Mitt Romney on Wednesday accepted an endorsement from Arizona Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, as he pushed for an overwhelming victory in next week's New Hampshire primary.
Romney flew in from Iowa in the morning after his narrow caucus win, and McCain joined him onstage — putting the Vietnam veteran back in front of audiences that handed him two primary victories here.
McCain, who is still hugely popular in the state, said his endorsement was intended to help Romney "get an overwhelming vote that will catapult this candidate to the White House."
Romney was governor of neighboring Massachusetts and holds a strong lead in polls in New Hampshire. With a precarious 8-vote win behind him, Romney is looking to voters here to hand him a victory that will make his eventual nomination seem all but inevitable.
Romney faces conservative challenges from former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who barely lost in Iowa, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who has already started running newspaper ads declaring Romney too moderate.
McCain is particularly popular with the independents who can vote in the state's Republican primary. His endorsement could help Romney win over those voters and increase his overall support.
McCain and Romney haven't always been political allies. McCain beat Romney in the 2008 New Hampshire primary, and there is a history of acrimony between the two. But Romney eventually endorsed McCain in 2008.

Thank you John, Romney is the only way to beat obama the kenyan.
You an ass.
You an ass, yo. You straight triflin'.
Bill, I hope Romney agrees with you and calls the President "The Kenyan". That's the type of ignorance that could have the President doing back strokes into another term.
Bill, I suppose you're like millions of other Republicans who aren't racist either.
Bill #21
That post seemed to work well for you...
Hope you are a GOP "Marketing Strategist"!
McCain and Romney - two peas of the same pod. Started out in the middle and both fell to their knees to lick the boots of the fringe right wing. Either of them would do or say anything to gain the presidency. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Why not? One multimillionaire backing another multimillionaire...
The rich have solid control over this country and just how it works for them...
SOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......After the 08 circus......and the desparate attempt to WIN by placing ms palin on the ballot and LOSING. Who cares. My hope is that everyone born from 1950 to now stand up and vote for SOLUTIONS INSTEAD OF THIS CONTINUED NONSENSE. Election reform, Tax reform, Outdated laws removed, Politicians held accountable, Im an Independent and I cannot wait till we get this right. Stand together Americans, stand together regardless of party, religion, race, gender or income level. Stand together against the continued nonsense, waste and corruption. Dont fall for the spin. We must get things straighten out NOW, this year 2012. If our only choice is more of the same repo/tea vs. President Obama.......I WILL VOTE FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA AGAIN.
Bill Fitzgerald - your ignorant post shows exactly what is wrong with the GOP. When there are no facts you can draw on, you create lies. That is all the GOP has become - a party of whiners and liars. As has been proved over and over again, our President is and always has been an American. But, because the right wing is pathetic, they continue with the Kenyan remarks. Pathetic!
Your party's stupidity is just another reason President Obama will be re-elected. You have no one of any value to lead the party.
Billy? WRONG. Anyone that might challenge President Obama is NOT on that stage, or sitting in the CLOWN CAR. MITT? BORING. NEWTY A BIG FAT LIAR, SANTORUM NOT. PAUL OLD AND THE REST FORGET IT. Buddy Roemer is a so called repo but rnc will not let him on stage. WHY? because he is not bought by special interest.
It is a conundrum. Many Americans, especially those liberals posting on this board, despise any rich person that doesn't hold their liberal views, but sees no problem with those rich, white folks that agree with liberals. That is hypocrisy and is destroying our country that increasingly is less tolerant even though liberals use that word all day long. So liberals, you have become the very person you hate.
When a nation gets to a point where they see wealth creation as a bad thing, we are quickly circling the drain. We should want wealth creation for all people instead of wanting to take wealth from those that attained it . The assumption by the left is that all wealth creation was somehow taken illegally or at the very least immorally. The exception of course is rich liberals like Pelosi that surely got their wealth through honest means. Right?
McCain, by himself was not rich. His wife was. Kerry, by himself, was not rich, but his wife is. Both men married money. Is that wrong?
McCain lost the election because he ran a very poor campaign, and readily admitted not knowing economics very well. Mitt should have been the choice and I would bet our economy would have never stagnated like it has with excessive regulations hurting even the small business owner. That being said, we do have a structural failure that nobody is really ready to deal with.
The left insist that we have had a higher debt to GDP after WWII and we came out of it. Think about why. It wasn't the war that brought on prosperity, it was that the US was the country left standing. Europe and Asia were a mess. Who was going to invest there? And so, America became the choice and we got to see significant expansion for decades UNTIL other countries looked more appealing than the US.
