, has asked for use of our "socialist," taxpayer paid Secret Service when he has more than enough money to pay for his own. Ahh, spending American Taxpayer money must make Romney feel "presidential".

Republican hypocracy never sleeps.

Don't forget Ro-money was recently glittered and it got on his hair. The horror of it all! Think of all the sleepless nights this will cause, he probably thinks he caught the gay bug. Now what government agency can he request to fix the connection between his brain and mouth?

Here we go......projections are getting clearer......

Mitt would be great at tackling Obama's disastrous crushing debt dilemma .....

Instead of confronting our debt , Obama raised it as much in 3 years as Bush did in 8.....

Obama recently asked to add another 1.2 trillion to our present record debt ceiling....

Republicans are the ones that created the "disastrous chrushing debt dilemma" and as for Romney, he's already started spending our American Taxpayer money with his demand for a "security detail" when he has plenty of millions of his own money to pay for his own private security.

That DON'T sound "conservative" to me!

Conservatives would be a little more supportive if Mitt would turn his "super-pac" loose on Obama, and start digging into his protected past. Maybe he would finally be vetted properly, like what should of been done during '08 elections. Also does this mean Mitt will soon be handed the keys to one of Obama's million dollar buses, paid for by taxpayer money???

Yes. The Secret Service bought the buses to protect the presidency, including nominees and their entourage. They are armed against bullets and IEDs. They remember JFK and their failure to protect him.

However, Republicans believe that the Obama's went bus shopping for a new RV and decided on two, one for campaigning and the other for camping. Rosa Parks would get a kick out of the irony of reactionaries in the twenty-first century so worked up about a black person riding in a bus.

Mruseurhead - Have you forgotten the 60+ million spent by the Grand Inquisitor Ken Starr of Clinton Admin fame or rather infamy. A semen stain on a dress and a little white lie. Cornservatives will spend like drunken legislators sparing no expense to inflate the next to nothing and claim it was worth it all. Just a suggestion Mr, try to use your mind, because empty or little heads are not that impressive.

              Node4,

Why don't you just worry about your current President on training wheels.

Republicans had Bush in office for 8 years and he never did get Bin Laden, now Republicans want to try to put someone else in office that would be "in training" too. I certainly wouldn't want Romney to do what he's been doing, i.e., liquidating American Businesses and shipping American Jobs overseas.

Judging by the liberal nutcases on this vine, it is very prudent to have the Secret Service protect our next President.

The only people who make threats over political leaders are the wacko Republicans, and that's the only folks who are out there trying to see Mitt.

I see that none of Republicans' phoney "conservative" B.S. talk stopped Romney from diving right into our Socialist, American Taxpayer Paid Secret Service. That hypocrit would never think of spending his own millions on private security!

Haha --- but isn't that Mitt's GOP demographic problem? ... he hasn't been able to attract enough wackos to solidify his base.

We can't have any of these liberal nutcases attempting violence on our next President. He is way more valuable than Obama. The true waste of taxpayer dollars is just having Obama take up space in our White House.

Joseph.. you couldn't hold a a candle to Obama... his depth of intellect far exceeds yours .. point in fact, he's on Air Force One and the Like , making stategic decisions, taking out enemies, renewing our stand in a world that is more than happy to have the Bush administration out of the planets hair,, and YOU, Joseph, are sitting in front of the computer in your underpanties, making believe you have something coherent to say on the subject ... sounds like you need to go outside and get some fresh air... oh, and yeah, if you didn't like Obama this term, maybe you'll warm up to him during the second term.... don't have a stroke, it will be ok if the economy grows and people continue to find jobs.. as much as republicans like yourself are linging for a debilitated economy ... because in the end, you really don't give a rats ass about the economy or the amercian people when you have all this CHRISTIAN HATE you need to vent .. now go study some facts in the fresh air of some busy highway intersection...