It is TOO EXPENSIVE still to do business here in the US. Money flows to the place of least resistance which is not here in the US when it comes to manufacturing that now employs 9 percent of the working world compared to 22 percent.
If you like the direction the country is going which is high debt, stagnant wages, higher taxes, more regulations, wasteful spending, then keep the guy in the WH because there will be more of the same.
theboys - had Romney won in 2008 and managed to get into the White House even more American jobs would be in China. He has sent more jobs overseas than anyone else. He is great at doing one thing - destroying American companies and laying people off. If you want that leading our country then you clearly have serious problems.
According to the obstructionist......Majority of Americans are liberals......well ok....liberal is not the worst word to be called. I CANT WAIT TO SHUT UP THE REPO, TEABAG SHEEP AND OBSTRUCTIONIST AGAIN..........GO AWAY, SHOO, Americans want change from 60 years of stealing from the middleclass.
McCain (the guy who selected Crazy Sarah as his running mate AND got his ass kicked in the election??) ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! That's an endorsement that will be meaningless... So what...
BTW... I hope this comes back to bite him in the ass. I also bet Romney will dust off the McCain endorsement as a "Thank you John" and that will be the last we will hear of it. My guess is Romney wants nothing to do with McCain... but buy comparison I guess you could say they are very similar as middle of the road conservatives...
TO: Bill Fitzgerald-2020106 who wrote:
Yeah, and hopefully Romney's campaign will end up the same way John's did.
Carnival barker.
Obama / Biden 2012
TO: theboys who wrote:
WRONG. We "liberals" are just sick of Republicans who can never get one single thing right.
Everything is backazzwards when it comes to Republicans.
Nevertheless, no "liberal" that I know of ever said they "hate" anybody.
Obama / Biden 2012
What does Obama have to do with John McCain endorsing Romney? But, now that many of you have posted about the president, let the truth be known. Oh, but wait a moment we can't; he has had his past records sealed. His records from his first college and from Harvard are all sealed and have been for reasons never explained. Why is he the first president in the history of the United States who has chosen to seal up or hide the facts of his past history? I would like to know how he was able to afford to pay the tuition at Harvard; as with most colleges it is not cheap. I would like to know what the names were of his two stated Muslim roommates while in college and why we have never heard from them. I know if Obama had been my roommate at school I would have written a book; " My Roommate Was a Slob" or "My Roommate was A Neat Freak." I would have written it, sold millions of copies, made the New York Times Best Seller's List and made a few million dollars in the process. I would also have kept the movie rights for Hollywood and made a few more million. No my fellow "posters" you cannot have it both ways and be true in life. How was he even able to afford to pay his rent or buy clothes? I have lived in "Bean Town" and it is not cheap.
Back to the ranch. Who would want John McCain's endorsement even if it means more money from the RNC. McCain, as I recall, was the feeble man who rolled over for Obama so that he could win the race to the presidency. It is past time for McCain to retire and move into one of those homes he forgets he owns.
MrCool - his records are not sealed. Another GOP lie. Let's see he headed Harvard Law Review so clearly he was not bright. Let's see, he got student loans which he paid off after writing his books. And, you might have written books but not everyone is lacking in integrity and wants to ride the coattails of someone. He worked which is how he paid rent and bought clothes - that's how most of us live. You really need some serious help!
I used to respect McCain. I was indignant when the poster-boy of draft dodgers attacked his military record in 99. He tarnished himself in '08, but now? Endorsing someone as poorly qualified to actually run this country as Willard, just because he might win?
Shame on the house of McCain.
What's Willard going to do when we face opposing ultimatums from different dictators? Promise them each what they want to hear? According to his track record, W(2) can't even make the decision whether to use the toilet or a urinal without consulting the crowd.
I would have thought McCain would have saved his endorsement for someone that has backbone to stand up to dictators. Not like we don't have that person as CinC already.
Again, how the mighty have fallen.
Sounds like mccant wants to be vp. That should seal the deal for the romney. romney/mccant.....another losing ticket........see ya in 2016
Funny! McCain, who's the first to lose to a "Kenyan" (wink-wink), endorses Romney, who'll be the second to lose to a "Kenyan" (wink-wink).....How about that?
This endorsement? Just another reason not to vote for Romney.
Getting Obama out of power is a necessity. The bad thing is finding someone to get that done.
@Bill Fitzgerald
Had your father had the good sense to pull out early I'm almost certain that the nation's aggregate IQ would be 2-3 points higher.
No racism in the GOP ranks,no sir.
OOOOH! Sorry Bill. the best part of you ran down your momma's leg.
McCain, Bush I and Bush II, Rove--if those endorsements don't turn voters off they are mentally deficient.
So The Loser endorses The Unelectable One. BFD. The Unelectable One spends lots of time and money and wins over The Invisible Man by 8 out of 60,000 votes cast between the two of them, and The Republican Party infrastructure is already scheduling The Unelectable One's coronation. Not so fast.....
I am beginning to think that most republicans, not all, are against Obama because of his skin color. Look at the support they are giving Romney, who will govern the same way as Obama.
Romney=democrat, just like Mccain.
Why don't you true conservatives, vote for the most conservative candidate, who stands for what you believe in?? Turn off the thought police (fox news), do some research, and vote for who best stands for the constitution, and against all of these liberty taking bills, such as the NDAA.
If Romney is the Gop's answer for Obama, then my vote will go to who ever the Libertarian candidate is. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this way. I will not, & refuse to vote for anyone who supports the Patriot Act, NDAA, & mandatory health insurance from a private corporation.
Obama the Kenyen? Sure, but if we are going to refer to everyone by his/her ancestors, how about "Bill Fitzgerald the Mick"?
Bill needs to learn that ALL citizens of this country are AMERICAN.
President Obama is OUR president, and Billy had better get used to it, because he will be our president until 2016.
Obama/Biden 2012
That was all I needed to know. If McCain is backing Romney the fix is already in. They chose a black man and a woman over him last time he ran. McCain needs to retire and keep his mouth shut. Nobody wants to hear from war mongers or beer barons.
hey goyim, do us all a favor and just "go away".....
McCain is such an idiot, he is still sore about having his ass handed to him on a plate by the non-white President.
As far as his endorsement is concerned, who gives a flying @!$%#.
Maybe it would be best for Romney if McCain kept his opinion to himself. To a lot of people McCain blew the last election, by running the worst campaign in a few decades, evidenced by allowing the most inexperienced, inept, and socialist ideologue ever to run for President of the US.
Arizona is turning from repo to INDEPENDENT/DEMO.......AZ cant hardly wait till kyl is gone and mc.......one by one the obstructionist are removed, recalled or voted OUT.
Cant wait till the old guy club and obstructionist are OUT. Its just a matter of time till things make sense.
I would not consider that a plus if I Romney. The future is here and now Americans. Vote for a change from the continued nonsense from the deranged, out of touch repo obstructionist. If our choice is those sitting in the clown car or President Obama.......Vote Obama. He has accomplished more in 3 years than the repo controled circus.
Dasvet - whenever anyone throws the socialist word out there it just proves how totally stupid they are. Our President is heads above the last one we had; he is no inept but faces the obstructionist GOP; he is intelligent; and can walk circles around all the GOP candidates!
What has Obama accomplished, other than increasing (tripling and counting) the national debt of the increase of eight years of George Bush? Increasing the unemployment figure twenty percent is another great Obama accomplishment, and the list goes on and on. All the while, saying it is all Bush's fault. The man in the White House is a socialist ideologue by his own admission. IT would take a braindead person to vote for Obama again, after seeing the disaster of his administration.
I think Americans know all they need to know about John McCain's 'judgement'. In fact, McCain's reputation and past says everything any thinking person needs to know. McCain thought he was the best for America and the GOP and he thought Sarah Palin was the second best person for America and the GOP.
Anyone having any question about McCain's mind need only to see their therapist and ask the obvious.
I see that the senile old Manchurian Candidate is still babbling the programmed words of his Asian masters. He's made a career out of screwing up and getting caught. First in Vietnam where his ineptness got him shot down. Then in Congress as a member of the Kettering Five bribery scandal. As a totally laughable Presidential candidate, and now as a "senior" endorser of the biggest RINO in the primary contest. The old fool needs to just gum his gruel and shut up. No honest American wants to hear what he has to say.
Dasvet, get some facts before you spew your nonsense.
McCain is not one to support anybody or anything. His choices, so far, are piss poor. He should be going with Bachmann, hand in hand, down the plank.
John McCain also endorsed Sarah Palin; I'm hoping the result is the same.
So funny to hear the Repubs trying to label Obama a Socialist. Repubs have been using that term since Kennedy. It doesn't scare ANYONE!
mccant will be a fitting replacement for the empty seats in the clown car. The kiss of death. Goodbye romney.
Its RON PAUL or U.S. Bankruptcy, More Wars and Many More Dead Solders.
One Circus Clown endorses another Circus Clown, so what, because they call themselves politicians?
It's meaningless!
I thought McCain endorsed Romney not Obama.
Dasvet - it WAS Bush's fault.
What has Obama done? He kept the ship from sinking completely - something Party Boy was unable or unwilling to do. You are lucky he won. McCain didn't have a clue, as evidenced by the fact that just a few months before, he said the fundamentals of our economy were strong. Then he turns around and picks Lipstick for his running mate.
I know this will all bounce off your 3 inch thick cranium.
If you really want to get rid of OBANA - You better nominate Romney ! Among all the Republicans, he is the only one who has a chance. Get smart, or we die !
http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlexJonesChannel#p/f/8/uocz4xqvNzE
skip to about 3 minutes in.its ron paul interview in 1988
just listen to how smart this man is.and all the crap that has come true.if your sitting on the fence, sit down and watch this.this is why the media is scared of him.
John McCain was synonymous with reform before he sold out to keep his seat. These days, he is just another politician.
Going all the way back to John Bayner's comment. How can you call Obama non-white? Isn't his mother non black? Wasn't he raised by non black grandparents? I can't understand non blacks not accepting Obama as one of their own? I don't see non acceptance by blacks because of his non black maternal side.
George-4580913 you might end up dying because I don't know who Obana is.
Anyway with McCain, yeah, one loser endorsing another potential.........
"Rising star"? Hasn't Mitt been the favorite?
Ah, the wonderful GOP tradition of passing on the anchor...
Amazeing the man that called Mitt a dishonest hypocryt and other things .. when he ran against him in 2008 .. now endorses the same Mitt he hated in 08 .. will McCain ever be anything but a panderer
McCain's not that good at picking a winner... After all he picked Palin as his running mate... How did that work out for him? Made millions for Palin...
Shouldn't McCain retire soon? He's too old and really does not make sense any longer... No wonder thet can't get thing done in Washington...
So the Bloody yank that help draft the NDAA endorses another bankster puppet?
Mitt Romney's top campaign contributors:
Goldman Sachs $235,275

Cerberus Capital Management $79,450
Sun Capital Partners $77,850
WHO DO YOU THINK THIS GUY WORKS FOR?
That's a pretty nice list of the "who's who" of money changers in the temple of the GOP. Why should anything change when the 1% of the uber-rich can purchase any and all of the power that they require to maintain the status quo, their control of 85% of the wealth and their total stranglehold on the nation's economy? Five centuries ago Macchiavelli was totally correct when he wrote in 'The Prince'... " In the final analysis, absolute power corrupts absolutely." Thanks for your revealing post.
Peace
and thank you for your well informed comment mate. It's nice to see someone who's not afraid to take the blinders off and stare down the 1% as the warmongering Chicken hawks they really are.
McCain is an OLD man who borders on the senile. It's time this old man retired and was put out to pasture. Anyone who would choose the NUT JOB Palin as a running mate well what does that tell you?
If mccain gives him an endorsement, then I will not vote for him.
PuppetLeaders, thanks for the great link.
McCain may hurt Romney instead of help.
Wow!!!!! Mitt Ronmoney hits the Repuke trifecta(or the mini Axis of evil, take your pick) and gets Bob Dole, Geo H. W. Bush and John "Wayne" McCain. He must be a loser magnet. What's next the endorsement? The devil incarnate or Geo W. Bush? Sorry, what was I thinking, that's one and the same!
To quote Jon Huntsman, "Nobody care." Nobody care about John McCain's endorsement and nobody cares about the results in New Hampshire. At least they shouldn't care.
The whole point of the nomination process is to get enough delegates to secure the nomination, not to win a state primary. In 2012, all the early states have proportionally allocated delegates. It has been calculated that Romney could receive anywhere from 7 to 13 delegates of the 25 Iowa delegates. The state of New Hampshire would normally have 23 delegates, but because they violated the Republican National Committee rules by moving their primary to an earlier date, they have been penalized by 50% reducing their delegates to 12. Assuming Romney receives 50% of the vote, it would net him approximately 6 delegates.
A WHOOPING 6 delegates and it takes 1,144 to win the nomination. To put that in perspective that would be approximately 0.5% of the delegates needed to win the nomination.
Hey! Get off my lawn!!
Well, Mitt Romney has now secured the coveted vote of seniors with kids on their lawns, so don't laugh.
I see a lot of McCain in Romney, they both speak to the interest of whoever they are speaking too. In this case, McCain is backing Romney because he thinks Romney has the best chance of winning - not because he agrees with anything Romney cares about.
It's Deja Vu all over again.
Now all we need is another obscure governor to run for V.P.
Obama stinks but he will clean Romney's clock.
Trust me,I would love to get rid of the present person infesting the White House, but nominating Beavis and Butthead to oust him ain't gonna cut it.
John you should as an American be proud of the accomplishments of President Obama. It has not been more of the same. And with alittle compromise......we just might get things right.
Beavis and Butthead would be a giant leap forward from this disaster in the White House now.
Sorry Dasvet, but those two are termed out already.
That's a shame, they were very good at talking without a teleprompter. Obama is a joke without a prepared speech, or a teleprompter, his uh's and ers, and "let me perfectly clear" while stirring the mud puddle with his ears.
Dasvet, you sound very bitter towards Obama, oh and by the way Bush and his band of idiots wrecked the economy.
REMEMBER
ummm Das'boot'vet, teleprompters are the MODERN way of communicating, instead of using 'flash cards' or written 'talking points' on a podium as past Presidents have done, so get out of the middle ages, k? As far as your 'increasing the debt' and unemployment spewage, try fact checking a little, you might be enlightened as to the truth, instead of living in that bubble, or are you afraid of it bursting and harshing your GOP mellow?
All these made-up controversies! As if Bush and Romney never use teleprompters.
I smell a romney/mccain ticket........honk honk and the clown car drives off the cliff
I can't belive this. Obama is intelligent, wonderful, brilliant, but can't fix what Bush broke. We elected this man to fix things, to improve the economy, to compromise with republicans and CHANGE the policitical not to continue to blame someone else for his failures and end up making things worse. The two parties are further apart than ever, Obama is not a uniter he is a divider he has not once compromised with repulbicans not once. He had to bribe and bully the democrats to get his precious Obmacare passed. He is not someone who understands the private sector economy and how jobs in this country are really created, he is someone who believes government rules, regulations and spending can solve everything. He believes the definition of FAIR is to confiscate money from those who have earned it and give it to those who haven't earned it. He thinks they are ENTITLED to somehting that belongs to someone else. Please explain what is fair about that. He thinks we can do the same things here that have been done in Italy, Spain, and Greece and somehow not end up bankrupt as a nation like these three are. He can see what has happened in Europe, we can see what has happened in Eurpope, yet he still wants to be like them, and you people call that intelligent? Brilliant? WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING!!!!
Keep smoking your Fox news blunt.
Its now time for African Americans to take their rightful place in the white house. Obama is doing a darn good job for his first term cleaning up Bush's mess that was already left on his desk!!! Now I guarantee he WILL win this second term...Why? Simply because he has absolutely No competition. Someone said earlier if McCain believed Sarah Palin was the best VP..he is a joke. Palin proved multiple times how vulnerable and ditsy she was.....So with McCain endorsing Romney its definitely going to hurt not help his stats....VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!
Obama has definitely accomplished a lot in ONLY 4 years. With all being said it took Bush eight years and probably more to just get our troops out of Iraq. So to all you racist people we as blacks shall succeed for 2012. So why don't you just join us and we become a team. :) God Bless!
I guess the next endorsement will come from Little Miss Lindsay Graham of South Carolina. She only follows and does what her daddy John says his best.
True the economy hit the wall in August of 2008 and it dramatically worsened as we approached November. Anyone else remember what else was happening at that time? A young senator from Chicago just became the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. Did anybody really think that McCain was going to win after 8 years of Bush? So with it pretty much certain that Obama's agenda would be leading the way for us, yes the economy reacted and investors pulled out their money. The jobs went away and they aren't coming back under this White House with his "Green" agenda. Obama's main accomplishments in his first four years were to bankrupt our treasury(twice), funnel most of the money to people that he liked, and to damage our ability to borrow more money to stay afloat. His tax cuts and medical program are working toward collapsing social security and medicare.
On the other side of the coin, McCain giving Romney his endorsement is like giving him the "Kiss of Death". So I actually have to agree with Creed20 on that much.
If Obama is doing a "darn good job", then it must be Bush's fault, since Obama is now starting the fourth year of Bush's third term. Obama is a cruel joke, and America will be paying for it dearly, long after his term as president to the tune of a twenty four trillion national debt in about four more years, if his administration continues on his unbelievable deficit spending. Three more trillion, and this president will have spent more in deficit spending than all previous presidents combined. If this is a "darn good job", then the world has been turned upside down. I do not hate him, personally, but I do hate what he is continuing to do to our children's future, unabated. The most divisive president we have ever had..
This is why Romney needs to air his political tv ads while cartoons are on -- this is Romney's target audience.
You're kidding us, right? How's that work out when the banks had already failed, (not TARP), the housing market was going down the tubes, and the big 3 automakers didn't go broke overnight. In the meanwhile, the right is holding the entire US hostage with that "untouchable" defense budget. Hell--it's been all unjustifiable offense since WWII.
Only a handful of real public servants exist in Washington, but I honestly believe that President Obama is one of them. His campaign funding comes, in large part from people like me--an avocado grower in Hawaii. Special interest wise, education is the largest contributor to his campaign. Check the man's personal financial records on opensecrets.org. Most of President Obama's and the First Lady's money is in US Treasury Bills. He believes in his country enough to put his personal money on the line. How about the corporate lackeys on the right?
President Obama inherited more negatives than any President in history. I think he's doing fine.
Obama-Biden 2012----Bernie Sanders, 2016.
Vladimir Putin in 2012? I like your socialist/marxist grouping. Will you predict the date that Obama takes responsibility for his failures? He has been President for about three full years, and don't you tink it is time for him to be a man?
Why doesn't McCain just go ahead and endose Obama? This guy can't make the right decisions on anything...he's to old and out of touch to have any bearing on this election.
My guess is McCain is hoping to run with Romney as Romney's VP. If that's true, Romney better run away from McCain as fast as he can.
The only folks who voted for McCain were die-hard Republicans who just vote Republican no matter how bad the Republican Candidate is.
Romney already has trouble with evangelicals and conservatives, so all Romney needs is McCain and Romney can go home too.
Obama / Biden 2012
McCain chose Palin and lost to Obama. If McCain had chosen a VP with credentials, he would be President.
Problem with Republicans is that they don't want to take responsibility for their failures, that includes Bush. It's easier to blame Obama for everything.
Gingrich is right, Mitt is a liar. How does he know? It takes one to know one ;-)
TO: Jake Reyna who wrote:
Hudson, you may be right .
In fact, the only guy older is Ron Paul.
Jake Reyna: McCain wouldn't be President if he chose someone else. The country was fed up with Bush. They wanted whatever the opposite of Bush was. McCain wasn't that. McCain was down big in the polls and used Palin as the Hail Mary and it almost worked. For the first month she closed the gap. Then she opened her mouth and the campaign fumbled the ball.
As if mccain's endorsment is a good thing. LOL................good lord these modern day republicans are entertaining and dangerous at the sametime.
brannon521, "For the first month she closed the gap. Then she opened her mouth and the campaign fumbled the ball."
You validate my point, if McCain had selected a VP with credentials the campaign wouldn't have fumbled the ball. Regardless, McCain did America a favor and he appears to be doing the same by endorsing Mitt.
Jake, your point is not validated. McCain was low in the polls, and Palin launched him upwards due to her dazzle. If McCain had picked a solid candidate with credentials, that candidate would not have created the same buzz, and McCain would have maintained his low position, or received a small bump. Palin seemed exciting and interesting and new, unlike the qualified choices. Once the shine wore off, then she was a liability.
Bill - one guy with nine houses via his wife endorsing another guy via his father - both 1% I'm so excited
Yeah, boy, THERE is an endorsement to die for......well, politically die, figuratively speaking. Good old "Conservative Mitt" (did I just hear my KEYBOARD laugh??) may as well call it done.
Rather like getting a character reference from someone whose handcuffed & sitting in the back seat of a police cruiser,,,
On some level it's actually humorous. A large portion of the republican base are self identified conservatives. Only they recognize that the conservative ideology cannot win the White House, and will ultimately back Romney, a moderate. The reality is conservatives cry for a bright contrast from the President but they know only a fuzzy contrast in Mitt the Flip even has a shot at winning the White House back.
Please, are you actually saying that the Tea Party can actually achieve the intellectual equivalent of becoming practical, pragmatic and realist?
Good luck with that!
One moderate rhino endorsing another moderate, no story here. Obama will only be removed from the White House by a conservative candidate willing to take the gloves off, and force Obama to run against Obama. And I mean someone who is willing to force an accounting of every dime of stimulus spent by Obama. When mantra is spewed, call Obama on it. The claims of 2 million private sector jobs saved, make him prove it. The claim stimulus spending saved America from another depression, make him prove it, where was the money spent, and I mean to the penny. Don't go by inflated employment numbers, include every single unemployed person in America, even those who have given up or are under employed, I bet it is alot more than 8.9%. Point out who Obamas contributers are, and what corporations they run, especially the ones who are tied to alternative "green energy", and find out whether they recieved stimulus. If America is still willing to give Obama a second term after learning the TRUTH this time about who the man really is, so be it.
Would you be willing to scrutinize the republican candidate in the same manner? What's fair is fair! And if there's a third party candidate would that person get the same treatment? I'm all for what you're suggesting but make it fair for every candidate. The American voter has the right to know who they are voting for before they pull the lever.
It should happen on a regular basis rather than the "puff pieces" we usually get from govt. Skew the numbers to make it sound better.....come on....we're all out here. So, yes, it should happen to a dem, a repub, or anyone else who is "defending" their last term.
Mruseurhead - and let's make sure the Republican candidates are also scrutinized to see how many are in the Koch brother's pocket; how many are bought and paid for by Wall Street; how many have oil company investments; how many kowtow to a particular church; how many need someone to tell them every day how they are supposed to think. Yes, let's make sure we take the GOP apart and we'll just see who wins in November - won't be the GOP.
Every wart on a republican is bannered by such as MSDNC, while Obama's past was ignored in the mainstream press in 2008. A republican has to the mainstream media campaigning to contend with along with the democratic party. It will be a close race for president, but americans don't have to listen to MSNBC, etc. to know this presidents inability to lead, it is apparent to all except for the leftwing socialist Obamabots.
Dasvet...it would be interesting if you would actually stand behind a candidate and explain why their vast plan would be better for the US...but you can't do that, can you. My guess is that you don't even KNOW what any given candidate's plans for America are.
FOX and Limbaugh prey on the reactionary ignorant like yourself...because they know you will run out and repeat anything they say without educating yourself to the actual facts. To anyone with more than a 5th grade education, you appear as a lying, spoiled little 5 year old girl...and your only appeal is to other lying, spoiled 5 year old girls.
Time to grow up, little one.
Two time losers driving the clown car. HONK HONK HONK......ahhhhhh chucky ducky doo.....
One moderate rhino endorsing another moderate, no story here.
Kinda reminds me of the Laurel & Hardy episode where the one driving hands the steering wheel of the car to the passenger! Hah!
True conservatives want to privatize Social Security and Medicare. Wonder how those policy decisions will play in Peoria?
"Although it is not true that all Conservatives are stupid, it is True that Most Stupid People are Conservatives".- John Stuart Mill
Just what I want - a candidate backed by an old senile fuddy dudd who thinks it's still 1941 and wants to keep the "spread democracy across the globe" garbage machine churning.
Romney is no conservative. He's just a RINO who will do more of the same.
This is the same guy who thought Sara Palin was ready to step into the presidency if needed.
Damned by faint praise.
And what is our current Vice President's name??......
Yella, Biden is no Mensa candidate but who would you (honestly) rather see in the WH, Palin or Biden.
To most, especially after 3 years of Sara, the choice is fairly obvious.
Yeah and newty says he would ask ms payme to be vp if he LIED his way to the WH.......if our only choice is those sitting in the clown car......VOTE OBAMA 2012......vote out ALL obstructionist at city county state and federal levels.......and maybe ALL old guys.
Yeah Mark, Biden is so good, We haven't seen him in some time. I'm sure he's doing something, practicing gaffe's maybe?
The Kiss of Death....... Although I appreciate McCain as a Veteran and a Serviceman, but not a Statesman.
Nor, as a Salesman.
And I want a candidate that can actually lead a Nation, not one who is chosen simply because he can read flowery speeches off a tele-prompter , or because the media likes the crease in his slacks. No your right no one wants a fuddy duddy, but neither is the cast of Jersey Shores, and Snookie would not make a good President either, maybe thats part of the problem, were not suppose to be voting on looks. Yeah Obama sounds articulate, he plays basketball, he does a mean fist bump with the ol' lady, and seems cool. But cool didn't work out so well did it? Just ask the millions of people out of a job. This isn't American Idol.............
Why all the fuss about a tel-prompter? Guess he could use 3X5 cards with notes like Reagan did, or write on his hand like Sarah, the 1/2 Governor did. Would you complain about those choices also? Get yourself some help for your ODS.
Mruseurhead - The stupid teleprompter comment again. Every President - including Regan - has used a teleprompter. You just couldn't tell Bush was using one because he had a hard time reading. The job losses were started during the Bush presidency and anyone who thought they would suddenly stop hasn't a brain in their head. Every jobs bill President Obama has proposed, the GOP has blocked even getting to a vote. You're right, this isn't American idol. However, lying about who is responsible is not going to help fix the problem.
I think its worked out well.......look at how all the ranting and raving has brought important issues to the surface to correct. If President Obama had a decent house of elected paid servants.....instead of stale teabags and mean old guys......things would even be better.
The reason everything looks so dark to you, Mrusurhed, is because of where I believe urhed is lodged.
Barack Obama 2012
A McCain endorsement is a sure "Kiss of Death" for Romney. The only thing worse than an endorsement from this RINO Loser, would be one from Hussein obama himself.
Sorry Alan... did not mean to vote for this BS you wrote! Yes, McCain's endorsement true is the kiss of death... from one loser to another! LOL Obama has improved the economy, but I would never expect the Repubnuts and Teaheads to admit it. Bigotry at it's best spewing from the GOP is not going to get them into the WH. They don't care about the policies that they can bring to the WH and help the economy, ... they want to do away with foodstamps, social security, and medicare/medicaid. Their most important goal is getting Obama out of office, instead, they should be trying to make us believe they give a damn about the citizens, which they don't! They will never get into the WH. Very funny stuff those Repubnuts and Teadheads... ROFLMAO!
Alan - the ignorance of your post is apparent. And, it says so much more about you than it ever does our esteemed President.
Not sure Romney wanted the indorsement from the "party's one-time standard-bearer"--key word is at one-time. He is no longer a standard-bearer and it is time for the self proclaimed Maverick to go to the pasture. He has overstayed his time in WDC--the reason term limits are needed--he can't hang up the hat. He has lost touch, he as added no value to our government in a longtime and he is not doing things in the best interest of the US--Bush and the GOP used him as a patsy in 2008 because they did not want to face the economy, peoples frustration with the war--and he selected Palin--come-on he couldn't win it on hios own merit so he ensured he tanked the election.
Look at what McCain has done for Arizona--nothing the state is ranked as the 4th worst run state out of 50 and is Arizona is ranked 6th for doing the least for its tax payers.
McCain to endorse Romney? That's good, another nail in his coffin.
Al Sharpton next?
LOL John.... Sharpton is not one of my favorite people, but he's better than anyone out there trying to get into the WH! THEY ARE THE BIGGEST JOKE OF THE YEAR...CENTURY??? Newt, the philanderer, Romney the puppet, Santorum and Paul the bigots (S only shows his Christianity when he's talking to the GOPers) LOL... Bachman, should have gone home long ago, Perry did the right thing (Hey Rick... take Michelle with you) and Huntsman is the best joke of all! LOL whew... GOPs motley crew doesn't stand a chance against Obama! Can't wait for the debate between Obama and one of the dummies. Great ENTERTAINMENT!
if you like Sharpton then heck get Jermiah Wright on there he fits the ideals of the left way better/
McCain couldn't even pick a good VP candidate, so him endorsing Romney can only mean a curse to Romneys run.
Nothing like having the John 'kiss of Death' McCain to start your campaign. This is what the Republicans do to themselves all the time, put forward unelectable candidates and then have more unelectable also-rans support them. What a bunch of idiots! Not only that, if you listened to the news media last night, they were all in a frenzy to validate Romney and Santorum in order to diss Ron Paul. Gov. Terry Branstad (a Romney supporter) was the "authority" referred to by both Fox News and John King of CNN and all he could say was "ROMNEY". Talk about the news media skewing results, they also had Kudlow on CNBC focused on New Hampshire where Romney is strong--hello, I thought the contest was in Iowa NOT New Hampshire. I guess the electorate knows which candidate are the darlings of the establishment, yup, you guessed it: Santorum and Romney, the guys that want to do away with Social Security and foment more wars without end.
Got to love Romney - just saw him on the morning news proclaiming "McCain is Mister New Hampshire" and his support is a tremendous lift because McCain has won this primary twice...
Check your history Mitt - McCain won NH 2000 and lost the nomination - fast forward to 2008 and he won NH and yet still lost the election...
Yep MItt - he is "Mister New Hampshire" - he just couldn't convince the rest of the country!
At least McCain was smart enough to marry a rich woman. Wish i would have been that smart.
There may still be time?
Just sayin!
Multiple wives in Utah ain't unheard of................
Sorta like having 9 homes...........
I think it is still in the charter and was never disavowed by the founding fathers of the faith. And since the US laws do not recognize plural marriages one can call them wives at home and single mothers for welfare purposes and in the process get super rich. So if getting rich is your thing riverman, there are many ways, some legit and some against the laws of God and man..
OK, just to be clear, the loser endorses the guy who lost to him.
Do I have that correct?
FOX Lies.
does not surprise me that lame brain mccain would endorse this buffoon..he is the reason obama resides at 1600 pa. ave..by the way, how about blitzer/bash and crew cutting off one of our finest, citing lost connection..the guy was telling it straight..the israelis can handle their own mess, but cnn, and blitzer/aipac/lobbists could not stand the honesty..American, get ready for 4 more years of the obamacrats..ala israel, soros, and company..
RINO endorses RINO
Sure. mac has parked his cheeks in the senate for 25 years and look where we are. Dont listen or vote for those born before 1950.....
isn't that some funny shiiti!
That's your answer. Stay away from Romney.
bachmann canceled her trip to sc... her news conference coming on soon. guess she's about to drop out of the race for the nomination.... good girl! what took her sooooo long? ANOTHER ONE BITS THE DUST! :-)
Loren you think this is a joke don't you? This is OUR county not a joking matter.. another one bites the dust??? Please think of country not party...
